We actually did recommend this store to people that we know who collect albums and they were happy that we did!

She tried to convince me that a collectible was complete in box when it was visibly showing slots for parts that were empty. She told me those are for the parts on the figure and i took her at her word. I felt at-ease when she told me I had 30 days to return it for a full refund. I asked if I could return it to the entertainmart in Saint Joseph (also a joke of a business) because I live an hour north of here. She said yes! After some online research I see the figure is indeed missing parts. 6 in total. I called the Saint Joseph Entertainmart to make sure what Olha told me was correct. She verified and told me to bring them in. I was greeted by a guy that told me to head to register 1 for my refund. I went to register 1 and was next in line when the cashier just walked out of the store without saying anything to me. Not hold on, excuse me, NOTHING! Then after 10 minutes the guy walks in and says the district manager told him I cannot return the items because they are used. One was brand-new according to vintage stock and the other was used. They told me I could take them back to zona rosa and get my refund. How convenient! I'm at work so I ask my wife to take them back for me. The guy working the counter immediately said, "didn't the Sain't joseph store already tell you No on this return". My wife said, "actually the saint joseph store said to bring them back here." When asked by the male worker why Olha told me I could return these items she exclaimed, "I never said that!" They basically told my wife tough luck and have a nice day. To sum it up, Not only are the employees at these stores untrained. They are also liars with terrible customer service skills. They reserve the right to refuse a return, even if it's a legit return, as they see fit. The manager has the final say on a case by case basis according to their online website, which is full of grammatical and spelling errors which adds to the sketch of this business. Olha, learn what your store policy is, don't blurt stuff out of your mouth if it isn't true. Cause seriously, this place is awesome…read more They sell everything from authentic replicas of game items (think: Sora's Keyblade, Link's double-edged sword, even the DRAGONBALLS from DragonBall Z), old school records, posters, CDs, DVDs/Blu-Rays, and anything remotely related to gaming. Availability of different things vary widely by store, of course, but I've seen Sega Dreamcasts, GameBoy Colors, the original Pokemon Blue/Green/Red/Yellows, and just about anything else vintage that has gone back into the vault. These stores really are your opportunity to pick up timeless classics for just about anything that satisfies your inner nerd. The best part, though? They'll gladly buy any old video game, comic book, DVD, CD, action figures, etc. from you. Yes, they flip it around in their store and yes, they only give you 20% of what THEY value the item as, but it certainly beats dumping it in a box and sending it off to Goodwill since you can get some value back out of it (note: not saying that donating to Goodwill is a bad thing, cause it isn't). I took around 40 old Blu-Rays into one of their stores a few weeks ago and walked away with $60 in cash. Not bad. You also have the option to get store credit instead for an extra 20-25% in value (I forget the exact figure). Pretty sweet business model for both parties, if you ask me. Really, the only downside I've seen here are the pricing of their items. It's a bit scattered at times. They have some good deals tucked away in there, sure, but a lot of things that are currently being sold in stores will sell for a similar prices elsewhere. For example, Blu-Rays. Their pricing for newly-released Blu-Rays--even if the item IS used--will be similar to what you can get off Amazon or at Best Buy. But some may be lower, some may be higher, it just seems to be the luck of the draw for which titles get discounted/marked up. Pricing on vintage items are quite subjective, though, as some may think $30 for the old Pokemon Red is a steal while some may scoff at the price. TL;DR: If you're looking for a specific gaming/electronics piece that's a timeless classic and/or not on the retail shelves anymore, Vintage Stock is THE spot. You may have to hit up multiple locations, but chances are, they'll have what you're looking for. Additionally, if you're looking to get some salvage value out of old collectibles or electronics you have laying around, they'll gladly buy it off you for cash as well. Happy shopping, nerds!

Some of them are nice and polite however they are notorious for lowballing you when you are selling to them, I had waited for 30 minutes to form an account with this guy who took his sweet time getting me an account that I didn't even want that I had to have in order to sell what I wanted to sell, and the guy offered me $2 for 400 Pokémon cards which I thought was insulting, the guy was nice and all, however he acted like my collection wasn't worth five cents alone five dollars, I walked in there, hoping to sell them for five bucks and I started high at 15 and was fully expecting him to give me an offer for five and he gave me a two dollar offer so I just bought a couple volumes of anime, declined his offer and left, that was at the Shawnee location, and at this location, I had tried to sell a massive tub of anime because I had Crunchyroll at the time and I didn't feel like I needed them anymore, and I had spent years working hard at my workplace accumulating all of this anime over several paychecks and spent tens and thousands of dollars of my what little I had left of my paycheck on anime, and the guy (this is at the Metcalf location it's a different guy) casually dismissed me with a $100 offer and a look that told me to Pi$$ off as if he was above it all, some of the workers at both of these locations are very nice, but both locations have employees who act like their above everyone else and that their job is beneath them, as if I'm wasting their time, I have been a regular vintage stock for years, and I have never been treated like this before until I moved here from Kentucky, and I'm not exaggerating or being to dramatic , I don't feel like a valued customer vintage stock anymore, some of the employees make you feel welcomed while the other half of them make you feel like you don't belong there, this should be a safe place for nerds from several different communities to come together and buy sell and trade items without feeling like you're not welcome there.

Some are new, some are used. Place is packed with records from one end to the other and you have to navigate in/around the people there which is how it was done in the old days. I remember finding 'The Information Society' in downtown Lawrence as a teen, was funny to me in that I was picking up They Might Be Giants first release, and the Big Science release from Laurie Anderson. Things I did in the late 1980s once before. I hate feeling like some old person saying 'back in my day' but there is a sense of contentment to flip through a huge selection of sounds, seeing things and deciding if based just on the cover if it's worth spending your hard earned money on. Something playing over head selected by someone who works there, finding something new, it was a shared experience that I think we miss now with everything algorithmic and solo. The only downside being that it's hard to balance a solid selection in a physical location, I'm sure compared to 'online' but there's nothing quite like flipping through records and finding something you were looking for. Solid pricing for a retail location in downtown, you're not going to buy 11 records for a penny like Columbia house but you won't be disappointed with the selection and the hunt.
