The 3 woman working there wearing masks because of how bad it smells no air system at all I will never go back they don't clean off their electric files they use used files never a new file for each customer their nail desk full of file shavings not even cleaned off , floors so dirty dust all over their nail polish bottles I really should have walked right out I had a 1 pm appointment they were 30 minutes late I picked this place drove by I was in a crunch also dead plant leaves on the floor this scum place should really be shut down first ref flag you walk in and smells so strong and no ventilation Walk out!! read more

Walked right in and was accepted immediately. It was around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. Everyone was wearing masks and I was asked to wash my hands before sitting in my pedicure chair. Everyone was very nice and I got the ultimate deluxe pedicure/manicure situation so I threw down $80. Worth it. Typically I ask for extra massage time but I really didn't need to because the massage time that was included with the package I got was great!! Definitely felt very relaxed. The only things I noticed (and why one star is missing) that could be improved is the ventilation... Cause it smells RIPE with acetone... And while sanitized, some of the chairs, and nail stations seemed very WORN OUT. I mean, could be a good sign though-- meaning lots of people come here because it's great! read more

I just moved to colorado and was looking for a good place for gel nail polish. I called to make an appointment, Sunday morning, Tina answered me with immeasurable kindness from the phone until when I got in the car to leave. I have never been so well received in a salon on a Sunday. impeccable work on my nails and toes . She also did my eyebrow. At the end when I was in my car to go home they offered me lunch. I'm sad to be writing this update but less than 1 week after getting my nails done here 2 of them popped off. I like to think I'm super cautious with my nails when I'm able to- and especially when I've paid for them to look nice, but this is the 1st time I've had this occur with acrylics or really any faux nail set. A couple days later and after glueing the 2 back on myself, others started popping off too. No other damage to them, no oils applied or pressure/bending for this to have happened. Most popped off with minimal pain (but obviously damage to my nail bed, caused by acrylic and tip glue peeling off), and the last 2 that had remained had to be removed with clippers and acetone. Looking at the state of how they popped off showed me that a lot of my cuticle had been left behind and shaped over without removal. I wish I had noticed this and asked it to be done- but should cuticle care have to be requested for a full mani with acrylic set, The experience here had been nice and I'm pretty bummed by the outcome. read more

Well, today I went to Luxor Nails for the first time. Nicole did my nails and, all I can say is that I LOVE the job she did. I've been going to the same nail lady in IL for 12 years that I have loved, but, dare I say, Nicole did a better job. (I feel so guilty). Anyway, I would recommend this nail salon and Nicole. Not sure what is up with these folks? They were literally trying to stay awake when I arrived. Otherwise, they were on their cell phones (So professional, I know). The tech said she loved her job, but all she did was grouse about her clients and was off-putting. Hated my nails, but since she was already negative, I didn't say anything. I just pulled them off in a few days. Plus, no hand massage, lotion..nothing. Pretty cheap. My nails weren't shaped correctly and looked like they were done by an amateur, although she said she had been doing them for years. As I left another of the techs was telling my tech that her client was checking every single nail - like it was an insult. But, looking at mine, her client was justifiable in doing so. I love this place. Every time I go in I'm so happy with my nails. I'm not the best at explaining what I want done so I normally just bring in a picture and tell them to do their thing. And I've never been disappointed by these women. They are amazing and so gentle. I've been to places where they've cut my finger and completely ignored it. These ladies know what they're doing and make me so happy with how my nails look a every time I go in there. It's the only place I get my nails done. Plus their prices are amazing and easy to locate. They have so many selections (I normally get either a gel or something that dries quick) they're never too thin or too thick. And I've never had them break. (And I have a toddler at home) if I could give more than five stars I would. I highly recommend going here if you want beautiful nails. read more

Completely unprofessional and unsanitary. Seriously the lady was FILING HER OWN NAILS while she waited for my base coat to dry. Then used the same file on mine! They did the absolute bare minimum, filed and dipped my nails, no lotion, no cuticle trimming, nothing. I could have done a better job at home by myself. Absolutely do not go here. My experience was so unpleasant I don't even possess the mental fortitude to go back to their shop to allow them the chance to fix these awful nails. If I could choose one word for my visit; trash. When I checked yelp last week to get my nails done this place has 5 stars. Now it has 4.5, but I don't know why they even have an account if their work is this bad. I started off feeling as a complete inconvenience to the nail tech doing my nails,( I had a 330 appointment and they didn't close until 5) so I tried to start a conversation with minimal reactions. I sat because I figured" they've got a good rating and I'm already here, let's see how this goes..." Nope. Should've left. I've never had acrylics before and didn't know what to watch/ look for... Thankfully my sister is a beauty guru and filled me in on all the steps skipped as far as application. 6 days and $55 later I've got 8 nails completely peeled up except for the glue at the tips which was the only glue applied. Also had no cuticle trim or cuticle push back... I'm not claiming to be a nail tech but the tech I do know just said the cuticle under the acrylic is half the problem. All I'm saying is that this is your place of profession and not only yours but your coworkers' livelihood, put on some decent clothes and smile at people. Your job is to make me as your customer feel relaxed and welcome. I also understand everyone has bad days, that does not excuse the absolutely distasteful application of my first ever set of acrylics. Completely inappropriate bedside manner and no regard for professionalism. I honestly have no idea what I paid for because it definitely wasn't the nails and was not an experience I'd like to ever have again. **update I showered and 5 of my permanent acrylics fell off. I am currently in the process of trying to break my nail biting habit. I am so self conscious about my nails that I get panic attacks when I go into nail salons sometimes. After carefully researching and reading reviews, I decided to go to Luxor. They were AMAZING! It felt like walking into a room full of friends. The rapport with their customers is phenomenal. Dani did my nails and although they were very short and a little hard to file and paint she was patient and encouraging and made them look much cleaner. I think she could tell I was having some anxiety so she didn't try to start a conversation right away with me but was incredibly comfortable with the other staff and customers. Very unprofessional!!! I wish I could give them a zero star review it was that BAD.. I went in and got acrylics done. They were very uneven and didn't look right so I went back and complained and they CHARGED ME to get them redone, had to have my mom call them to refund my money. Then yesterday I went back to get my acrylics filled and get a pedicure they told me at 1 pm they didn't have time to fit me in because of a wedding party. I work nearby and they weren't busy. My friend happened to call to see if they were busy, this was around 4 pm, they told her she could've gotten in earlier but they had a wedding party coming in at 4:45 pm!!!! I went in 3 hours prior to this and they would not do my nails... so disrespectful that they would do this to me I am a paying customer either way if I complained or not. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!! The BEST nail salon, hands down! I would drive out of my way just to go here. All of the ladies are wonderful...they are friendly and personable and do awesome work! Their products are high quality too. I can go up to three weeks before needing a fill! That is unheard of. I've tried LOTS of different nail salons all over the place, here in Colorado and also in Southern California. There is no comparison. The salon is clean, the chairs are comfortable, lots of color choices with great high quality brands like OPI. Really, the ladies are just so nice too. Their pedi chairs are so comfy and have the massage feature, and they all work!! They always fit me in as a drop-in appointment even when they are busy.
