Eddie and his crew were punctual, the time he told me is the time they showed up. They made sure to protect my flooring and other items in the house the best they could. I have had prior experience with other contractors who did nothing to protect anything in my house. They showed up and took care of business every day, and they cleaned up after themselves the best they could, which I greatly appreciated. A HUGE plus is Eddie has his own large dump trailer, which made things very easy in keeping things clean and orderly throughout the project. As the demo was going, the old material was easily going out, and there was no clutter or debris laying around anywhere whatsoever, which I greatly appreciated. Eddie kept me informed of everything almost on a daily basis, something I was not used to from other experiences but I felt was a phenomenal approach. I felt very involved in the project, even though I was not doing anything labor wise lol! Any small setback or anything unexpected thrown our way, Eddie made sure to show me proof in various ways there were certain things neither he or I could control. Even though I did not ask that from him, again I thought it was a very professional and courteous approach to doing business. I was very pleased with the remodel, Eddie made sure to double check everything, he customized everything to our liking... He went so far as to make my wife sit down in her makeup vanity area, and make sure the height of all the switches, lights, etc were exactly how she wanted them, before installing anything. I cannot say enough of how I highly recommend Eddie and his team for whichever project you are thinking of doing. You lose absolutely nothing with at least giving him a chance to look at your project, and see what he has to offer. I guarantee you his approach is much better and different than others. This wasn't just a cosmetic remodel. The bathroom was completely gutted, and the electrical and plumbing were updated and reconfigured, including relocating the light switches and adding new lighting. We removed the old bathtub and created a beautiful walk-in shower, enlarged the shower window, added a built-in bench and niche, and completely updated the tile, flooring, vanity, fixtures, and finishes. The tile work is absolutely beautiful, and the attention to detail throughout the bathroom is incredible. We were able to choose everything we wanted, and Bryce and his team brought our vision to life even better than I expected. One of the things I appreciated most about Bryce was how involved he was throughout the entire project. He came by every day to check on the progress, and he was hands-on with the work himself. He was always easy to talk to and approachable, and whenever we had a question, he took the time to answer it. They are very demanding when it comes to scheduling, manpower, completing work, and responding quickly, but that same urgency has not been shown when it comes to paying their subcontractors. As subcontractors, we have payroll, suppliers, material costs, insurance, and other expenses that have to be paid regardless of whether the general contractor pays us on time. Going six months without payment puts a tremendous burden on a small business. I would strongly recommend that any subcontractor considering working with Nandco Construction make sure payment terms are clearly documented, stay on top of preliminary notices and lien rights, and carefully consider how much exposure they are willing to carry. Coordinator Jay was a gem. She worked to keep everything going on time. The team worked efficiently to get the work done. Now the Bad: I did not know I had to buy everything from windows to doors to sinks to vanities. That is at least 10% of the contract value. Finally the Ugly: I did not know I have to find separate contractors for awnings, solar panels and the driveway. I think that is too much for a person who is not working in the construction business to negotiate all those subcontracts.

(Main bathroom demo, remodel, and closet addition)…read more After losing a deposit with a contractor who gave me a quote ranging from 80k-150k for a whole house remodel, it took 3 years before I felt comfortable enough to find a new contractor who would remodel one bathroom in desperate need. I'd contacted various firms: some felt my budget was too small and others didn't even call back. I was very cautious about the whole situation. I met with Sandra and Esvin to discuss what I wanted. I stopped by their showroom which was nicely done and that sold me on the quality of their work. Sandra was very knowledgeable and was able to help me narrow down the design based on what would pass inspection. She also laid out the law for me about when contractors could accept payments and how they're usually spaced out. I told her my budget and she was able to work with it. They even pulled the permits which the previous contractor wanted me to do! I worked a lot with Wendy who was super helpful with my endless questions-including input on design options. Since I wasn't working with an architect, designer, or even a floor plan, her accessibility was very helpful and reassuring. The proposal was laid out a la carte so there was a lot of flexibility in choosing my materials and removing elements I no longer wanted. The Vasquez crew is skilled and hardworking and the whole project was completed in about 2 months. The entire project stayed on budget with the only changes they proposed were fixing a section of the bathroom (which was an addition) that had been poorly attached to the main house (you could see through a gap to the outside) and budget increases were because of my own design choices (which I don't regret!). The experience wasn't perfect so it wouldn't be right to review it as such--but the issues I ran into were so miniscule that I don't feel it's even worth knocking down a star because they could have been easily resolved with more communication and questions from my end. There were a few small hiccups: -a doorway into the bathroom from the main bedroom that was initially proposed didn't fit so had to be removed from the design altogether. -The city didn't approve a light i had wanted to be installed over the tub and somewhere in excitement of a new bathroom I didn't get the message - the window I wanted had been discussed with Esvin, and was telephoned to Wendy so the one that arrived weeks after the initial conversation wasn't what I initially wanted but waiting on it would have been a 6-week delay and I chose to settle for the window that was available to keep the project moving. -the cleanup wasn't included. A plastic sheeting had been draped over my furniture but it was very light and while it kept a lot of dust away, there was still a lot of dust I had to clean up, as well as debris (tile bits, dust, buckets, etc.) in the side yard. As a first-time homeowner, this was my first true experience with a remodel and I am happy with the process and the outcome. I'm already planning out my other projects and look forward to working with them.
