The lady used to be more customer friendly. But lately when I've taken my clothes to be altered, she shrugs her shoulders when I ask her a question as to what she thinks of I should take it in more. I would think she's the professional and I've noticed that more recently she will say she doesn't know in a tone that she doesn't even care and told me to tell her what I want and she will do it. Her service has become pretty rude. I am looking for another tailor shop. read more

The lady who works there is friendly and completes the work in reasonable time frame. I like the work they do. I drive farther away to have the lady at Peter's Tailor Shop hem my pants because the place near my house is not as patient as the lady At Peter's Tailor Shop. When I try on the pants, she takes her time to see which length would be best. There are times I may ask to go shorter, then change it to longer and back and forth, yet she is so patient and helps me figure out the best length for me. read more

So, I had a wedding to go to. But, I hadn't bought a suit in ages. So, I bought a suit. But, it didn't fit exactly right. So, I searched Yelp for a tailor in Fremont. But, I needed the alterations done within a few days. So, I found Peter's Tailor Shop. But.... no but! After the quick alterations, the coat was perfect. The pants' waist was perfect. Great quick alteration job on my N&F broken twill raw denim jeans. This place is a quick, no frills, get the job done tailor for quality work. The lady offered to get my pants done in 1 Business day because I said I needed them for a business trip on the weekend. Talk about going above and beyond in service. I think the pants came out to around ~$15, which is also pretty cheap. But her work was definitely worth every penny, will definitely come back if I need any other work done. read more

Amazing work. Last minute, walked in with a sports coat. It had missing buttons. Bought my own buttons. She stopped with what she was doing, and got the job done within a hour. You get what you pay for. Can be pricey but she's the best tailor me and my friends know of. She's tailored my APC's and saved my selvedge and also tapered another pair of my jeans. I've also had multiple friends go to her for saving the selvedge on their APC's and they're all pleased with her work. Great place to go to. read more

I needed the suit jacket sleeve buttons sewed on, my trousers hemmed and the waist suppressed. I've never met Peter, but the shop was apparently sold to a nice Korean woman who was able to tailor my suit. She was very knowledgeable and honest. I didn't detect any reluctance in her trying to assist me in getting the best final product. I was able to pick up my altered suit in less than a week with no complaints. The total came to be $75. I had also brought in an ill-fitting blazer, which at the time I believed could be altered, but she was sincere and steered me away from an irreparable mistake. read more

Peter's Tailoring Shop is a favorite old-standby since the days of Senior Prom (10+ years ago). I remember because I had to have my dress hemmed. He did a great job and I always remembered him when I needed any add'l alterations. Last year or so I needed three pairs of pants hemmed in a jiffy, he was able to have them done the same day, in time for my flight early the next morning. The only con - he's a little pricey, $15 per pair, made my $20 Old Navy set now $35 dollar work pants. You get what you pay for, and he definitely does great work. read more

I came here to get my dresses and jeans tailored. The lady took me in right away. I needed to get my jeans tightened around my knees only bc they were way too big, making my bootcut look like straight leg. She said she couldn't do it and I should wash my jeans every other day so the fabric stays tight. Now these are dark wash jeans and very pricey, I'm not about to do that. So we left that. I wanted to turn a few A-line dresses into Monroe style where they are fitted hips and below. She said I have nice legs and we figured the dress looked fine as is. That was nice and honest of her. I was a bit disappointed about the jeans, but at least she was honest that she couldn't do it without getting rid of the bootcut. read more

This was a fantastic experience! I dropped off my denim a few days prior, with the promise of the work being done by next week. I was delighted to hear that the work was completed earlier than expected. The pants look untouched from the outside, and the alterations do not compromise the quality of the pants as intended from the original manufacturer. In addition, the customer service is unmatched. I walked into the shop uncertain of exact measurements, but the lady working with me made it very straightforward and offered advice. The people running the shop truly do care about their customers. I had turned in a pair of slacks to be altered on the waist and hem. It took 2 weeks but I was in no rush but she said she was swamped with orders. Understandable and it seems she's usually the only one working. She even did a chest measurement for me since the suit I bought was too big and it was pointless to get it altered. Review for slacks. The Korean lady who works here is great. Unfortunately, I have forgotten her name. There was a small language barrier, but that was not an issue for me. I brought a pair of slacks here that were too long for me. She charged $16 to shorten them and also offered to be done by the next day. I've been coming here for years. I live further and tried others, big mistake. Shyna (pronounced like China) she is amazing with her sewing machine. I have never had any item that I had to take back for more alterations. She charges may be a little bit more but in my opinion you get what you pay for . She is a Taylor and that is her only focus she's not doing dry cleaning or other things for clothing which also probably makes her a better choice than others . She is also very friendly and welcome to look at anything you might need sewn. Case in point, she sewed hair ext clips to hair... She didn't have to do this other alterations places nearby turned me down, but she did it, and well! Highly recommend. ps I hope Peter and his wife are well xo. read more

admittedly i haven't had any clothes that needed tailoring for awhile and have only been here a handful of times, but each time i've dealt with the owner has been a pleasant experience and the work was done just how i expected it to be. one of the last few times i was in here was a particularly memorable experience. one of my favorite t-shirts had a tear in it, so i decided to get that fixed along with getting a pair of jeans hemmed, thinking i would be charged accordingly when i dropped them both off - but she actually ended up taking my shirt and sewing it up right there for me before i left the jeans there to be worked on - for free. another time, i brought in a work apron from a restaurant i used to work for that had holes in the pockets - and she sewed that right up too. i wouldn't bet on this being a regular business practice for her, but the fact that she would go that above and beyond for a customer she had only seen a few times before says a lot about the kind of business owner she is. unfortunately, all the clothes i've bought lately have been correctly sized and have not needed alterations... but rest assured, i would recommend taking your tailoring needs here as the prices are also fairly reasonable. the only bone i have to pick is that the extremely tiny lot this business is located in is not only hard to spot and easy to miss, but only accessible from one side of the street, so be wary if you're trying to find it. read more

I will never go anywhere else. I showed up around 3pm and explained my situation. I told the very nice lady that I had just returned from Afghanistan and had Just received the news that my best friend who stayed had just been killed in action. I needed to get my Dress Blues ready in a hurry! I had grown a bit and I had to buy a new suit! The nice lady dropped everything and began to work on my suit. She stayed after hours to get all the patches and ribbons on also. She spent more than 5 hours on my suit, carefully making sure everything was perfect!! She called me as soon as everything was done and perfect to come and pick it up. Suit fit great! She even gave me a hug and said she was sorry and that she supported our troops! On top of it all she just charged me $50!!!!! I can't say enough about this place! This is the first review I have ever wrote and may be the last.
