We preferred 1st floor as you have a small patio on the front and back. #71 is one bedroom but has sofa pull-out bed if desired. The owner has it fully engineered with 3 ceiling fans, USB ports, storage everywhere, kitchen with all dish-ware, 2 TV's, plus all the little items you may have forgotten to bring. Well thought out for many little conveniences. Bonus, it is only a 7 minute walk to the village where there are many shops, restaurants, etc., but little parking available day or night. We walked to the Summer House and the Cottage and recommend both.

After ten consecutive years of mountain trips, we decided this year to head back to the beach and the gulf side of Florida that we used to be familiar. After quite a bit of research and reading numerous reviews, I reached out to Tim and Yvonne (managers of The Cottages at Siesta Key). It was one of the best decisions I ever made, as we hit it off immediately and had a rental agreement completed the very same day. We arrived at our destination at night well after the office closed to find that Tim and Yvonne has left our keys on the door along with a nice note and all pertinent instructions. The room was cute and super clean, which was the number one requirement for us. The pool was well maintained, and the beach access was only a very short walk of a couple hundred yards away. They even provided lounge chairs, an umbrella, and even a long handled shelling scoop for our use. We enjoy eating out each evening during our vacations, and there were a number of excellent choices within walking distance or a short drive from The Cottages. We enjoy bird photography, and an awesome state park was only a 30 minute or so drive away. The famed St. Armands Circle and Longboat Key were a comparable drive. In conclusion, we will certainly return to the Cottages at Siesta Key and now consider Tim and Yvonne to be personal friends!

The way too-early check out, after a lousy nights sleep, would really give me pause to stay here again. My friend and I were going to a kayaking trip in the morning and we had to repack everything we had unpacked just a few hours before. We were told if we wanted/needed to have a late check out, we would be charged a *full day*. WTH? To come back, I would have to bring my own window coverings, and painters tape (to cover any LED lights) to consider rebooking this hotel. The resort also has direct beach access, and complimentary beach chairs are included for guests. Umbrellas are available for just $15 each, which we thought was very reasonably priced. They also offer food and drinks at the beach. The room rates are affordable for everything the resort offers, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We had a few good days and went into Sarasota to ride out the storm, but about a third of the guests came back after they opened up the bridge. The Gulf Stream rooms are a lot nicer than Smuggler's Cove, but we have been to Smuggler's Cove twice and liked it. A great place to spend a vacation and if the ocean is rough, the pool is wonderful. The Publix nearby is awesome for groceries and there are a lot of great restaurants around.
