I spent Columbus Day weekend gazing out over the lake from a balcony that made me feel briefly like an aristocrat who had misplaced his crown. The room had two king beds, a small miracle for a man accustomed to one, and the soundproofing was a triumph of human engineering. Even with Oktoberfest raging below, once the balcony door was closed the silence was so complete that I could almost hear my own thoughts apologizing for existing. The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars. We stayed here for a conference in October. The hotel itself is very nice, there is a parking garage in the back which is convenient. The staff was friendly as well. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds, it was very spacious and clean. There was only two draws to put our clothes so we each only got one. The shower was big, but the water pressure wasn't great. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend staying here. Also there is a roof top which is very nice and has a view of the lack and mountais. Stayed here during off season for 1 night. The hotel is well situated on Lake George. . They have 4 working charging stations which was a plus. The parking lot is also covered which is nice. The check in was seamless and the rooms were clean. We had a very nice view of the Lake. The hotel restaurant was just okay. Maybe the weak spot of the hotel. For the largest 4th of July celebration, the 250th, we booked early. At the time we secured our stay, all hotels were open along with a resort we have visited. We made an error choosing and trusting Marriott Courtyard for such an important holiday stay! We booked 5 adults. We booked for $1450 as booking required 3 nights when we only needed one! Our reservation is still for 5 adults. I was looking at photos and clicked details- I did not see the sofa bed, read further and the balcony room we had did not accommodate 5, so I called Marriott. We thought we were secure and when I asked the hotel to fix this, they didn't care, and tried to put us in a crappy room without a balcony! All they have said is pretty much ... your fault ... move you to a crappy room! The manager tried to place blame on me...corporate did not agree with the manager, but also didn't make this right! I booked the correct number of adults and it is still on the reservation! (5). The stay in the balcony room is confirmed for 5! Today is the last day to cancel and this has exploited my time with a BBB complaint, calls, emails, and so much stress for each of us. This hotel booking issue is still unresolved. Our stay has been destroyed by these people for no reason other than greed, unprofessional disregard, and a refusal to make this right. We are forced to stay home! We have stayed here for years since they opened. Showed at noon today asked them to call when our room was available. No call , go there before 4pm to find out they couldn't be bothered to call when room was ready and then stuck us with a handicap accessible room because that was all that is left. After being loyal customers to this place we will no longer come here . You do t matter here stay away. read more

We recently spent three nights at the Courtyard and liked and appreciated most of what we encountered here. For starters, it's very conveniently located: right in the midst of the main drag of Lake George, easy walking distance to almost all of the restaurants, shops and what-have-yous that line this busy street. And directly across the hotel front is the lake itself (you can get high-up rooms at the hotel facing the lake, but they are on the pricey side). Parking is at the rear and is double-decked, so covered slots are available. The parking is really handy since on-street parking along Canada Street can be difficult to manage, especially on summer weekends. The lobby area is spacious and can easily accommodate crowds for meetings, weddings, etc. We found the front desk staff to be helpful and accommodating for our early arrival and check-in. And we were dazzled by the wonderful restaurant, Charlie's, where we had breakfasts and one dinner. We used and liked the fitness room, lots of weights, and while we took a swim we found the pool too cool to stay in. And wish the hotel had a hot tub. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a basic room, but it had a small partition separating the bed from a sitting area; both areas had their own TVs. The bed was just about right for us, not too firm, and soft pillows. The bathroom likewise was clean and the shower had a strong spray of hot water. Overall, a good, satisfying visit. Our room was $209 per night, and while we know rates can jump all over the place, for a busy resort like Lake George we thought it was fair. Recommended. read more

Here are some of the highlights for me: - Early check in are provided if room is ready - Rooms are very well prepared with slick furniture and electronics - Hotel has free parking, saves the hassle of finding parking on busy Canada st. They give you a parking pass even if u have not checked in yet. - In house restaurant available that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner - Some of the rooms have lake view with balcony - Beautiful rooftop to take a sun bath or have your byob party Prices are high, compared to some of the other hotels in the area, but it's understandable because of the quality and service Marriot provides. Have been a fan of Marriot over the years and they continue to impress me. But I did find some quarks that made my stay little uncomfortable. 1. The water pressure is so low for the shower. Don't remember when Iast stayed in a hotel that had such low pressure shower. 2. The room didn't have microwave, we had to use the one Market room. Despite being a common microwave for the whole hotel, none of the staff cleaned it thorough out the day. The hotel should at least offer microwaves to rooms on request, or provide one at each floor's common area. Else, it's difficult families visiting with infants or toddlers. 3. The fire detectors are awkwardly placed, facing the bed. At night, once I tuned off the room's light and until I closed my eyes, the fire detector's green light kept blinking at me. My husband and I stayed in a room that was fine. It was clean and a good size. With that said, our son and his family were in a room that was terrible. It was right by the elevator and ice machine. The noise from both was non stop and kept the family up all night. No one wants to pay a lot of money for a hotel room and have their small children woken over and over by these noises. We asked numerous times for a quiet room but were met with indifference by every staff member at the desk, including the manager. Has a pool & fitness center as well as a 24 hour mini mart & onsite restaurant and rooftop patio. We stayed in a king suite with a sofa bed (cheapest room available on that date). Was definitely impressed! Spacious bathroom, large shower/tub combo with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Sitting room with tv, desk, pull out couch, microwave and mini fridge & bedroom with a king size bed & tv with ability to log into Netflix. Cons: Customer service could be better, insufficient elevators that had long wait times on several occasions, ill equipped gym (only had one functional treadmill last week), coffee shop charges big city prices. I stayed here with my parents on a quick family trip upstate. We got a 2BR suite & we loved the room itself but the overall stay was underwhelming. The gym could use some more equipment, the coffee shop could drop their prices a bit, the customer service could be more accommodating but guessing they can't add elevators! We were very impressed with this hotel, it's definitely been redone or built fairly recently. We just got a basic room but it was set up like a junior suite almost with a slight partition separating a living room type area from the bedroom and two separate tvs. The hotel is also in a very convenient location and offers free covered parking. They also were very generous with early checkin is we got there at 12 and they let us check into our room. We just asked expecting a no and were shocked when they handed over the keys. Granted the town was totally dead when we were there so probably tons of rooms free but still a good experience! Only downside was no breakfast included but they do have an on-site restaurant which was actually pretty good for the prices. read more

So took a 5 day trip to Lake George and stayed at the Marriott in Lake George. Over all the stay was good and rooms are clean. Was a bummer this hotel did not have continental breakfast and lobby was always freezing cold making it difficult to sit in the lobby to have morning coffee or play games with my wife and son. Now I am not sure if this is common practice but housekeeping doesn't put the garbage bag in the waste basket and so if I have to throw something out I have to put the bag in. Now I know this isn't a major inconvenience to me but for some it's like doing their job. But overall the staff was extremely cordial and professional so yes I'd recommend Marriott in Lake George to anyone . read more

No shuttle into town. Only airport. Type of place you just want to sleep in to catch an early flight. It was clean. No special amenities. Lobby was very noisy. Stayed at this Motel 3 times prior, and on our 4th time, (which was a special event for us), we were met with an unexpected level of unfriendliness, and an unwillingness to make the room right. We were told that the type of room we requested was not available and would have to re-book to get the one we wanted. We lost a days charge doing this, but did it anyway. We were also charged incidental fees for both bookings including the original canceled booking. We were assured these charges would all be removed as we didn't incur any charges. Upon checkout, i asked again that this be taken care of and was met with a level of unfriendliness and lack of concern. My bill said $0 balance. Three weeks later those double charges showed up on my cc statement. I called the Front Desk and spoke with that same person who told me very unprofessionally that there was nothing he could do. Don't let the pseudo friendly persona fool you...If there is any trouble, these people aren't your friends. There are many other choices at Lake George and we wont go there again. read more

I was highly impressed with this location. I called multiple times before my stay to ask questions and both staff members were very helpful. I was impressed with the size of the rooms. It was crazy! I don't think I've even been in such a big "regular" room for this price, especially in a small little resort town. Staff was friendly. Place was clean and comfy. The rooftop seating area was great. 180 degrees of views! The indoor pool could've been warmer and a hot tub is definitely needed. Only complaints here! read more

Great hotel centrally located in downtown Lake George with nice views of Lake George if you book a balcony room facing the lake. Rooms are really big with two King sized beds, which is the first time I've come across this. Our lake-front balcony had a high-top table with two chairs plus a comfy Adirondack chair and a side table next to it. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with my coffee and iPad. The closet is a bit on the small side as is the fridge, but at least there is one. There was no in-room safe. Plenty of outlets could be found around the room along with USB-A ports. Bathroom was also on the large side and plenty of shelf space in the bathtub/shower area to put your shampoos, soaps, etc. My wife and I found the beds to be on the firmer side and a little too firm for us. Unfortunately, there was no housekeeping service offered during our stay due to COVID, so that was a bit frustrating as we were here for a week, so we had trash cans overflowing and had to call down for toilet paper several times during our stay. It would have been nice if they gave us the option to have housekeeping service or not, especially with so many things opening back up at this point. As for the other amenities of the hotel, we enjoyed the roof top area, which has a number of tables with umbrellas as well as couches. We often enjoyed sitting up there having breakfast or just hanging out. The downside is only one of the two elevators goes to the roof top, and they were a bit slow. Would have been nice if there were stairs we could have taken, especially since we were one floor below the roof top. The hotel has a restaurant, coffee bar, fitness center, marketplace, and a pool. There's also a lounge area with some TV's and big games like Connect Four. The kids enjoyed hanging out in that area in the evening relaxing and playing games. They also used the pool, which was just OK. Towels are provided in the pool area. There seemed to not be enough handicap spaces to park in as several times we were not able to obtain a space. Overall, we really enjoyed out stay here. It was a great hotel in a great location and within walking distance of so many attractions, shopping, and dining. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Lake George! read more

We found ourselves during Turkey weekend with the extra time but not much to do & because of COVID our options were pretty limited, ended up coming to Lake George even with the off season we figured it would be a decent change in scenery from NYC. we booked the Lakeview room, our room was on the 3rd floor, very nice room, 2 big beds, nice balcony towels & toiletries all wrapped up because of covid no room service, you had to ask if you wanted anything understandable, it wasn't a big deal for us. Decent hotel, we made use of what was available to us we dinned at Charlie's twice, decent menu options, one day sat at the bar for a bite to eat & drinks, we had some wings pretty good, drinks adult hot chocolate very good & a chocolate martini not bad as well. Nice sitting area, where we watched tv, relaxed & had some drinks. The indoor pool was a nice distraction considering it was very cold outside nice to just enjoy. They have a rooftop area that was already closed for the season, a Beer garden but it was just too cold to be outside nice fire pit area to at least look at for a few. The staff was nice , attentive .. since it was the holidays the lobby was decorated nicely, we had an enjoyable few days & would not mind staying here again should we make another trip to the area. read more

I had a reservation confirmation and they didnt even call or text to tell me about the cancellation. They wont rebook as they gave my room up already for more $$$. If you want a room, dont book here. The day before, we went to the place access the street called Bank Cafe and had a horrible experience so I was VERY happy that we found this cafe instead. We went to the front desk for wifi access and it worked great (better than the wifi we have at the motel we're staying at down the street). We had a girl as two day getaway weekend to shop and decompress. The rates weren't bad and the location right on Canada street was ideal. Upon arrival we were told we had our room upgraded. We had a fifth floor balcony room overlooking Lake George. What a beautiful spot! Even though it was cold, we threw our blanket on and sat watching the lake. So peaceful! The Livy was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff was helpful and thoughtful. Did I mention the room was huge with 2 king sized beds?! Glorious! Booked an impromptu trip to lake George knowing that it is off season. Covid precautions: I love all the covid precautions put into place. The front desk has 6 feet markers for customers waiting in line for the receptionist, linens with toiletries are bagged in the bathroom of each hotel room, and there is a packet of moist towelettes left on the side table with a message about the hotels covid precautions. Also, the attached restaurant will bring the food to your room if you don't feel comfortable going down to eat in the restaurant. The room: I booked a lake view room with a balcony. The view of the lake is pretty and the room itself is very cozy. The pillows and mattress are extremely comfortable too! I love that there's a pull out desk to work / eat. The cabinetry is spacious, there's a mini fridge in a cabinet, and there's complimentary coffee on the desk. The lighting is a little dim but is fine because it adds to the cozy atmosphere. Also- I love that there's a separate recycling bin from the garbage can. The only con I have to add regarding the room is that the tub seems a little outdated. The location: the location is great and in walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and Shepard park. The area requires paid street parking but the hotel has complimentary lot/garage parking so you can just leave your car there and walk along the main road. Off season: many stores aren't open but there's a couple of good restaurants open (most of the dinner restaurants are open Wednesday-Sunday). The Adirondack winery is a must - visit ! Hiking and shopping at the outlets would be your best bet on off season. Would definitely stay here again the next time I come back! read more

For starters, as we approached the entrance, I got a huge whiff of something like stinky wet carpet. Got up to the room and was not pleased at all. Carpet smells terrible. Hair on the floor in the bathroom, one washcloth thrown into the cubby in the shower, no hand soap by the sink. The mini fridge wasn't plugged in, the beds were hard, no paper or pen in the room. No special treatment here for sure. We only stayed there because of location only and will not return. read more

While I'm not normally one to write a bad review for a business, I can't ignore what happened with my stay this past weekend at the Courtyard Lake George. To make a long story short, I booked a reservation using the Marriott app as I always do. Evidently the credit card I had on file had expired, but the reservation processed and confirmed anyway, with no indication that there was an issue. Fast forward to the day before I was due to check in, and the hotel sent an email stating that the card was invalid and asked that I call in a new card. As soon as I saw the email (the following day) I called to provide a new card. I was then told that my reservation had been cancelled and that the hotel had already resold my room and would not honor my reservation. They did say we could check in, but would only be able to stay one night (rather than two). Given that we were already on the way, we had no choice but to continue on and hope we could reason with the hotel in person. Sadly, this was misguided hope. After speaking with the front desk and then a shift manager (the GM declined to come out of her office), pleading with them and explaining the situation, they would not budge in their denial to honor our reservation and accommodate us. We were instructed to leave the property and given no additional assistance or accommodation. It seems unfathomable to me that a hotel would simply send a last-minute email, barely wait any time for a response, make no effort to reach out by phone and summarily cancel a reservation. I've been loyal to Marriott since the Starwood merger, and loyal to SPG for a decade before that. My loyalty status hasn't dropped below gold, and up until the pandemic was platinum. This apparently was of little consequence and had no bearing on stopping this hotel from kicking us out on the street. Moreover, the hotel provided us with exactly ZERO compensation for the tremendous disrespect and inconvenience - they would not even cover the difference in the room rate for the last-minute reservation we were forced to make at a hotel down the street. I've been traveling on business for nearly 20 years and I've never experienced such utter callousness and discourtesy from a hotel - certainly not from a brand with a reputation like Marriott's - certainly not towards a loyal traveler - and certainly not to a family traveling with a child. So, was I dissatisfied with my stay? I'd say shocked beyond words would be a better description. read more

Currently staying in Room 414. For what you pay to stay here it's no better than a 2 star motel. Room is dirty-, tub is so filthy that we have to use a towel on the floor to sit our 17 month old to give her a bath. Dirty grease print on door leading to balcony since we checked in. They haven't vacuumed and left our dirty glasses in the room after "cleaning out". Paid over $350 a night Labor day weekend and we get sub par service. Was supposed to get an upgrade but they said they had nothing available and was supposed to get a welcome gift at check-in and got nothing. Roof top deck had nothing to offer. Disappointed in our selection here, first time staying at this hotel and we expect more from the Marriott name and the service we have come to expect from the Marriott brand. read more

Spacious rooms, great window views, all the staff were very personable, and asked after me whilst I was running around to and from the numerous winter carnival events right across the street. Hung out at Charlie's restaurant in the lobby quite often, speaking with the exec chef, and mainstay waitress Gabby, both of whom made the stay even more memorable. I was hoping to visit the rooftop, but I suppose that's a no-go for now, off- season... Plan on returning regularly, not only for the rooms, but definitely to revisit the staff. I'm just upset this place opened at the end of my year of travel to this area. Preciously I stayed at the Courtyard in Saratoga Springs which is excellent. Our company kinda made us stay in the Lake George area but it's no hardship. The hotel is only a couple of months old so of course everything is spotless, new, and shiny. Courtyards all have The Bistro which is EXCELLENT on those days you just don't feel like heading out. They have oatmeal and smoothies for breakfast as well as excellent flatbreads and salads. There is what seems like endless places to sit and unwind comfortably. If you get lucky (or spend a few extra dollars) you can get a room facing the beautiful Lake George WITH a balcony! The service here is impeccable. You are always greeted as you enter and the ladies who staff the bar and bistro go out of their way. Today I missed a reception for my company but as I entered they still offered me my drink and asked me about my day. Very nice room. Always clean. The balcony is nice to hang out on. Nice view of the lake and the street to "people" watch. Worked out at the gym which is nice. Also very clean. The pool looks better in the photos than it does in real life. I'm not keen on green looking pools. My daughter and I swam in it and it was fine. I liked that it was not deep. The towels were folded nicely. The bathrooms were also very nice but it didn't have 2 things: a fan to get the steam out of the room and a magnifying mirror so I could do my makeup. The mirror wasn't as important as the fan. We have 3 kids and when everyone takes a shower you can see the mirror to brush teeth or do anything else. I also did laundry. They could update their machines to credit card machines. I don't mind getting quarters. Also, there was one machine each. With so many guests you would think One washer and one dryer wouldn't be enough? I thought it was odd but I was lucky I only had to wait for a washer for 20 minutes. Comfortable rooms very similar to most Courtyards, with tons of device outlets. The lobby design is different and enjoyable. There's a restaurant, a bar, a coffee snack counter, a mini store, sitting areas by a fireplace, a computer center, the exercise room, an indoor pool and a rooftop sitting area. The rooftop had a great view of the lake, but could use a bar as well. Some Covid restrictions in place, but we were there when NY state had already removed most restrictions. Within the Lake George Village this hotel is the newest in the area. The staff here is lovely - very polite and attentive but beyond that this is a true 3 star hotel. We found the food at the on-site restaurant to be mediocre - shrimp cocktail featured previously frozen shrimp and the charcuterie board was a lot like what one would expect of a Hickory Farms basket. We only stayed one night and while our "suite" was large there was only 1 a/c vent in the sitting area so the bedroom area was quite warm all night in spite of dialing the a/c to its lowest temp. Our room also smelled like a foot so my main rec to management would be to clean the carpets. read more

Oh where does one begin.... The room was nice. It had a balcony overlooking the lake, providing a wonderful view. This is where the good ends. 1. We found cough drop wrappers on the blanket. We also found sales slips on the sheets. It was obvious the room was not clean correctly prior to our arrival. 2. We went to the Hotel bar the first night...made sure we tipped the bartender well...so well that he made a comment to me "you need anything at all, you see me". Well we came back the following night. Sat at the bar 5 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted a drink. It's not that they were busy...but the two bartenders (including the one from the prior night) were busy sitting at tables with another guest, hanging out. Once we finished the drinks...it took 10 minutes for one of them to see if we wanted another drink...no thanks..bill please. We gave it two stars instead of one...the saving grace was the restaurant in the hotel. Class A service. They should have the restaurant staff train the rest of their employees. read more

I understand that during the Covid we have to basically keep up with our room ourselves which is no problem I get it. We have to leave the garbage and the towels outside our hotel door so they can pick it up, the problem was we left the towels out but we still had to ask for fresh towels, we would run down to the lobby and ask because no one was answering the phone, maybe they were under staffed. The major problem for us was the room was not clean. The rug was so dirty that our socks turned black from walking to one side of the room to the other. Please shampoo the rugs they smelled. The bathroom was never really cleaned before our stay. I brought Lysol and sprayed the whole room and bathroom and cleaned everything. I didn't want to make a big deal because we were with a huge group for a birthday, we had 24 people in our group and I didn't want to make an issue. I can't say I'll stay there again. A clean room and floor really matters more than anything else. read more

Katie is incredible at the bar. Recommended the beast drinks and food. My father and I got the French onion soup and Caesar salad. Very engaging and personable. My dad pushed to go back to get drinks the next day. Can't recommend it enough read more
