Unless you want to be completely insulted, do not try to deal with this dealership. Salesman was condescending and arrogant, vehicle was low in oil and tire had a huge gouge in it. Salesman tried to tell my mechanic husband that the low oil was normal for newer vehicles. Gouge in tire had armour all in it. Buyer beware. read more

Unfortunately none of your dealerships were even considered during the last 6 weeks of research. Some "manager" in your auto group decided not to honor your own warranty on repairs on my sons car. Thus a car he purchased at your Mukwonago dealership needed the same 3,000 dollar repair twice. Our family has purchased 2 vehicles from the Mukwonago dealership, but we will NEVER use any Amato dealership again. And I purchase a car about every 3 years, and while the next car I buy will not run into the 40,000 dollar range it will be in the 30,000 range. So not standing by your repair work you've lost on on 75,000 dollars of sales in the next three years. I will preface this with the sales person Chris I have worked with is nothing but excellent. I traded in my 2020 Silverado for a 2018 Colorado some months back. After purchasing the vehicle and beginning to play with some of the lesser used features discovered a front camera was not functioning. Was originally told a new camera kit would be ordered in order to take care of me given I've bought two other vehicles from the other Lynch dealerships in Mukwonago. Initially a replacement was ordered but only the camera for the kit arrived and it arrived damaged. Used car manager told me he would talk to parts and get the full kit ordered and it corrected. I was last told the part would be ordered but have not heard anything since and that was several months ago. Chevy and Chrysler dealerships seem to be great but the Ford dealership seems to be lacking in communication. read more

took car 2016 edge in for service (recall and works oil change) Was told PTU is leaking but needs further diagnosis. After oil change the oil life monitor was not reset and they did not reset the TPMS system to reflect rotated tires. Put air in front tire that said it was low and monitor shows the rear tire now over pressure. Now its another trip back for them to reset. Common guys do your job read more

Horrible service dept. I know from multiple experiences. Will NEVER go here again. 1) They tried to charge me $1800 for something that was clearly covered under warranty. Spoke to warranty company and they said dealership is definitely wrong and trying to pull a fast one on me. They called Amato and straightened them out. Still never admitted that they were wrong. 2) Then waited 1.5 hrs for an oil change with an appt, truck was done after 30 min, but no one told me it was done and I sat and waited for another hour+ until I walked around and saw my truck outside, finished. When I approached the desk, they all acted like I was interrupting them. "What truck are you talking about?" 3) Then 2 months later I came in with a newer truck, under warranty, and was refused warranty coverage because of an aftermarket lift kit having been installed (professionally by a licensed dealer). When the lift kit had ZERO to do with the warranty issue. Every other dealership I spoke to said they would gladly cover it. Federal law states it is illegal for a dealer to refuse warranty coverage unless they can prove you did or something you had done to the vehicle voids it. No such proof was given or offered. I was told that it looked like a poor installation job.....not even close. If you to be treated like garbage, lied to, and ripped off, please come on down. read more

Terrible service. Took my F150, that I purchased from Amato, in for it's second oil change. Was told I was going to have to pay for a new oil pan plug. The current plug was stripped. It looked like they used an impact to reinstall the plug. Told the service person that I have only brought my truck here for oil changes because I have their service plan and Forever warranty. After staring at me for about ten seconds the light went on. He said he would be right back. A few minutes later he came back and informed me that I would not have to pay for the oil pan plug. Thank you. A few months later I heard a grinding noise coming from the engine compartment. Stopped by Amato to see if someone could take a listen to make sure it wasn't somthing serious. Understanding that it wouldn't get fixed right then and there. I was told they were to busy. Really! To busy just to check it out. Yes to busy. But if I left my F150 there, they could get to in two more days. It is my only vehicle. Not happening. Made an appointment to have it looked at. Gave the reason for bringing it for the engine compartment noise. Dropped it off the evening before. Get a voicemail early afternoon that they fixed my heat shield for my exhaust but could here a noise from my engine compartment. They wanted me to call back an advise them on what I want them to do. Two days later I got my truck back with a new water pump. I think Amato can shove their Forever warranty where the light don't shine. I still have several oil changes with my service plan. After those are gone Amato won't ever see me again. read more

We are previously loyal customers- having purchased 2 brand new cars from them in the past. In March we needed a transition car for me that eventually would be driven by our 16 year old son. We bought a 2014 Buick Encore from them- lifetime warranty. The car had brand new Uniroyal tires put on right before we bought it. In August our son began driving the car for school and work in Waterford. Less than 7000 miles have been put on this car since we bought it- especially since August. 2 weeks ago, one of the tires blew out as our son was almost to work on Saturday. On Monday when we called the service department, we were told to take it up with Uniroyal. Of course they won't help-- we needed the receipt for the tires. Now 2 weeks later, our son came home from pep band practice, and a 2nd tire is bulging and about to blow out. We already know how we will be treated by Amato. We won't even waste our time. But because of the poor service we received in regards to this issue, we can't recommend them. We are son buying cars through them and will urge everyone else to avoid buying used cars from them. UPDATE-- Phath from Amato called me and my husband on separate phone calls to apologize for the situation. They have offered to reimburse us for the 2 replacement tires. We do appreciate very much their willingness to make the situation right. We want a safe car for our son, and I now feel that Amato is on the same page with us. Thank you!! read more

I am very disappointed in the service department at Amato Ford in Mukwonago. We made an 8:00 a.m. appt. for my daughter's vehicle to be looked at (mind you, this is bringing it back in for the same problem that they supposedly fixed about a month earlier)... after waiting all day I finally called about 4:00 p.m. and the guy says that our car has been rescheduled to the next day! How can you just reschedule someone's car appt to another day without calling them first... I got so mad I hung up on him... He didn't even see a problem with not calling me to let me know anything about the car that they had for almost 8 hours!! We will NOT be going back to this dealership and it's too bad because it's the closest one to our house. read more

After an nine day wait for an appointment my son took his truck in for recall work. Despite being a quick fix they delayed it day after day "because they were busy". Finally on the fifth day after going crazy the fixed it. After the fact found damage at the repair area. Rather than deal with them we just fixed it ourselves. The free recall for gas tank straps, ($30 and 45 minutes) took them 14 days and cost me $200 in additional repairs. read more

Went in to have my tailgate checked for a malfunction. Pete called me a liar and that what I am describing cannot happen. I handed him documentation that it does and I quote " I don't care" was his response. Then it came off in the parking lot and did what he said was "impossible". Then with his tail between his legs came out then sent a false report to ford. If you must go there avoid anything dealing with your warranty as they are completely uneducated or ignorant as to what they are providing. This dealership decided to follow up. They sent me a message basically to remove this review as the warranty was not approved. I immediately informed them after my experience with them the warranty was quickly approved by Miller ford in Burlington. Unlike John Ammato They listened, did not call me a liar and never said they didn't care as Pete told me. They also knew the product and were educated on the function so they could provide an accurate caring claim. miller ford repaired my truck and it looks spectacular all under warranty. read more

We bought 2 cars from them and the service manager pissed my wife and myself off to the point we were promised a rental car for repairs necessary under the lifetime warranty at the 76th street store in Milwaukee because we wouldn't dare go 2 miles from our house to get air for the tires (they would probably screw that up)! When ready to buy Ford Edge and salesman says there is ZERO discount and then argues with you trying to convince you that this is the BEST deal ever and ZERO dollars will be taken off the price tag, you lose all the desire to bring your business to this place... No thanks! I never ever in my life walked out from a dealership paying a tag price. NEVER! I was ready to buy. Your nasty attitude, arguing with me over price, making me walk out sad and angry - I hope you are happy with your sales job! Even offering me $10 gift card to Starbucks would make me feel better and I would buy that car. Good thing you mentioned your competitor down the road, who had the same car, and had great attitude, and worked with me on the price and was very happy you "referred" me to them. Me and husband purchased a 2016 Ford Explorer from this dealership, knowing the history of recalls for this model. But this dealership had replaced and fixed the lasted recall themselves.The very next day I was driving 70 mph down the highway and the rear toe link snapped (this was a band new part, that they put on!) and sent us jackknifing violently back and forth. This over correcting motion, that the vehicle was doing, not me, could have easily sent us rolling and kill me and my kids! Thankfully I was able to gain control and stop the vehicle. We had to have the car towed back to the dealership, which cost us $185. The next morning, we called right at 7 a.m. when they're suppose to be open, but no one answers, so we left a message for the, Steve, the manager. Never got a call back, went in to speak to the manager personally, as soon as we were told that he would be in that morning. We explained what had happened and Steve didn't seem concerned at all by it. He didn't even seem concerned that maybe his service department may have done something wrong, NOTHING. The words, I'm sorry, didn't even leave his mouth initially. At first he mentioned a $500 restocking fee and that they "couldn't" cover the tow fee! Then he says that he can take the $185 tow fee, out of the $500 restocking fee! Are you freaking kidding me! Where is the integrity, the empathy, the honesty in that? We of course weren't having it, and only after we adamantly refused to pay a restocking fee, did he finally relent and do the right thing. He canceled our whole purchase, did not charge us a restocking and cut us a check for the tow fee. That is the only reason why I'm "ok" with giving one star. I've worked in customer service for over 20 years and the way you should treat people, means everything! He tried to still charge us fees, even though me and my kids lives could have ended the day before. That is a very despicable way to run your business! read more

Bought a used truck and I made it less than 140 miles and 3 hours and had to be towed. Was told to basically screw off when I called got the as is speech. Not what I call good service for the almost $15,000 I spent. This was after I got there and the truck PASSED their safety inspection with a tire that was split almost all the way around. The sales staff is great but the service department is horrible I purchased my 2015 ford taurus and when I picked it up they informed me they didn't have time to do the xylon that I had paid for and I would have to bring it back mind you I live an hr away. So when I brought it back to do the xylon they also changed the front brakes because it was pulsating during the test drive. After I pick up the car I notice the driver front wheel has a huge guage in it. When I call to tell them about it they tell me to bring it back so Pete can look at it after I get there he is too busy so Jeff takes pictures. After waiting a week for someone to call me about my rim I started calling them every day each time I was told they would call me back. Finally after almost 2 weeks Pete the service manager called and told me the gouge was already there and he was not going to fix it or replace it. That's unacceptable the only scratch on that car was on the rear bumper. The first thing I noticed about the car was the nice wheels had not been curb checked yet. Needless to say I will not be going back to John amato ford for service or to purchase another vehicle nor will I be referring anyone of the 400 drivers that are with our company. read more

My fiancee bought a 2017 Ford from Paul and was told the second transponder key was at another dealership and he would get it to her in a few days. Nope. No reply to calls or email from her as well. Then after a week I called for her and James answered (associate of Paul) and said by now she should know she is not getting a key. I said that was low lying and I would call Ford. He thought it was funny and said without a receipt Ford will do nothing. Amato was once reputable and a verbal promise was good there but there seems to be changes there and they cant be trusted anymore. My advice don't ever take a dealers word in general for something when signing. Get it in writing! Especially at Amato! I bought her the key after this somewhere else. No money to Ford. I felt bad for her. Here is the way it should have gone..I am sorry we don't have a second key..Ta Da!! Paul is not very bright because lies to customers travel to other potential customers not to mention a loss of future business. The best description I can think of for Paul is..he is a jack ass that thinks he is a racehorse.. as the Irish would say. read more

Visited the service department today and was blown away. The staff is very unorganized and unprofessional. I had made an appointment for and oil change and tire rotation. Upon arrival I was told my tire rotation "could not be completed in a timely manner". I make appointments for a reason due to my busy schedule. When making my appointment I gave my phone number. How hard is it to call a customer ahead of time and give them a heads up. Then to make matters worse the gentleman at the desk preceded to pick up the phone to make a phone call while we were in middle of a conversation. While this was happening I was asked if I wanted to spend $500 on a service package to help save me money off future oil changes/tire rotations. Um are you serious? I will not be wasting my time or money at an establishment like this. Thank you wasting my time today. I am so happy that I did not choose to purchase our new Explorer from Amato as I will not think twice about not scheduling another appointment at their horrible service department. read more

Dealership is okay, no complaints there.... Unfortunately their automotive service department leaves little to be desired. My wife went in for a tire rotation and oil change. A day and a half later she complained of a funny noise coming from the front end of our 2006 Jeep Commander. I pulled it in the garage, and jacked the front end and found that on the drivers side I was able to spin 4 of the 5 lug nuts off with my fingers.....After a somewhat heated conversation with their service department they told my wife that lots of men "think" they are mechanics and know things about vehicles, but guess what......I AM A MECHANIC, I make my living working on aircraft, which demands a high level of skill and attention to safety and detail. Long story short, if I had done the same thing, I would be searching for new employment. After making several promises to rectify the situation, and wining and dining us with apologies (most of which we should have gotten in writing), my wife took the vehicle in for routine service and they refused to honor the promises they made, and as for the lapse in safety "they have insurance for that" which is a huge comfort since my wife and 3 year old daughter drive/ride in the vehicle all the time. Please use due caution when having your vehicle serviced here. Seems as though they are more concerned about selling vehicles than they are safely maintaining those they head out the door......... read more
