The unit had a huge bedroom with a king-sized bed and TV, a fully equipped kitchenette/living area with a sleeper sofa and a huge picture window with a beach view. It was a quaint, beach-y cottage vibe that we absolutely loved. Everything we wanted to do was within easy walking distance or 1/2 block away from the free trolley. The owner even stopped by to see if our accommodations were satisfactory... which they were exceptional! We are already talking about planning our next trip.

We had a few good days and went into Sarasota to ride out the storm, but about a third of the guests came back after they opened up the bridge. The Gulf Stream rooms are a lot nicer than Smuggler's Cove, but we have been to Smuggler's Cove twice and liked it. A great place to spend a vacation and if the ocean is rough, the pool is wonderful. The Publix nearby is awesome for groceries and there are a lot of great restaurants around.

We did not sleep here, but we attended a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception at the Anna Maria Island Dream Inn last weekend (May 2018). The reason we did not stay here overnight was that they wouldn't allow us to book rooms as far out as their policy states (I called on three different days and was told it was too early again and again, given different dates that booking would open up each time), then when we called back to book on the day we were told we WOULD be allowed to book, they were already full. Very disappointing at first, but after seeing my friends' rooms, I was very glad that we stayed elsewhere. We arrived for the rehearsal (and to help set up the casual catering that was dropped off) and we were told that the space that our wedding party had PAID to reserve was not available to us because they'd booked another wedding (AFTER ours had booked) for same date and they were also having their rehearsal this evening and were told that they needed the bar and tables more because they're a larger party... ((Translation: "they paid more money but we'll keep your money too and you guys can figure it out.")) There wasn't even tables for us to set up our catered food! We had to turn over a rain barrel and bring a table down from one of the rooms (which we later got in trouble for) just to have space to set food... it was so embarrassing for our bride! The next night was the wedding and thankfully, we were able to move the ceremony up enough that it did NOT overlap with the other party (the AMI Dream Inn booked us for the same time on the same beach in the same space...). After all was done, we went upstairs to the outdoor "reception" area and - again - there were not tables and only lounge chairs to sit on. Thankfully, we were able to wrangle several beach chairs and salvage the reception. The second star is there because despite all of the disregard from the AMIDI staff and owners, we managed to make it fun, the beach was an absolutely beautiful place to have the wedding, and they still got married. Yee-haw! While this beach is an AMAZING PLACE to have a wedding, the AMI Dream Inn is NOT the venue I would choose when there are sooooooooo many other options for use on AMI. They care only about taking your money and telling you it's non-refundable when they double-book their venue.

As always, the property was immaculate and had everything needed to make it a stellar stay. I really appreciated the extremely well-equipped kitchen, as I love to cook. The private patio/pool area was just perfect for our Shih Tzu, Huey. The grounds are magnificently maintained, which is amazing, as they were just recovering from 2 hurricanes. Jill and Ben could not have been more attentive hosts. We needed a couple of things and they were on it immediately. No issue is too small and they take them all seriously. Their properties are immaculate and beautifully furnished. The service you receive from Ben and his staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. When our living room TV malfunctioned, one hour later Ben was at our door with a new one. When I mentioned I needed a bicycle for my physical therapy, one was delivered a few hours later. Courteous, efficient, reasonable, and accommodating are all adjectives that describe this company.

Everything on top 2 shelves froze - fruit was unusable afterwards. - The only beach equipment provided were 6 chairs, all the low-to-the- ground type, and one small, worn out beach cart. No beach umbrella. We called about this: They said "Too bad, that's what you get." Had to rent our own regular height beach chairs, a decent beach cart, a cooler, beach toys, and beach umbrella. - Ping pong paddles were worn out, no balls provided; we had to buy some at Publix. - No outdoor shower or hose. Only hose present was hooked up to the pool, unable to disconnect. We had to wash sand off our feet from a faucet behind some bushes.

It is unfortunate they would rather lose your business and potential rental income for someone. Be aware that apparently their prices change DAILY. Clearly it is profit over customer service.

This is our fourth visit to the area in sixth months, so we are quite familiar with appropriate prices for accommodations in this area. We stayed within 6 blocks of this place each time. Paid less and had fantastic accommodations. Where do I even begin with Island Time Inn? There was not a shower curtain in our unit. Over $350 a night and no shower curtain? There was a kitchen table with no chairs in Unit 5. The view from our door was of a lot full of garbage. The door on the second bedroom in our unit couldn't close because they put a bed in the way! The place was filthy. Inside and outside. Garbage sat on tables outside during our entire stay (6 days). Cigarette butts and beer cans everywhere. When we arrived, there was what appeared to be chunks of insulation on the kitchen counter. Unit 5 has broken boards in the decking within feet of the door. Someone could easily be hurt. Outside lighting after dark is non-existent. The beach chairs provided are rusted, filthy items that no one would ever want to use. We had several people visit. They each describe our rooms as looking similar to a bunch of guys' college apartment. The price does not at all match the accommodations. Not. Even. Close. Proximity to the beach is great. The kitchen is nicely stocked. Everything else is simply awful.
