Great work when you can catch the right manicurist...I called one evening before coming just to see if my manicurist was available, she wasn't there of course but I went anyway and my 25 minutes and gas was wasted because they closed 45min early :(...went back the next week to personally tell the owner (my manicurist) I really think they should change the hours on website and door if they aren't going to abide by them, she was nice and apologetic but she felt it was okay because they were slow...NOT OKAY...EXCELLENT NAIL WORK, BUT CONSISTENCY IS WHAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS NEED! I have been here a handful of times now and it is my new got to place. The staff are friendly and they do a great job! There are a variety of colors to choose from and the place is clean and those are two musts for me. I pay $52 for a pedicure and gel manicure so the prices are competitive to the area. read more

I had a friend who recommended this place but I really left feeling disappointed. The color I picked was 59 but the guy got 65 one was a lavender the other one was a hot pink there was no way to tell until my nails were painted and I kept thinking once the gel was dried it would change --NOPE I left with hot pink nails. My fault for. It speaking up but by that point I was really underwhelmed. Also there were serious issues with application my husband asked why my nails looked like there were dents on them. Visiting in town from New Orleans and yelped nail salons near the hotel we were staying at and Luxor was nearby and had some great pictures and reviews. We got there as soon as they opened and we're greeted immediately. The prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent! Mary took care of my waxing and gel manicure. I was interested in trying the brow tinting and so happy with the result! If I am ever back in the area I will definitely be returning to pay them visit again. read more

I have tried this place a number of times just to make sure it wasn't me on a bad day. First, they give you a card in which you get either $10 off or a free manicure after 9 purchases were made. So, on my 10th time there...I present them the card (stamped 9 times) and the lady had the nerve to stamp the 10th square that clearly states...$10off a service or a free manicure. Then she looks at me and says, it'll be $35 for the fill....I said no, where's my $10 off?? Oh, thats on your next time here....oh no it's not!!! Long story short I did get my $10off, but why give cards when you don't want to honor what it says? There have been a few times I walked in, they say sit here we'll be right with you, then switch seats and sit here....she's busy, I'll do your nails. The one that was "busy" was too busy yacking on the phone and smacking her lips as she was eating when they first opened!!! So much for customer service.....the lack there of!! Not just horrible service, horrible people! My family and I just relocated from the Seattle area and I've been in search of a new nail salon. I stumbled upon Luxor nails as we live right down the street. PROS: Comfy chairs, great location, and no wait (I went on a Thursday afternoon). They also did a decent job on my nails. I had a mani/pedi with shellac on my fingernails. CONS: Unprofessional staff -- Let me preface this with the fact that I am Vietnamese. However, I don't really look Vietnamese. Therefore, the staff members didn't know I understood what they were saying. I've gotta say, the things that they were saying about their customers made me sick to my stomach and completely ashamed to be doing business with them. Multiple times, they made snarky comments about me and other customers in Vietnamese. It wasn't until my husband and kids walked in that they realized I understood them since I spoke Vietnamese to my kids. You should've seen their faces. Even then, I didn't make a scene as I was with my children. I waited until the end and my children left with my husband to ask for the manager. He/she wasn't available. I brought my concerns to the attention of one of the workers and she apologized, but the damage had already been done. I felt completely embarrassed, disrespected, and uncomfortable being in a shop that spoke so poorly about others for no reason. You are there to serve us! Why would you complain when we are making it clear to you exactly how we want our service completed -- Only to save you time and grief fixing it later. I'm sorry, but I will not be going back to this location and I hope that no one else has to endure being disrespected as I was whether you understand them or not. read more

I really respect nail salons that give you an accurate time frame of when they can assist you. I docked off two points because this nail salon doesn't really abide by appointments or tell you an accurate estimate of the wait. Luxor overall is great and decently priced (acrylic nails, with gel nail polish, and a pedicure ~ 60$). MY nails usually last more than a month. I go here when I have time, otherwise the last two times I waited 30 min AFTER making an appointment. read more

I've been getting my nails done for years, but started coming here 3 months ago. The first 2 appointments were great because the owner Mary did my nails. On the 3rd appointment the man who works here did my nails and cut 6 of my cuticles. The past few appointments have been ok but on my last visit we discovered a fungus growing on my thumb nail which is likely from their lack of cleaning tools in between customers. They say they can take you but you will wait and wait to actually get someone to work on you. Started out great but turned horrible real fast. DON'T GO HERE! read more

Sorry, but I have to take away some stars. I went back to Luxor Nails in the beginning of July to get a pedicure and since they had the 25% off promotion, I decided to get a manicure too. I got all the way through my service and the lady told me it would be $32. I asked her about the discount and she told me I had to have a coupon. I busted out the price list I got last time that said all services 25% off through July 17th and she acted like she had no clue where I got that. The worst nail salon I know! I got a manicure with gelish nail polish....Mimi did a great job! The problem that I had was....I came in with my toes looking better than it did coming out! They did a rush job on my daughter's pedicure and didn't have time to do her manicure. How are they going to start on a pedicure knowing that you're going to close in a few minutes...then after they already took off my nail polish on my toes tell me that the only person that does designs just left. I told the lady to just do a regular pedicure her excuse was....umm I don't have time...I have to go home!! WTF is wrong with this picture. Needless to say...I only paid for my manicure! The new managment is fab. All I can say is Rockstar is the way to go if your a gel person. It will draw many eyes to your nails and the compliments will roll in. I love the glitter and it stays on longer than 2 weeks most of the time. The pedi's are great whether it is the basic or delux. Make an appointment is my recommendation. read more

This is a review of customer service. Not of quality of service. How in the world does a business let a paying customer walk out of their establishment without attempting to sale them anything?? I witnessed the technicians tell customers to come back in an hour. This makes no sense to me- but I digress. I was on my way through Dublin and looked up "nail salons" on my trusty mobile device, and was on my way to another top rated salon when their sign caught my eye. I thought "grand opening" would mean "not busy" so I decided to give it a try. I was right, and got right in. Wow...I was impressed! Amy did my pedi, and it was probably the most wonderful spa pedicure I've ever had, paraffin wax treatment included. At the same time Amy was doing my pedi, the owner gave me a mani, which was good also. I've been looking for a new nail salon since I moved from to the Tri-Valley from Walnut Creek. I've tried a few, but I think I've found the winner with Luxor! A couple girlfriends and I came here for pedicures on a Sunday. Nice location, plenty of parking in the afternoon. The salon looked clean. We had an appointment, and were pleased that they immediately sat us and had a nail technician working on all of us at once (I don't know how many times I've come into a place with an appointment only to have to wait 20 minutes!) The employees were very friendly. We all had the Luxor Spa Pedi. The technicians did a wonderful job clipping my nails and tending to my cuticles. Overall, a great experience! Promotion is over. I went in for a pedicure and they only applied one coat. The nail dryer was funky, when it was set on the heat, one side was extremely hot. My friend had Amy and was pleased with her mani and pedi and she got two coats of polish. The massage chair and cleanliness are above par. Wish I could give 3.5 stars. read more

Mary decided that I needed glitter. I am usually not a glitter kind of girl but I love them. I get a lot of compliments for them. Not once did my technician, Jenny, hurt my feet (I'm sure we're all too familiar with that unpleasant experience) and did a wonderful, relaxing job with the massage. It wasn't very long, but her technique is excellent. Not only that, but my French manicured toes look beautiful, and, bonus, Caps & Taps is right across the street. Got a gel nail manicure and regular pedicure. The pedicure was nothing special - they charge extra for working on the rough patches on your heels. the gel manicure took forever. I understand that a certain amount of shaping and filing is necessary to ensure that the manicure looks neat and clean, but this woman filed my cuticles raw. literally, i was bleeding and had scabs for a week. So I desperatly wanted to get a fill before the weekend and walked in at 7 (they close at 8) and mimi was an utter doll and took care of me. I went the opposite of pink this time and got jet black :) fits my mood. But mimi took utterly good care of me, and even took care of my cuticles which needed some desperate care. The owner and her husband are very nice and professional. She did a fabulous job on my mani/pedi. I came in about a 1/2 hour before closing and was a little worried about getting a rushed mani/pedi. I was pleasantly surprised that none of the services were rushed. She took her time and was very personable and friendly! Bad service!!! I went here with my mom, and sister in law and we all had mani and pedi and know what?? These "vietnamese manicurist" just kept talking to each other in their language...so unprofessional. The one who is doing my manicure(shellac) accidentally cut my cuticle deeper and bled a lot.. Because of their loud noise you will never feel relax in this place... I felt like I was at the wet market buying meat and fish. Reported to the owner as soon as she came at the store but just apologized and didn't do anything about it. I guess she's scared of her workers. Too bad! Will never ......ever ....go back to this place. I don't think she knows what her workers do when she's gone, even if... Workers needs to be professional. I was just driving by and needed a quick manicure. All I needed was gel removal and a manicure, simple right? I guess wrong. So I came by and they took me right away. I got a male technician. He first sneezed in my face, which is so gross and didn't wash his hands. What really upset me is he asked for payment half way though the service which I thought wasn't right. I also had to tell him when my nail didn't look straight, and he didn't provide a hand massage after. I had to ask the the other ladies if this is what they do to all their customers. I guess it's their rule to ask for payment midway so you don't get your nails messed up. If he would've explained that I think I'd be less upset. I've been to many nail salons and this is the first time I encountered this. On top of that, my nails do not feel smooth and it was literally a half ass job. I explained to them I'm paying for a full manicure, he didn't do a good job shaping my nails, and didn't provide the full service as described. Also, when he said he was finished the technician looked at the $20 he made me take out and said "that's It?" He was seriously expecting a tip! A tip is something earned and under my discretion. The place is nice and quiet but the service... She painted my nails with an Essie polish which usually takes a few coats to get the color pretty solid. I could still see my nail through the polish since she didn't cover the entire nail. Also, I asked her if she could fill it and she told ME that I messed it up. I didn't even move.
