LYDIA IS A LIFE CHANGER. Looked into her initially for wedding dress alterations to understand my options, and never looked back. I came to Lydia understanding that I was shit outta luck. I had received a dress with sizing that was extremely off (brides, this is your warning to not order online) and she made the impossible possible - my dress went from being ill fitted to fitting like a glove. It was engineering magic! I cannot recommend her enough, and will be going to her for all of my future alterations. Lydia, I am forever grateful to you and your patience with me! Thank you for all of the great chats and being your wonderful self. To all the folks looking for alterations, Lydia is IT! Just make sure you give her enough time to make your alterations so it isn't stressful for either of you haha.

Working with Lydia on my wedding dress was an absolute dream. Her accuracy and delicate craftsmanship brought my wedding dress to life with such elegance. She guided me through every fitting with care and commitment, making sure every detail was perfect. Thanks to her, I felt truly confident and beautiful on my special day she made me look and feel amazing!

Lydia was so fun to work with! I came with a dress that was adjustable and does not look flattering on a petite sized body like mine. She problem solved the best way to work with the dress and make it look snatch and made for me despite the state of the fit of the dress was on me. I enjoyed our appointments and she also gave tips to make my bust look amazing for wedding day! Highly recommend her and I'd come back for any alterations in the future!

Lydia is transparent and very reasonably priced, great at her job, listens, and is attentive to details. I had no idea I had gotten a dress two sizes too big and Lydia was fully transparent with me on what she could and couldn't do given my dress style and fabric, how long it would take, and the cost, all on the very first appointment! She has great attention to detail and my dress fit like a glove the entire night.

Lydia is absolutely amazing! I brought her my wedding dress that needed a lot of fixes and alterations, and she handled everything perfectly. She even meticulously fixed the lace, which was unbelievable. I'm so happy with how my dress turned out. Meeting with her was honestly a highlight of my planning process, she is real and honest. She's an amazing person and a talented professional and I can't recommend her enough.

I believe Lydia is magic. She is truly amazing at what she does! I am forever grateful to her. I brought in a dress 3 sizes larger that didn't even look like a wedding dress on me, but I had to wear this dress on my wedding day. It was really an amazing journey working with her. She took the time to understand you, your body shape, your wants and needs. Of course all of this will a little bit of feedback. It was all like a puzzle. I met with her for weeks trying on, altering, section by section on every part of the dress. Then my final fitting she met my family and it was a final goodbye. The day of my wedding my dress fit my body customized just for me. If you come across her page it was meant to be. Thank you Lydia!

Lydia added cute little pleats that really elevated my simple train!

Lydia truly made my experience so lovely from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel so comfortable, like I'd known her for years, and she honestly felt like family. She's also incredibly honest and will tell you like it is, which I really appreciated and trusted. My dress fit perfectly, and you can immediately tell she's an expert at her craft. Her attention to detail really shows, and I couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend her.

Lydia was amazing. My dress turned out perfectly. She added sleeves, hemmed the skirt, and accommodated additional late requests at a very reasonable price. My dress held up beautifully through dancing, a million hugs, and trekking around outdoors during photos. She was a joy to work with and I will miss her now that my wedding is over I absolutely recommend Lydia for any alterations needed.

Lydia did wonderful work on my wedding dress. It fit like a glove and I had no issues the day of. Since it was a strapless dress, she made sure the dress wasn't going anywhere and that it hugged in all the right places. She is very detail oriented, transparent on the work she is doing to the dress, progress she's made at each try on visit, and what additional work still needed to be done. She will be honest with you on what looks good, what works, and what doesn't. She even took the time to teach me how to handle and transport the dress since the fabric was more prone to wrinkles. I received so many compliments and the photos turned out beautiful as well. You will need to make time to go a few times throughout to try on the dress a few times as she works on making the alterations, but that is because she wants to make sure it fits in the best way possible. So make sure to dedicate the time and schedule time with Lydia well in advance to get on her schedule!

Wow, where do I start?? I was referred to Lydia by a friend because I needed a bustle done do my wedding dress. Unlucky for me, my dress that I ordered came in at the end of April and my wedding was mid June. I was getting rejected left and right by other tailor shops as the nature of my dress requires a bit of work. Lydia, although was already swamped with a busy wedding season, took me in to accommodate me! When I went in, I expected only for my bustle to be done, she noticed that my sleeve needed to be cut to look more fitting to my body. She not only took care of my dress, but she had a lot to offer when it comes to suggestions of what will and won't look good when it comes to alterations to your dress. Another super helpful thing she did was suggest different types of bustles and even showed my MOH how to properly bustle my dress! Can't thank Lydia enough for all that she's done to help me look amazing on my special day. Definitely highly recommend to other brides looking for some alterations! She's also super duper affordable! Pro-tip: the sooner you know you need adjustments, let her know and don't wait till the last minute! Don't swamp her with a tailoring job a month before, she gets super busy!

Lydia is incredible, she was able to take my wedding dress to the next level by making it fit perfectly to my body and wear comfortably throughout my big day. I first met her at the top of this year and while this was not any easy dress to work with, she was able to see me for all my fittings and make the necessary adjustments weeks before my ceremony. Lydia is thorough and puts her clients first to ensure they receive the best quality results. She was also able to take my husband's suit and hem it to his measurements, so now he has a suit to wear for years. You will not find someone like Lydia just anywhere! She is also very responsive. I would recommend her to anyone looking for alterations.

As first-time customers, we decided to trust Green Leaf Cleaners because the owner was very confident and experienced in his work. We disclosed that the comforter required delicate care, as it was made with silk, to which he stated he handles delicate materials all the time. To our surprise, after we had picked up the item and brought it home, we inspected three holes about one inch long on certain areas of the cover where there were "flowers" stitched on, as well as several smaller sized holes. I understand that as a business owner, you must protect yourself by not admitting fault when we brought to your attention that your machines may have caused damage to our item. We could have demanded the current market value of the comforter as compensation, which is $500, but chose not to. Instead of taking accountability, you denied our allegations and instead offered to repair the holes as a "courtesy" because we showed up as first-time customers, as if you were doing us a favor. With our intention of showing you the damage, not only the big holes but also the smaller-sized ones, you portrayed a negative attitude by chuckling and shaking your head when we were pointing out the small holes. With that behavior, we believed that we couldn't entrust you to repair our comforter anymore. We appreciate that in the end you agreed to give us a partial refund of $50. However, you first said that (1) you didn't have cash and (2) you needed to contact the credit card company to issue the refund, as you didn't know how to, therefore asking us to return in a day or two. We asked for it in writing for reassurance. I suppose you didn't like the idea because you ended up handing us $50 in cash. I have respect for what you do as a small business owner, working tirelessly on so many items every day. It's not easy work, and I can tell you take pride in what you do. However, I suggest that you work on your integrity and take personal responsibility, having money-back guaranteed policies for your business, and most importantly evaluating your empathy and customer service. To customers out there: take pictures of your item before you bring it to this business, and be prepared that they will only partially compensate if your item incurs damages.

When it finally came to discussing compensation, the owner said they would only pay $100-200. This is outrageous, considering the hoodie cost me over $900. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner even threatened to call the police on me, saying I was "disturbing" their business, when all I wanted was a fair solution. Since they refused to resolve it, I filed a Small Claims Court case. Nearly a year later, the judge ruled in my favor and awarded me the compensation I deserved. This whole experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional. If you ever face a similar situation, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself--take it to Small Claims Court and let the law protect your rights. Avoid this place at all costs.

Her inability to properly schedule appointments and have projects completed on time disqualifies "Said with Threads, LLC" as a viable option for having clothing alterations performed. If you are an East Bay resident and need alterations performed, please read the rest of this review before scheduling an appointment with this establishment. I've been going to Eileen since December 2024. Online reviews looked good, and her shop was near my house, which made it convenient for me. I encountered an odd issue with her during my first visit. She had informed me my pants were ready for pickup, and I specified the day/time I would be coming in. When I went to her shop for pickup, I called, and she informed me she had gone to deliver an order for someone else because she didn't think I would appear on time. I was completely baffled as to why she reached this conclusion and why she admitted it verbally. Between September and October 2025, I had requested that she perform alterations on some pants. On this occasion I was charged the day I left the articles with her and was assured they'd be ready on the date she had specified. Prior to picking them up, I called Eileen and informed her I was on my way. When she answered, she told me my pants were not ready and that she hadn't even started working on them. I was quite upset over this since more than a week had passed since I'd left the pants with her. About a month later, I brought in a blazer she had worked on previously and asked her to reattach the buttons, as some of them had come loose. Although she did not charge me for this, she assured me the blazer would be ready on time. She failed to have the blazer ready on time when I went to her shop. I went to go run some errands for about an hour, and when I came back, she had finished working on my blazer. This indicated that she did not need more than a week to work on my blazer and had procrastinated or otherwise failed to make good use of her time. What frustrated me, however, was the condition in which she returned my blazer. It was covered in lint/hair/debris and had a strange odor to it. I had dry-cleaned it prior to leaving it with Eileen, and her utter lack of regard for keeping it clean really upset me. Most recently, during December 2025, I requested an appointment two days in advance. I wanted her to hem some pants I needed for work. She had agreed to meet me at 11 am on a Wednesday. On the day of the appointment, I called her to let her know I had arrived. When she answered, she told me she had mistakenly marked my appointment for a different time/day and had left to attend to another client.

I needed to get my wedding dress altered (hemmed) and I looked up "wedding dress alterations" on yelp, came across two 5-star reviews and since I live nearby, I decided to give Seams to Me a call and set an appointment. When I called, they seemed surprised that I'd even heard of them, they admitted that they don't do many wedding dresses any more.. In their workshop it seemed they were working on a bunch of kids clothes. It looked like they were working for someone who buys American Apparel kids clothes in bulk and then has the two sisters sew on felt decals and decorations to 'dress-up' the plain onesies and baby hoodies. Looked like stuff you'd find at a booth at some funky farmer's market or street festival, near the homemade soaps ;-) Not my style, but who am I to judge?!? They must be doing well b/c they seemed busy & had TONS of clothes piling up for this chick to come pick-up. Anyhow, (back to my wedding dress~) they mentioned that they used to have a lot of wedding dress business but now they are mainly working for this kiddie vendor. I used their bathroom to put on my dress and they had many suggestions. Since my dress had a very low-back, they took me in at the bust + alongside the waist so that I could go w/out wearing a bra at my beach wedding (BIG plus...) they hemmed the dress so that I could wear w/my flat flip flops and added a bustle so that the train wouldn't drag when we were in the sand and on the dance floor. All great suggestions (I had no clue about where to begin w/my alterations~) They worked w/my time frame and at the end, the cost was $300 to alter the dress. Seemed pricey, but I since have NO experience w/wedding dress alterations, I had no point of comparison.. My dress was purchased at the Wedding Warehouse discount place off Stevenson for about $750 so I just SLIGHTLY went over my 'wedding dress budget' of $1,000 ($50 bucks over-- not a big deal) Overall I was really happy w/my dress. It fit me perfectly once altered and I was SUPER comfy on my wedding day which I guess is all that really matters :-)

This makes it difficult to address problems after the fact, since you've already paid regardless of the outcome. The overall experience has also declined. Instead of returning items neatly steamed on hangers with protective covering, they now hand them back folded in a paper bag. It feels rushed and lacks the care they used to provide.
