Waited by for around 10 minutes by side entrance just for porter to give me car keys. Vehicle was not dry correctly as seats were wet and damp. After several years going for service at the VW dealership in Downers Grove, and repeated long waits and "missing" reservations, I found LR in Bensenville. Wow! This was a customer service experience that has to be recognized. Irma took my call and details, and was so genuinely empathetic, caring and informative. Though there was not a rental car available immediately after my car's emergency need for service, the next day she called me with a returned loaner car. Patrick followed up the next day, asking if I wanted the detailed long list of problems or short. I requested the long version, and he patiently explained everything in layperson's terms. An expert Google researcher, I referred to my notes afterwards and further understood what was at issue. The next day he called with bad and good news; my car's warrantee covered some of the parts and labor, but not all. He walked through what needed immediate attention, and what would likely need to be addressed and repaired in 1-3 years. Did I trust his evaluation? Yes. I paid for $1200 in needed repairs, as my car is nine years old. I picked it up three days later after drop off, washed and ready to go. Throughout the process, Irma would call and update me as to the status of my car. Her humor and kindness was SO appreciated. Now I need a tune-up and cosmetic touch-ups. Had a phenomenal experience today at Larry Volkswagen, specifically with Mach Koper. Upon pulling in we were greeted and asked what we were there for. We stated we were there to test drive a new 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan R line. We were told there were many in stock. Immediately we were able to test drive the car without having to step foot in the dealer. Throughout the test drive Mach was very well educated on explaining the car and all the features. On a whim, we visited the VW dealership down the road. Right away Alex, our sales guy, came over to say hi. We told him what we were looking for, we did a test drive & told him we weren't buying that day. No problem. No pressure. He introduced us to his manager. Same thing - no pressure to buy on the spot. (Weird, right?) Alex followed up with us on our timetable, answered our questions, and made sure we weren't wasting our time if the numbers wouldn't work for us. It was such a smooth process, they were completely transparent on the numbers, no going back to his manager 8 times to "negotiate." He had everything priced out for us before we even got to the dealership. We didn't want them running our credit until we saw everything. Marijana in finance was awesome. I am so mad at this guys they are a big liars.I was wondering to get a finance for a new car i was planning to get from Larry Roesch Volkswagen in Bensenville IL.I asked the salesman Kevin Maya if they run my credit it would be a HARD or SOFT inquire,he told me it would be only a soft inquire and they will run my credit for only one bank and that what i signed off only one time.I logged in my credit karma account after a few days and saw that i got 5 HARD INQUIRIES,and that my credit score impacted by 12 points.I was very clear and asked them before they ran my credit more than once how many times they would run my credit and they told me only one time. Appointment was at 9:30 and didn't start on my car until after 11. Service was supposed to include a car wash and didn't receive that and then had to ask about the multipoint inspection in which the service tech just wrote some numbers on my paper and didn't bother to explain to me. Buyer beware. Unethical and simply dishonest. I purchased a new vehicle and my only request be that it's electric for daily commuting. I found within a short period, 600 miles, and a bit of patience that the hybrid feature does not work in cold weather. I offered to purchase a different vehicle from them and asked for a reasonable offer given that the vehicle is still new and was misrepresented. I paid $63k and they offered me $50k. Went here twice. The first time was a typical dealership experience and they fixed whatever was wrong for probably more than I'd have paid if I'd taken the time to find a decent mechanic. I don't mind the up-charge of using the dealer because I'm essentially paying for my time in this instance. The second time I returned, however, they literally charged me for a new part and didn't replace the old one. In a matter of weeks the problem returned and this time I got a recommendation of a mechanic from family friends and that mechanic took me under my car and showed me the original and never replaced part. After that my mom scolded me because she experienced this dealer (under one of their other brands) trying to sell her parts that her car didn't even have. I've had a couple issues with this dealership in the past, from buying new car(s), to my most recent visit to the service department. I took my car in for service last week regarding intermittent car starting issues. A couple hours later I received a call stating that no issue could be detected and my car was ready for pickup. As soon as I left their parking lot my car died out on Grand Ave. I didn't bother to walk over to the Service Department, I was so upset by then. I had my car towed to a certified mechanic in near by Addison. Within an hour of being at the mechanics shop I received an email with the diagnosis of my car (fuel pump, sensor) and a written estimate. The mechanic did not want to talk bad about another shop but did say the problem was easily detected if the technician was experienced. Whats most upsetting to me is the fact that I had to pay for a tow truck and a rental car for a couple of days. My car was already at their Service Department. All of this could of been avoided, in my opinion, if Service Department staff would of been more thorough, or just done their job. Unacceptable! My car was there on 1/9/2020 at 8:00 am. * I emailed a video of my car acting up to the Service Department Manager when I initially dropped my car off. read more

Extremely POOR customer service at the Service Department. This is now my second time bringing my car in and I let it go the first time but to have a similar experience like the first time is completely unacceptable. I leased my car last year and when my lease is up and IF I decide to get another Volkswagon it will definitely NOT be at this dealership. It is important to have a good service department. They should be trained in customer service!!!! However, when an employee gets loud when speaking to you that is where I draw the line. I simply asked how long would it take to look at my issue and George said "I don't know maybe an hour or more" I said well I made an appointment and if it would be longer do you have a vehicle I could use? No response and mind you didn't even say good morning or what is your name. Just looked at me and said nothing. I had to be the one to let him know why I was bringing my car in. By the way my issue was with the oil light signal it said it was overheating and mind you my car is only a year old. I have had Audi's & Saab's and the service department always treated me well. They gave 5 star service. Not at this dealership! To be honest other customers were complaining when I was there too! Very disappointing and organized facility. read more

After hours of waiting she offered me a 17% interest rate. I fortunately thought that was too high even for a new buyer. Ending up going to another dealer that had me in and out within an hour with an interest rate of 7.99 The worst part about this dealer is that the finance manager ran my credit to over 10 banks. I had a really great experience with them from start to finish. I basically bought the car online, went it to look at it and drove off, without fully inspecting the little things (I know better, but nonetheless). The General Manager followed up on my purchase and I honestly told him that I was a little mad at myself for not noticing some things and while I know they had no obligation, I wish they would have been disclosed. They had me come back in and gave me a loner and fixed these minor, minor issues free of charge. They had no obligation to, but did. I also want to state that I bought a Chevy Trax one week before GM announced a halting of production, and had been shopping for the exact car I wanted and found it here. I actually got a REALLY GOOD PRICE for it being utterly the worst time to buy a car. I got a really good price for a good market. Financing also worked hard and is super nice. All in all, the way they handled the situation impressed me and I likely will buy a car from them again down the road. They have integrity, which was a surprise. I want to give them a 3 star but I have to go four just because they sold me a fabulous car a couple years ago named Maxwell and he is such a good boy that I cant complain to much but.... I did have to bring Maxwell into the car dealer the other day for a recall and to get his oil changed. I brought him in at about 10:45 and was told it would take 2 hours.So after 2 hours I finally called to see if he was done and the man said it would be another 45 minutes.So I get dropped off 45 minutes later and they tell me its going to be another 10 minutes.I'm so mad since its kind of ruined my whole day and now I still have to wait.I had sh** to do! So I sit in the waiting room ,waiting and waiting,and run into an old friend,thank god cause it made the time go by.After another 30 mins. Max is ready!!! The oil change was only $43 which I thought was pretty cheap for the dealers prices so I was happy about that. I hope next time I visit Maxwell will get first class treatment instead of 3rd. read more

I love his enthusiasm for the cars he sells. He provided one of the most informative test drives I've ever been on (I've owned 2 other new cars). Kevin never pulled the classic "car sales person" moves on me and I never felt pressured. "So, did you buy the car?" you ask. No, unfortunately I did not, but it had nothing to do with the experience or Kevin. It came down to my fiscally responsible side deciding I wasn't ready to dive into a brand new car (yet). If everything was so great, why didn't I give the dealership and Kevin 5 stars? Typical car dealership. My family has purchased 3 vehicles and leased an additional 4 over the past decade plus. My most recent least was for 4 years. At the time of signing I was informed the warranty only covered 3 years. Why on earth would a lease not be covered for the entire duration!?!? It's in the manufacturers best interest that a leased vehicle is maintained in the best condition for resale. No worries though!!!! They offer an "extended warranty" to cover the additional term of the lease! And it only costs you an additional $20/month!! Now towards the end of my lease term (only 2 months left on my lease). My car is over 10,000 miles under my mileage limit but needs service. I called in. The service desk says my car isn't covered. I get transferred to finance, they "reassure" me all service & maintenance IS covered. I get transferred back to service, schedule my appointment. Took in the car the next day only to find out oil changes aren't covered. So much for the Larry Roesch "family" they proclaim in their advertisements. Upon turn in I will NEVER return here. Shady sales tactics synonymous with all car dealers and a terrible way to treat long time customers. read more

From Mpls and found a car that I wanted to purchase from the Larry Roesch dealership. I worked with the General Sales Mgr Chuck who was great to work with. The car that I was selling did not sell yet, so I was looking at other options and had emailed Chuck that I was 'reconsidering' my purchase of the car and asked if they could get any closer on the numbers. Eric Lee - General Manager, made an assumption that I did not want to purchase the vehicle any longer and put it back out for sale last night. Mind you I had put $1000 down and had all of the details worked out with Chuck and confirmed in an email - including him advising that the hold was good till Saturday May 30th when we would be picking up the car. Yesterday afternoon I received an email that they could offer interest free financing. So, this morning I wanted to discuss the interest free financing so the paperwork could be done prior to me picking up the car. This morning I sent two emails, left a voicemail and finally had Chuck paged. He informed me that Eric had decided to put the car back out on the lot and that there was a couple from Indiana on there way right then to test drive and purchase the car. I asked him when they were going to tell me and he said it was really busy. But if the people purchased the vehicle today he would refund my money. I also left a message for Eric. He called me back AFTER the people had purchased the car. If I had not continued to call, I am not sure they would have ever notified me until I arrived at their dealership - 6 hours away, that the car had been sold. At no time did I say I did not want the car, in fact every email states I am working out the details with them . And lets not forget - I have a hold on the car and money down on it till Saturday. When Eric called he asked for my charge card so he could refund my money. He did not even say the car had been sold, I had to ask. He could not disagree with me that he waited to make sure the car was sold to refund my money. Eric was totally unethical to deal with. He certainly does NOT represent the 90 year family tradition that this dealership was built on. Save yourself a lot of time and frustration, there has to be better dealerships in the area. read more

I traded my Beetle for a new Jetta Sport Wagon. Great trade in and a really fair price on the new wagon. The Beetle was faster but both got 32mpg. I closed the deal in a couple of hrs from test drive to financing at 2.5% and out the door. They will wash my car daily and take care of all my maintenance for 6yrs including oil changes.
