Wasn't bad during the day. But got home at 1AM from a show that we were outside all night at. Then slept in cold all night and got up and it was absolutely freezing. Pack layers if you can because obviously no one replaced the knob for us... I guess children to have access to the heat. Pretty deal for me when paying so much for TINY cottage. Insane! Otherwise if we could have gotten some heat very please but heat is unfortunately a huge deal.

The bathroom was fully sized with a shower head that had very good pressure. There was a nice kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator, two burner stove and all the kitchen utensils/pots you will need. There were four solid, Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit that included, dry cut wood. Also, a picnic table that at night we played cards on. The location was a five minute drive to all the shops and the beach. It was very convenient to everything in the area. The pool was very clean and refreshing. My 11 year old loved it had a deep end so he cannonball into it. Plenty of chairs to sit out and spread on. I also have to mention Chris and Amy, two of the property keepers that keep the place wonderful looking and make sure you have everything you need. Chris even offered to start a fire for me. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Kevin greeted us with a warm welcome & we met Laurie & his family shortly after while enjoying some wine on the patio & a friendly game of basketball. They were absolutely wonderful to us we had great conversations they treated us like we were a part of the family. They really make you feel welcomed & were very accommodating showing us where to park, giving us pointers on fun family activities. They have everything you need, grocery store out back, firewood at the main house for sale & tons of brochures to help in deciding what our plans were each day! They even let us check out later so we didn't have to feel rushed. Every year we try to visit Lake George at least once or twice & I can honestly say it was the best time & stay that we have ever had. 5 star by far! Our cabin was wonderful cozy with just enough space for the 4 of us or more! Accommodation were perfect, we stayed upstairs in Buckingham Palace the rooms were spotless updated & well kept. We had a full kitchen with a Keurig, K-cups cream & sugar to enjoy each morning. 4 beds (2 in each bedroom) Linens were clean & wonderful. Air conditioning was perfect for our 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage was simply amazing!. You can tell they have put a lot of their time into making this an incredible escape for everyone to enjoy! It's very close to town but also the perfect distance to feel like you're out of the hustle & bustle & can enjoy the wonderful ambience of the Adirondacks! Especially with their attention to detail, one of the first things we noticed was the beautiful well-kept landscape & the incredible crystal clear heated pool it was just awesome!!! We enjoyed relaxing evenings on our porch & patio listening to music, playing basketball & enjoying each other's company! This time we stayed in a room with a kitchenette. It was perfect. We bought groceries and saved a lot of money making meals. The fridge was a bit bigger than a standard room fridge. There was a two element stove top and microwave plus a quaint eating area. The WiFi is good and lots of cable channels available. The shower had great water pressure too. Really my only complaint is how the beds are set up. One side has plenty of room but the other side has no leg room so if you have to set up a device like a cpap you have to be creative. Last time, we stayed here but just a regular room and again no leg room on one side. Other than that it's a nice place to stay.

I am honestly baffled by the low rating for Antigua Resort until I actually read the reviews. Then…read moreI became baffled in an entirely different way. Two of the seven reviews are one star complaints from guests who cancelled at the last minute and were unhappy that the resort retained their non refundable deposit. The paperwork very clearly explains the cancellation policy, including exactly how much of the deposit is refundable depending on when you cancel. Complaining that a business followed a policy you signed acknowledging is a rather impressive form of hypocrisy. Fortunately, the resort itself is considerably easier to understand. We have been visiting Lake George for approximately twenty years, and my wife and her family have been coming since the 1980s. Somehow, despite all those decades of experience, this was our first stay on the eastern side of the lake. That turned out to be a very happy accident. The east side is quieter, less developed, and dramatically less commercial than the village side. It feels peaceful in a way that the busier parts of Lake George simply cannot. Antigua Resort sits on Plum Point, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. We spent a week in Suite #5 and loved it. The resort is not luxurious, and anyone arriving expecting a five star hotel is going to be disappointed. That is like complaining that a canoe does not have a swimming pool. Antigua is a clean, comfortable, well maintained lakeside resort whose greatest amenity is the lake itself. Suite #5 has a wonderful picture window overlooking Lake George, which was the primary reason we selected it. Once we arrived, however, we discovered that virtually every accommodation on the property enjoys a lake view, either through a window or from a private porch. The Lakeside Suite, Suite #5, and the Boathouse have the closest and most dramatic vantage points, but you are going to see Lake George from pretty much everywhere. Our suite had a main bedroom where our boys slept, with one double bed and one twin, plus a smaller secondary bedroom with a queen. There was a small but clean bathroom and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed for the week. There are also both gas and charcoal grills available for guests, which made preparing an occasional meal wonderfully easy. But nobody comes to Antigua for the kitchen. You come for the water. There is a small, well maintained beach with a designated swimming area and floating platform. Guests can also use kayaks, canoes, and rowboats at no additional charge. It is the sort of place where children can disappear onto the water for a while and parents can actually relax because everyone is having a good time. Then there is the observation deck on top of the boathouse. My oldest son decided this was his personal headquarters for the week and spent literal hours up there. From that vantage point, on a clear day, you can see all the way from Dome Island down toward Lake George Village. Steamboats regularly pass by, along with an endless parade of private boats. It is an extraordinary place to simply sit and watch the lake. It also turned out to be one of the best places to watch the weekly fireworks from the Village. Every Thursday evening during the summer, Lake George Village puts on a fireworks show, and the view from the boathouse observation deck was fantastic. There is also live music on the beach with a campfire every Monday and Thursday. Add the sound of the lake, the mountains, a fire on the beach, and a guitar playing somewhere nearby, and you have arrived at a very different definition of entertainment than you get at a resort surrounded by commercial attractions. Anne, the owner, was another highlight. She was regularly out and about on the property, often accompanied by her two exceptionally friendly dogs, Ranger and Lucy. She clearly takes an interest in the guests and the property, checking in to make sure things are running properly without hovering over everyone. That is really what Antigua gets right. It feels personal. There is no giant lobby, no endless hallway, no anonymous hotel operation. You know where you are. You know who is taking care of the place. You can walk down to the beach, grab a kayak, sit around a campfire, watch the boats, or spend an hour doing absolutely nothing. And doing absolutely nothing on Lake George is vastly underrated. After twenty years of visiting this lake, we discovered that we had been missing an entirely different side of it. The east side's peace and quiet turned out to be exactly what our family needed. We all loved the slower pace and lack of commercial bustle. Antigua is not fancy. It does not pretend to be fancy. What it offers instead is clean and comfortable accommodation, friendly ownership, free boats and kayaks, a beautiful beach, spectacular lake views, family friendly activities, and one of the most peaceful settings we have experienced anywhere on Lake George. We will return.

Spent a week here this August 2018…read more The spot is PERFECT. Just outside of touristy Lake George Village on the non-commercial east side of the lake. Lovely, well-kept grounds with lawns and gazebos for reading and thinking, and a sandy swim beach and playground for children. Tall pines smell divine. Great views of the lake from all the rooms/suites. And the owners keep it just right for adults and children. Our 2 bedroom suite was perfect and featured Pickwick paneling which reminded me of our family's cabin in Maine. Cozy yet airy!! Highly recommend!

No creature comforts (microwave, coffee pot, hairdryer etc) tight parking. It was perfect for what we wanted- a bed, roof and no mosquitoes! Very close to town center. Lots of activities nearby. The owner lives on site and is available and present if needed. There is a pool and a volleyball area that we did not take advantage of. We enjoyed the porch and the picnic areas.

Melba Mae's, Melba Mae's , you've changed my life in crazy ways…read more Ok maybe I wouldn't go that far...BUT while camping for a couple of nights in upstate New York, a friend who was with us and originally from the area said that we had to check out this joint. Basically the only bar in town, Melba's attracts all the locals, making it an amazing location for people watching. Walking in the first two things that I noticed were 1) I I was perfectly dressed in my jean shorts and UMass sweatshirt, falling somewhere in the middle of the sprectrum, between men in t-shirts with no sleeves and 50-70 year old women in beedazled tanks 2) loud and awesome country music was pouring out from the back of the bar. Plopping ourselves down on high top chairs in front of the stage, we sat and watched as a massive man (we're talking Paul Bunnion) in full country gear belted out request after request. On the dance floor we got to see line dancing, slow dancing, and older people dancing inappropriately to slow songs.....it was quite the experience. The only reason Melba's loses a star is because of the women's bath room: 2 toilets, no stalls, no lock. But, drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is unique, so if you have a good girl friend to stand outside the restroom door, arms crossed, body guard style, definitely head up to Melba Mae's.

I truly love that you have the option of playing some shuffleboard or corn hole as you dry off from all the cannon balls you did in the pool. The fire pit is my personal favorite, and love this as a perfect night cap to sit and listen to the songs of nature or music from your phone! If you check in on Yelp, don't forget to claim your s'mores kit! I'm a sucker for s'mores! The room we had, Room #118, was a really quiet room. The housekeeping did a great job preparing the room for our arrival, and cleaned it to perfection on days we wanted the room made up. Our room was equipped with two queen size beds, so there was no cover hogging on this trip. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but comes complete with everything you would need for a getaway. The heated lamps in the bathroom are a nice touch, especially on cooler nights. Our shower had a continuous leak that we couldn't adjust, so we had to let the water drip; we couldn't hear anything over the AC, so that was fine with us. The continental breakfast is on the sweeter, more sugary side, and we honestly decided to explore other options for breakfast to better start our day. If we were going to be bad eating this vacation, we wanted to make the calories count - like, ice cream every night for example. The staff and overall spotlessness of the Heritage is what really made us come again for the third time in a row; we will see you again soon!

Every room had a different theme. All rooms were very clean and furnished according to the theme. There was a good sized kitchen and enough cutlery and dishes to serve everyone. The dining room was large enough for at least 12 people with additional seating in the dining room and the kitchen. The living room was large and comfortable for everyone to visit. There's also a baby grand piano off of the dining room near the staircase. There is a covered porch which surrounds the inn on three sides with enough seating for all the guests. All of my family members were appreciative of the inn and the fact that they got to visit with each other for the entire weekend. I can't say enough good things about the Glens Falls Inn.
