I was in the mood for something a little different, as I was bored to death with my hair. She suggested that we not do anything for the moment and I gave into her recommendations. I personally come to this salon because of hair stylist Sasha Brewer - I would follow her anywhere. She's always happy, pays attention to detail, and addresses your concerns/needs. I love that she'll listen to what I want, but also make suggestions that I wouldn't have thought to do! It makes such a difference :) There hasn't been a single time that I have walked away unsatisfied by Sasha's work. The fact that she cares about my hair being healthy is amazing. I started going to this salon a couple months ago. I absolutely love it. It's chill and down to earth. Sasha is the best - she does a fantastic job. She knew exactly what color combo to use on my hair to darken it and make it look healthy and shiny. She really transformed my hair. In addition, she is quick (you aren't there for hours). She also massages your head and neck as she's shampooing you. It's really a relaxing experience and you walk out feeling refreshed. It's also not ridiculously expensive. Totally recommend. Okay, I am a lame-o for not writing this review sooner, but life got in the way. I went to Vita Mutari for the first time and Sasha P. did my hair - cut/trim, color, and minimal highlights. It was fabulous! Sasha listened to my thoughts and gave suggestions on what would work and suit my low-maintenance lifestyle. I was so pleased with the results and the way she styled my hair was amazing (even hubby made the comment that it was one of the better hair color/style - if not THE BEST - I've gotten in all the years I've been getting my hair done!). I've been a client for almost 3 years, and I cannot imagine going anywhere else for my highlights, cuts, and Brazilian straightening treatments! One of the unique aspects of Vita Mutari, is the way Carrie has trained the team to work together. My schedule can be a bit hectic, and I cannot always book out months ahead of time. I have never been the type of client to call the front desk and ask who may be available (I was always a one-stylist type of client), but at Vita Mutari I can! Trey is my go-to guy for hair. Finding a trustworthy stylist can be a stressful and difficult search (those of you who have experienced this, know the pain and anxiety when trying out someone new). Thankfully, Trey has been fantastic. I have followed his career in Houston to his current appointment with Vita Mutari. Trey is casual and relaxed but really knows his stuff. He is a sought after hair educator for major companies (e.g., L'Oreal, Shu Uemura) and I would recommend him to anyone, man or woman. Every time I sit in his chair we talk about the general direction of how I'd like my hair cut and he gets to work. I have reached the point where I can trust that Trey will make me look good and I don't worry. The hallmark of a great haircut is how well it grows out and Trey's cuts look great the day of and even several weeks afterwards. As for the salon, it is in a great part of town and the staff are always friendly and professional. The salon is clean and modern without being fussy. The salon website also has online booking, which is great for those of us like to be able to see options for appointments. Parking can be a little tight as there is only one row of spots in the shopping center but I have always been able to find a spot so no need to deduct any stars. I would recommend Vita Mutari - if you're on the fence, give it a try, I'm sure the staff there will take care of you. read more

It was a last minute appointment and I was desperate for a new hair look. I am currently trying to let my hair grow but I didn't want it to be boring while its in the process. I called in and asked for first available. I got Michael Shayne as my stylist. I get really nervous when I have no idea about a stylist's background but gave it a shot anyway. Upon arriving, the salon offers refreshments which was great. Micheal greeted me and helped me pick out the look and color I wanted. I told him I just wanted it to look natural and I wanted it to flow and have that sunkissed summer balayage ombre look and nothing to the extreme. 2 hours later, nervous on what I was about to get, he did not disappoint me! I went to Vita Mutari Salon last week and was blown away not only how I was greeted but treated the entire time. I found Trey Gillen on Memorial Information Trading and noticed he had a lot of great reviews but also looking at his pictures of his cuts and incredible coloring, I had to book an appointment with him! Not only do I love Trey and his personality but he has true talent! He can look at your hair and instantly know what color/cut fits. His coloring technique creates such a natural and beautiful look. I can tell a big difference from my coloring before and after. I have gotten so many compliments too!! My mom also had the pleasure of having an appointment with Trey and called him the handsome version of "Edward Scissor Hands" He is just that good! I can't see myself going to anyone else. The location of the salon is also in a nice part of University area and parking is directly in front of salon. Everyone that works there seems to all pitch in and work together with either helping with clients or helping clean. The salon was literally spotless and had a hip/modern vibe. My review is based solely on my experience with Sasha. I came in with 6 months worth of new growth. My last stylist left a bad taste in my mouth after having a $120 price increase without warning after opening up her own salon. I'm a very picky customer and I knew my hair was in terrible shape. I was worried about Sasha never wanting to see me again after dealing with my hair the first time but all of the worry went away after meeting with her for two minutes. She made it seem like my hair wasn't a problem at all. She explained everything she was going to do and what she was doing at every step. She had to redo my bayalage fully but let me tell you this is the best bayalage I have ever seen. I'm trying to grow out my natural hair and she made the brown to blonde so seamless and natural. She even explained to me multiple maintenance options such as coming in for a few foils around to face every so often, reglossing here and there, or waiting another six months to redo the bayalage all over again based on how much time and money I want to save/spend. This girl is an artist but she is also so sweet, easy to talk to, and humble. I don't think she knows how talented she is truly. Having her do your hair is worth the investment as well as the salon having her as an employee. read more
