Luxury Auto Exchange cost me $575 for two one way tickets AND a cab ride between Minneapolis and Chicago so I could learn that these guys, though very friendly on the phone, have no problem mis-representing a 2003 530i that was verbally described one way but was so far from the truth when I got there. Here is what I was told after asking many questions over a few phone conversations with Michael... - The car was in good condition - The previous owner owned it for a long time and took good care of it - The ABS light was on due to the ABS module being removed - There was one small ding under rear trunk lid - This was a non-smokers car They picked me up at the airport (20 min away from dealership), Here's the list in order of what I found when we pulled up... - The car was already running when we pulled up. I was told battery was dead so needed a jump. - Remote for doors did not work - Rear left door didn't open. At all. - Opened drivers door, sat down, smelled like a humidor. Reeked of cigar smoke - Drivers seat broken. Right side of the 'back' was 2" farther to the rear then the left side of the seat. You're back is being forced to the right side of the car. - Check engine light on - Low coolant light on - Traction control light on - Oil pressure indicator was blinking with the car idling and there was a message on the digital dash screen that said "STOP!ENGINE OILPRESS" So. Michael explains that this can happen when a battery goes dead. He's right. It can, so I take off for a drive. Here's what I learned... - Front suspension shot. It was so loose, taking curves on and off the highway was scary - Tires shot - Brakes warped. Hit the brakes, and the car shudders to a stop So not too surprisingly, I decided I wasn't buying this car. But the best part was after I told Michael this, he starts looking up the phone number for the cab company... THEY CAN'T GIVE ME A RIDE BACK TO THE AIRPORT RIGHT NOW. There's no one that can take me. Maybe in a couple hours? There's Michael, there's another salesman, there's the guy running the place, and there's a shop full of guys in the back. NICE. In conclusion, Luxury Auto Exchange cost me $575 for two one way tickets AND a cab ride between Minneapolis and Chicago so I could learn that these guys, though very friendly on the phone, have no problem mis-representing their cars to get you there regardless of what it's costing that person in the first place. Is not disclosing information lying? I did expressly ask about it being a non-smoking car and that answer was a complete lie. Maybe next time I'll ask if every warning light on the dash is on. For God sake, do not buy a car here. Do NOT deal with George Chiarelli. The person is a con-man. I purchased a car from here and he promised to ship the car to me as I live across the country. It has been 1 month since the agreement was finalized. I have paid in full already, but my car is not here. I found out that George was lying to be about the shipment company, because he told me every week they are coming to pick up the car and they had to reschedule. But I found out the company, called them, and they said he gave them a low-ball offer to pick up the car so they never agreed to ship it! When I call him and email him, he is rude and says I am wasting his time. When I say my car has been paid in full and he agreed to ship it, he says he is a "very resourceful and diligent guy". I can use quite the opposite adjectives to describe him. He is a con-man. I am not sure if I am getting my $182,500 back I spent on my luxury car. It has been 1 month since I purchased it and he doesn't ship it. Each week he has a different excuse, and he tells me he will follow up but never does. Quite the service for buying a luxury car from "Luxury Auto XChange". Read his other reviews on here, they all say he is dishonest and doesn't provide adequate service. I agree. I have hired an attorney, the Illinois Attorney General! UPDATE: car was delivered, but with only 1 key, no mats, no books, as was supposed to be delivered. I have contacted George but he continues to lie. AND George owed me $1400 for back taxes he didn't pay for the car prior to me purchasing it, that I reluctantly paid at the DMV when I Took possession of the vehicle. After 6 months of the Attorney General prodding George and Luxury Auto XChange to send the check, they did. Guess what, I went to cash it the day after and it was a "bad" check. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The owner of this scamfactory, George, held the title to my car (which I paid for in full with a wire transfer) for THREE MONTHS so I couldn't register it or do any of the paperwork required by the state. When I mentioned, very nicely, not wanting to have to resort to calling my attorney, George began threatening me with physical violence. Telling me he is 50something years old but can still kick my ass and if I ever told one of his employees it was an emergency I speak with George again he would come and punch me in the face. I just purchased my second automobile from Luxury Auto Xchange. The first car was a white BMW 550i GT, it's a great car and it's for sale on their website. And if you're thinking about buying it, you won't go wrong! Both George and George Junior were super helpful and knowledgeable. The second car I bought from them, was a V10 M6 convertible - can you say WOW One of the great things about Luxury Auto Xchange is that if you want a BMW their the place to go and all their cars are super clean, and well equipped. Most of the BMWs have low miles and are still under warranty. I won't have to pay for oil changes, brake pads or any maintenance until 2017. I live in the area, however if your out-of-state, and ordering online I'd highly recommend this place. Great pictures and great cars! read more

I did not feel pressured into buying something I was not interested in and George Jr. worked with me within the price range I was looking in. Possibly looking at upgrading to a newer model and am definitely going back here to do the trade in when I do. Worst buying experience EVER. I called Saturday afternoon and spoke with Michael who was nice enough. I had two questions: 1. Are the two cars I am interested in available for sale?; 2. Are the cars available for a test drive? After getting a yes to both questions I told Michael I will come in Monday morning. I asked him to give me a call if either of these cars sell to save me the 70 mile trip. Monday morning I get a call from Luca to check if I am still coming. I said yes - literally leaving now, but please confirm that: 1. Both cars are still available? 2. Both cars are available for a test drive? I get a yes to both questions - "please come in, we will have them ready for you." I drive up to the dealership with my wife and it immediately strikes us that the building is located on a degrading property with literally no space for customers to park. We walked into the building and were greeted by Luca who took us to see the first car. After looking that one over we go on to see the second car located in a "different warehouse". We get there and the second car is literally jammed between a wall and another vehicle. There is barely enough space to squeeze into the driver's side. Furthermore, the vehicle battery is completely dead. We told Luca we need to see the car in a better location and he starts complaining that the process will take at least a half an hour because he has to get someone to move it and move other cars out of the way. I told him that we drove here because we are interested in making a purchase and suggested that we take the first car out for a test drive while they pull the second car out. At this point Luca starts getting irritated and tells me that there are no test drives on vehicles unless we have agreed on a purchase price. I explained to him that I cannot agree on a purchase price when the vehicle is jammed between a car and a wall (thus making it impossible to inspect) and is literally dead. He once again tells me that this is the dealer policy: "No test drives until we agree on a purchase price. Besides, if you've driven one of these before - they all drive the same." At this point my wife is dismayed and tells me we need to go. I continue our conversation and asked Luca: "remember when you called me this morning, I specifically asked you if we can test drive these cars - don't you think this would have been a good time to tell me that the only way to test drive a vehicle is by first agreeing to buy it?" Now Luca literally raises his voice and is nearly yelling at me: "I am not going to keep repeating myself - no test drives until we agree on a purchase price". Obviously we left and are never going back. Just as a reference point, I have owned about 30 high end cars in the last 15 years (including an MB S65, BMW M5 and M3, Audi S6, Range Rover, Porsche 911, etc. etc.). I have purchased from various dealers and private parties from coast to coast. I have never ever been treated this poorly at any other dealership in the country. read more

After talking to George on the phone, I ended up stopping there on my way back home from work with my car hauler to do the deal load the car and take it home to surprise my wife. I get there ( spent 10 minutes trying to find the entrance no kidding all doors were locked ) and i call the dealers phone and this guy finally opens the door and I am in. Excited enough takes me through another door inside into a garage tight jammed with cars that you can barely walk through ... Here i am trying to squeeze myself through these cars to look at the Bmw and trying to avoid scratching a car in the process i ask them to pull of the car outside to do an inspection of it. The guy disreguards my request and insist car is very clean and this is all you get to see until the deal is done... Hmm i am all questions marks in my head, like i want this car but at the same time something is telling me get the fuck out of there. So i ended up leaving and call George the next day. I told him to go ahead and run my credit which in fact told him its not on the high side because i am building it since all my previous cars i bought cash and that i will be using my dad as a cosigner and to make sure he runs our credit at one creditor so it doesnt affect the score as much. He assures me i will get approved no matter what so my excitement goes even higher.. He gets my info over the phone and tell me in few hours i ll have you approved and to come get the car. Whole day goes by i call him no answer, called him and texted him a few more times, no answer. The next day comes he calls me in the morning that we should have the deal done today. I wait the whole day again and at 5 i made another attempt with no answer... At around 7 pm i get frustrated and text him to call of the whole deal and that he is not serious... He goes of telling me excuse after another and i tell him again ok if you got the deal lets go with it, 2 min after he sends me a message he cancelled the deal??? I am thinking at this point wtf is wrong with this dude. Few days went by check my mail and get a letter from creditkarma that 3 new reports have been opened under both mine and my dads name.. our credit score was affected significantly by this.. Point is this is guy is a scam artist and his little 2x4 dealer inventory. I would not recommend to anyone, this place is a total scam and stay away if you can or buy at your own risk. read more

Just purchased the 3rd X5 from George at Luxury Auto Xchange and never had a better experience in buying a car. I felt he was fair with me in pricing and found the vehicle to be in top condition. George provided me with all documents and instruction needed to register and title out of state, even when the DMV had additional requests, George would drop anything he was doing and respond. Horrible experience! Since buying a White X6 in January the car has been in the shop 7 times, yes 7 times, once every month since we bought it for over a week each time! Thank God we bought the extended warranty, but now we have just found out our warranty will no longer be honored because the car has a branded title!!! Something that was no disclosed out right to us when we bought the car, it is in some fine print somewhere that no one reads, however if this was a reputable dealership I am sure they would have disclosed this and probably would not sell cars that have been dubbed lemons in the first place! And to top it off when we discovered this and called George back he says "oh yea I knew the title was branded, 40% of our cars have branded titles", just goes to show what kind of "businessman" you can expect to deal with when you shop a half-ass dealership! Now not only do I have a piece of shit car I have to dish out money to get a lawyer to try and gain some restitution! Steer clear of this place, they will take your money one way or another even if it means lying to you. read more

No follow up, customer service was horrendous. Read through the reviews on Cars. com. One stated that Luca had been let go, he was still there years later. Both George and Luca were unprofessional and failed to live up to promises to provide information time and time again. Eventually just stopped responding altogether. I can't imagine why a dealer wouldn't want to sell a car, but if they are this bad before the purchase, imagine if you have a problem. Trust me, don't waste your time. read more

I went to this dealer in hopes of checking out on of their cars and trading my car. Let's remember that this is a used car dealer... After seeing the car, I asked if I can test drive if. I was told that they don't let their customers test drive their cars... Only when final numbers are agreed upon, trade in and value of their car will they let customers test the car. Now I've been in the car buying side for a while, not once have I been told you can't drive our used car. I was not impressed by their customer service. Also they appraised my vehicle for 4000 dollars lower than another dealer had offered as well as autotrader and Carmax. read more

This dealer is a fraud. I liked one 2014 640i Gran Coupe BMW used car online at Luxury Auto Exchange. I called the dealership and spoke to George Jr. He was very nice over the phone and told someone is also here to buy the same car. I am from Los Angeles so I told that I can't buy the car without getting inspected. He told that you need to pay $500 to reserve the car. I said I am good and paid the $500 deposit. George promised that if you don't like the car later you can get refund any minute. I scheduled the inspection from lemonsquad.com. The lemon squad inspected the car and sent the report. The report said that the car title have isseu and had recall from the manufacturer. The problem has still not been fixed by the manufacturer. My bank refuse to give loan on this as the title is not clean. I called the dealership and explained the situation to George. George finally agreed to refund the deposit but he said call next day. I called the dealership since morning and some other person picks up the call and say they all are busy. I told him let me talk to the accounts dept, I just need to get my refund processed. He said she is busy with some more important work and we have better things to do... His rudeness started right away... George never showed up over the phone anytime. I didn't want to leave an immediate review after my purchase of 2012 BMW 650i but now, after almost 2 years of very enjoyable experience, I'd like to share my positive experience. The car I bought from Luca is a gem. I loved it the moment I looked at it. It was a very rare find (manual in 650i), and I am thankful that George and Luca cater to "always-manual clientele." What I appreciated was that my purchase experience was not overly "salesy" - it lucked typical words you expect to hear from a used car sales guys like "amazing", "once-a-lifetime", "!!!!", "I guarantee", etc... - it was very professional, to-the-point, respectful, helpful, demanding mutual respect but still allowing a hard-nosed negotiation process to take place thereby ensuring a very fair price. Upon advise of Luka I did buy an extended warranty, which I never buy. However, what he offered was basically a no-brainer and I am very glad I bought it, even though I only used the warranty once or twice, as the car appears to be bullet-proof. I still have this platinum warranty, on the balance, I probably don't care if I've spend more on it than I would do in claims - and gives me such a peace-of-mind driving a very expense vehicle. Overall, not to sugar coat, my personal experience was very good and I would definitely consider Luxury Auto Exchange in the future. read more

This notice is to advise you of unethical and immoral business practices performed by Luxury Auto Xchange, located at 4737 W 120th St Alsip, IL 60803. George is a crook. I bought a used 2014 X6 and he sold me extended warranty (CMS from Safe Guard - paid additional $3097 for it) for 7 year/ 75000 miles. After 11 months I ended up selling my X6 and sent him all required papers for filing the CMS cancellation as requested by him. After calling him so many times over 7 months to check if those cancellation of CMS was filed; he eventually filed the same after I visited his shop - Finally he paid me less amount than what he got paid back from Safe Guard (he won't accept it at all though); this I confirmed with Safe Guard team; who explained me how they calculated the refund for my CMS cancellation request - the proration charges that Safe Guard deducted also that cost me because George was sitting with my cancellation requested for over 7 months before filing the same. He is a crook guys. Don't deal with him; his used cars may be a better deal sometime based on your luck - so buy at your own risk; but definitely DO NOT BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY (CMS) from him - as if you end up selling that car for any reason in short time - you will end up losing lot of your money as this guy will play with your time, money and patience and will have absolutely a cold face to show when you show up for asking about it. LUXURY AUTO XCHANGE STOLE MY MONEY! My car buying experience with Luxury Auto Xchange continues to be a NIGHTMARE. They failed to disclose that the car I was buying was legally a "lemon" until after they received my money and the car was on the truck being shipped. After learning the truth (found within the final paperwork), I refused delivery of the car. It's a week later and they still refuse to refund my money. As you might imagine, their excuses for not issuing a refund are ridiculous. My attorney is working on our response, but in my estimation Luxury Auto Xchange represents the nightmare case study for why you should not purchase a car online. read more
