The reviews were pretty positive so I felt good coming here. Located in a plaza right near Safeway, parking is abundant and free so no concern there. It can get busy in here. I arrived on a weekday after work and there was one person in front of me, but I was quickly helped out afterward. They had me try on the dress and got to working pining everything down. Once I reviewed their pinning, I changed back into my regular clothes, paid, and left. Drop off and pick up is really easy. My dress after alterations turned out great and I'd happily come here again for any alterations need.

I get home and I examine my dress and they were supposed to CUT THE BOTTOM because it was too long for me to walk. It looks like cheaply cut like a 2nd grader cut with scissors.... So unprofessionally done... I came back 4/24/25 and ask Rose what happened and she said its not my fault its just dust.. Your shoes are dirty. I told her my wedding shoes are NEW!!!! Everything when i try is new. This stain is from you guys!!!! Her inability to properly schedule appointments and have projects completed on time disqualifies "Said with Threads, LLC" as a viable option for having clothing alterations performed. If you are an East Bay resident and need alterations performed, please read the rest of this review before scheduling an appointment with this establishment. I've been going to Eileen since December 2024. Online reviews looked good, and her shop was near my house, which made it convenient for me. I encountered an odd issue with her during my first visit. She had informed me my pants were ready for pickup, and I specified the day/time I would be coming in. When I went to her shop for pickup, I called, and she informed me she had gone to deliver an order for someone else because she didn't think I would appear on time. I was completely baffled as to why she reached this conclusion and why she admitted it verbally. Between September and October 2025, I had requested that she perform alterations on some pants. On this occasion I was charged the day I left the articles with her and was assured they'd be ready on the date she had specified. Prior to picking them up, I called Eileen and informed her I was on my way. When she answered, she told me my pants were not ready and that she hadn't even started working on them. I was quite upset over this since more than a week had passed since I'd left the pants with her. About a month later, I brought in a blazer she had worked on previously and asked her to reattach the buttons, as some of them had come loose. Although she did not charge me for this, she assured me the blazer would be ready on time. She failed to have the blazer ready on time when I went to her shop. I went to go run some errands for about an hour, and when I came back, she had finished working on my blazer. This indicated that she did not need more than a week to work on my blazer and had procrastinated or otherwise failed to make good use of her time. What frustrated me, however, was the condition in which she returned my blazer. It was covered in lint/hair/debris and had a strange odor to it. I had dry-cleaned it prior to leaving it with Eileen, and her utter lack of regard for keeping it clean really upset me. Most recently, during December 2025, I requested an appointment two days in advance. I wanted her to hem some pants I needed for work. She had agreed to meet me at 11 am on a Wednesday. On the day of the appointment, I called her to let her know I had arrived. When she answered, she told me she had mistakenly marked my appointment for a different time/day and had left to attend to another client.

Initially, the plan was to have the dress done in 3-4 visits but it ended up being a total of 10 (!!!!) appts... literally up until the week before leaving for my wedding. First few visits, I'd bring something in looking for changes and he'd just tell me it looks fine. I was new to wearing nicer suits so wasn't sure what the fit should be like. No pressure, I was the one searching for things to alter. That told me everything I needed to know about him and left a great first impression. He did two suits during a really busy season, no issues. Then recently turned around a suit and a dress shirt in two days when he had a full week to do it. Even the initial week timeline was short, considering my alteration requests. Everything comes back steamed and neatly packaged. He gives honest advice, takes measurements, and doesn't charge you for every little thing like some places do. The details really make the outfit, minor adjustments across all my nicer clothing really brought everything together. I'm grateful I found this spot, it's fair and great value. I was immediately greeted by Ali who treated me kindly, professionally, and guided me through the process with the immense range of clothes I brought from pea coats to jeans to suede jackets. Everything he did was fantastic and looks like it was hand-crafted for me. All prices were more than reasonable and I got all sorts of new things to wear. I should have posted a review then but I absolutely had to after my latest. On Tuesday, I tried on a dress I was intending to wear at a wedding that I leave for on Thursday and noticed to my dismay it did not fit how I wanted and was too low-cut. I immediately ran over in a complete panic to see if it was even possible to fix in... one day. It's a silk/satin fabric with a unique cut so I wasn't optimistic. Ali took it in stride and finished it IN ONE NIGHT. He did an incredible job, was super respectful and considerate when trying to figure out what adjustments to make, and I'm so grateful! Really unprofessional behavior…read more 1) took off her mask and breathed all over me, didn't even ask if I was ok with it 2) did not know to to subtly hem my dress 3) told me it was impossible even though the store I bought it from (BHLDN) said that it was 4) acted patronizing when I showed her pictures of other hem jobs ("sweetie, there's no way that this was hemmed") Long: I got a wedding dress from BHLDN. Usually these dresses are made long to accomodate different heights, and BHLDN assured me that it could be shortened subtly for my height. When I took my dress to Haydee she said this was impossible and made me feel stupid for even bringing it up. It's a popular dress, so showed her pictures of the same dress in the same size being modified to fit someone shorter than me. She claimed that it must have never been hemmed and that I was being tricked. Haydee almost convinced me (saying there wasn't enough time before my wedding and that I should book her NOW) but my mom insisted on taking me to get another opinion. We called the BHLDN store and they again told me that it was designed to be hemmed (as all their dresses are). They recommended me someone else, who showed me how there are these flaps that are built into the bottom of the skirt so that when you do the hem job, they can hide the sewing. They said this was really common for wedding dresses. I thought this information could be useful for Haydee in her future work and to let her know I was going with some else (which I know can be awkward but I figured was better than ghosting her), so I texted to let her know these things, but she turned pretty rude - see attached screenshot. As a pretty important aside, she also took off her mask and breathed all over me during my appointment with her. When I prodded her about it, she said it was just too uncomfortable. I needed several items dry cleaned for graduation events, and everything was returned in perfect condition-clean, pressed, and ready to wear.
