This was the first time I've been in a barbershop in 20 years. I've been shaving my head for the last twenty years, so there's really been no reason to see a barber. That all changed with this appointment. Set aside anything involving how nice it truly is to have someone take care of you. While he's absolutely amazing at this aspect of his job, where he really shines is the personal touch he provides during the process, which will be a unique experience for each individual. He was able to keep me relaxed while taking a straight razor to my face. That deserves an award in itself. I will absolutely be returning in the near future for another shave and haircut. I've decided that it was such an overwhelmingly positive experience, I will have to start coming on a monthly basis. It is well worth it. If you're looking to get a haircut, and pamper yourself a little, I can recommend no better way to do so than stepping inside this oasis in northeast Minneapolis. Great job, guys! read more

Jonny was on point. I just landed in Minneapolis and didn't have an appointment. I called and they said a walk in would work. Only waited for 3-5 minutes. Jonny took his time, straight razor on the neck and for the beard line. My hair is easy, it's a buzz all the way around. Jonny made sure every hair was as short as possible. Very friendly atmosphere. I decided to go to LV's barbershop after seeing the good rating. After getting the worst, and most humiliating haircut of my life, I now wish I had gone somewhere else. I had been growing my hair for a while, my bangs were down to my lips. Mostly, because I saw a hairstyle I *really* liked online, and I wanted to make sure my hair was the right length for it. I went in to LV's with a picture on my phone of the hairstyle I wanted. The two immediate red flags should have been a sign enough to go somewhere else. The barber (a tall, African-American guy), barely glanced at the picture I showed him (multiple times). And he oriented the seat away from the mirror, making sure I couldn't see him butchering my hair. You can see the horrifying results in the pictures. It looks like a 2 year old took safety scissors to my head. He cut the hair WAY too short. Didn't add, ANY texture whatsoever. The hair on the back of my head is cut into jagged edges as you can see. Not only, does it seem like he didn't look at the reference picture, it seems as if he had his eyes closed the entire time! Oh and the cherry on top- I got charged extra for a "style". Hah! I wonder what is bar set for skill level to work at this barbershop. I intend to never step foot in this barbershop again. I advise you to stay away as well. read more

Explained what kind of cut I wanted and showed the guy pics, but he missed the mark completely. It does not resemble a brush fade or the pics I showed him. Don't do a walk-in, even if you call and they're empty, people will come in ahead of you by the time you drive over. I waited over 30 mins. Next time I'll make an appointment. There are credit card stickers but they only take cash and have an ATM. I'll give them a second chance (with another barber) only because $20 is a good deal, it's close to my residence and the guys were cool. read more

I had a bad cut from another place out of town (3hrs away). I'm from out of town and saw the previous review about undercuts, etc. I had previously wanted a certain style but the stylist didn't seem to have much experience with buzzing hair and precision. I had almost had a heart attack when I saw the horrible state of my hair. So glad I came to LV's to get it fixed! I was a walk-in so I waited a while since it was a Saturday - no biggie, it was very last minute of me. I watched everyone work and do an awesome job on all of their clients. Allow me to first preface my review by saying that I have been to SEVERAL establishments in the Twin Cities area (barbershops and salons alike) in search of both a high quality atmosphere AND a high quality cut at a fair price. I've been through everything from crooked lineups to botched beard trimmings; I've even walked out of a couple of places based on lack of cleanliness alone. That said, I've been nothing but impressed with my experiences at LV's thus far. I've only worked been worked on by LV himself, but the other Master Barbers in the shop always appear to be delivering the same high quality service to each of their clients as well. The shop itself is clean and well-cared for, signs are posted all around reminding patrons to be respectful in their behavior and use of language, and fliers promoting community events and services are also abundant. LV is a great conversationalist and a damn good barber besides. In short, I wish I'd found LV's a long time ago. Highly recommended to all ladies and gentlemen in need of a comfortable spot to get a fresh and clean look. read more

LV's Barbershop is probably the best one I gone to so far. I somewhat recently cut my hair super short and found that it would be best to go to a barber for it. I was a little scared and hesitant to try a barbershop, but LV was super kind and courteous, as we're the other barbers! I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. A GREAT place to get an undercut! I would go here over an overrated "high-end" hair shop - LV knows his stuff. Took my sister here to get herself a trendy undercut/fade and he did a bomb job, all for $15! LV answered the phone and was polite and NICE, something that we didn't encounter when calling other places. Definitely recommend for any females out there looking to get a clean undercut/fade without paying the ridiculous $50-80 that the high-end salons have you charging for half the conversation or quality. First time got a pretty decent bald fade and the stylish was nice and talked alot, seemed like a cool guy. 2nd time waited a hour, some of the barbers seemed like they were avoiding cutting my hair, they would get done and walk away or sit and listen to music and wait like 20 mins for their next appointment to show. Finally got one of them to give me a cut he was decent but it felt rushed was done in 15 mins while waiting everybody else got at least 30 min cuts. I was driving out of my way cause of the good reviews but probly not gonna make the trek again.
