I'm from NY So I'm used to super awesome nail places, that are accommodating, talented with brush @ a fair price & that's Lynn's! I call them up @ 7 and yes they always manage to squeeze me in. Once they were there for over 2hrs extra trying to take all the late comers ;-) *Just be clear in what you want b/c they move quick and are usually in high demand. Try a few artists there and see which one suits you best. I like Vannah b/c she does my nails just the way I like them. Also Tina is there eyebrow specialist and she makes sure to use only the sensitive wax on my eyebrows ;-) Luv it Luv it Luv it there! Ive been here a couple of times and most times were good experience but my last was the worst and made me realize i will not go back ever again. The women who was doing my nails was nice but did not fully understand me. I got the same thing i normally would but instead got tips but was over charged, and walked out extremely upset. Worst ever, I never experienced anything like it. I wanted it to be special and it turned out a disaster. The woman doing my nails did a very quick and sloppy job. She skipped over several procedures that I know she should have done. I finished way before my boyfriend (how is that even possible he wasn't getting polish?) & we started at the same time (If my nails weren't proof enough that she did something wrong). The manicurist even got loud with me because I smudged one of my nails while trying to pay her and it was her idea to pay her before they dried! I wanted to cry. Lynn completely ruined my lashes. First of all they were way too thick to begin with and I didn't care for the look. I even could see the clumps of glue. THEN mine began to fall out within days. The first time I got clusters done it took 2 weeks for my first lashes to fall out. To make matters worse after 2 weeks they looks to terrible and spotty I decided to try to remove them the same way I did last time. She putt on SO MUCH GLUE I couldn't barely get them off. By time I got them off my eyelid was completely BALD. This did NOT happen the first time I got them done. The first time I removed them with oil I still had lashes. I'm not sure how good she is with individuals but do NOT LET LYNN PUT FLARE LASHES ON YOU. I can't remember the name of the person who did my flare lashes the first time but she did a great job. I have nothing good to say. I waited nearly two hours and still did not receive a mani or pedi. I was told several times that I would be next, only to have people who called while I was waiting serviced. They said, they had an appointment, but I heard the appointment being made while I sat. HOW DO YOU CONTINUE TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE 7 PEOPLE WAITING! Never did the woman answering the phone suggest a later time. In addition, they have no system for walk-ins to sign in to be taken in order. Cannot recommend.......as I watched the work, I noticed as it got busier, they rushed the clients....NOT COOL.....the mani-pedi experience is suppose to be relaxing. This was my 3rd visit to salon and the worst. I still am experiencing pain in boh of my big toes after technician (?) supposedly removed my ingrown toe nail. I know what a good removal feels like after this is done, I can say this was done inproperly if I am experiencing pain. The other major problem is the tools she used for my mani were rusted and I didn't notice until she was done, so should I be concerned that my toes hurt--yes I am concerned. BOOOOO!!!! read more

I had the worst experience at Lynn's Nails yesterday. Yesterday was my first time ever going to Lynn's as I have a preferred place, but I figured I would give it a try since it is close to my home. I walked in during the morning and there were not many clients in the shop. Even though manicurists were available, I waited without any update for forty minutes before starting my pedicure. No one spoke to me or introduced themselves during the process. The pedicure aspect was fine. However, when I moved on to the manicure, this is when I should have walked out. The woman cut three of my fingers during the process. I have a major gash on one of my fingers and she knew because it was bleeding throughout the process. The way that she tried to clean it was incredibly unsanitary. She poured some alcohol solution on it and then dabbed it with a dirty napkin that she had previously been using. She still continued to paint my fingernail even though it was bleeding - there are specks of blood dried into the polish. She never apologized. She was too busy yelling back and forth in conversation with other coworkers to stop and focus on what she was doing. When my hands were drying, she walked over with neosporin to put on one of my fingers. She accidentally squirted the neosporin into my hair and once again did not apologize. I cannot believe that I even paid for this. My nails all feel incredibly sore and the gash on my thumb looks disgusting. I am hoping that I do not get an infection, but based on the lack of sanitary conditions in the salon, I'm not holding my breath. I will never go back and would strongly discourage anyone from going here. read more

Ladies & Gents do yourselves a favor go to this great little nail shop located in my hood at Lower Mills Dorchester. Yesterday was the second time I went. I needed to pamper myself so I got a pedicure. Now, I have been around for quite awhile and I know when I'm getting the best service possible. I had to make sure that it wasn't a one time fluke so that's why I went again and I am sold. I read some of the previous remarks and I will tell you that they are very clean, the shop is neat and it doesn't have that chemical smell that most nail shops have. All the girls there are very friendly and eager to please. Okay, so I didn't have to wait, and was immediately taken upstairs to get started. After they turn on the water/jet sprays they let your feet soak for a bit. They trimmed my nails (asked to make sure I wanted them trimmed) they cleaned underneath my toenails, along the sides and they trimmed off the excess cuticle/skin, they used what looked to be a Ped Egg to slough out the rough edges and after used a foot scrubber. They poured out plenty of liquids on my feet, some thick other's light and all the while my feet where massaged. Towards the end they put hot towels on both your feet and its like you hear your feet say "ahhhhh" - Hands down the best pedicure I've ever gotten, the cost $25. Yelpers, you let me down. I came here early last Sunday morning - I was promptly greeted and was sat in a pedi chair right away. The woman who did my pedi and gel mani was quite aggressive. I had to ask her several times to back off on the foot scrubbing for fear my feet would start bleeding ( I have pretty normal feet, nothing needed to be attacked) but the paint job came out nicely. Then came the disaster gel manicure. Paint all over my cuticles, 4 coats on one finger, and too much time in the dryer. When I spoke with the manager about my disappointment in the job (which I failed to mention took almost two hours to complete! Wow!) she let me know that if my nails began to peal within a week, I could come back for a re-do. Two days later my nails started to peal, and when I walked back into Lynn's I was told that Amy was the only person available to re-do the job. No thanks. Needless to say, I have no plans to return anytime soon. read more

The manager Lynn does the best eyebrows, I would not go to anyone else. Plus she remembers you and makes you feel like a welcomed friend. The manicure whether regular / gel/ shellac is pretty great especially for the pricing. The pedicure is decent but really unsanitary they use tools from a college caddie that seems unsanitary, another thing is that it is rushed and not really the best. But overall for waxing it is a GOTO for Mani it is a GOTO but pedi not so much. read more

The women who did my nails burned and all around my finger tips with the drill. I ended up paying $50 for a fill with shellac when I was told it was $30 on the phone. She said because she has to file my nails down it was an extra $5 then because I asked for lotion after getting my nails done it was an extra $5. And I called to make an apt and they did not have me written down, but I called early that morning and they said the only time they could get me in was later that night. When I went there i had to wait 40 min to get my nails done and that was with an appointment. The lady I had spent more time on her phone then she did anything else. When I waked in I picked a color and the women that did my nails did not like it so she painted them gray with a black tip then told me it was an extra $5 because I changed my color last min and and extra $5 for the black tips. But did not tell me of all these extra charges till after she was done.. read more

I went to Lynn's on a Sunday 2 months ago and had a mani/pedi with gel nail polish. The same day I had my nails done, 1 hr later the gel was PEELING. I went back to the shop, WAITED 20mins and the owner Lynn fixed my nails. I was annoyed I had to go back twice in one day but my nail was fixed so I was over it. Tuesday morning I woke up and again my nail polish was PEELING. I was beyond irritated as I had to work all week so I wasn't able to go back to the salon until Saturday. I called the salon Tuesday, explained I had my nails done for 2 days and its already peeled twice, she instructed me to return to the store, I explained I had work, she agreed Saturday would be fine. Saturday (1 day shy of a week since I had initially had it done) I went back to the shop and explained the story to the tech who usually does my nails there. I wont mention her name because she is great, this review is about the OWNER LYNN and her LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. the Tech removed my nail polish and told me she would have to charge me AGAIN to redo my nails. I was taken aback, did not feel I should pay TWICE for a service that was not done properly the first time. I asked to speak with the manager and I was presented with Lynn. Lynn, in a very aggressive tone explained to me that sometimes the nail polishes are "not good so they don't last long on nails" and "OPI, not always good, try another brand." I listened to her rationale as to why my nails peeled 1 hr after they were done and another day after the initial peel was repair. All her rationales pointed to the product as the problem, a product her SHOP STOCKS and USED on my nails so I didn't understand why I had to pay another $30 to get my nails done. Overall, Lynn was very rude, she insisted that I pay again for a service that was never done properly and because I work too hard for my money I nicely told her I would never go back to Lynns. Since that incident 2 months ago i have stopped going to Lynns. The place is clean, most of the staff are friendly and really do a good job however, the face of the business, Lynn, could use a lesson in customer service. read more

I can't believe I had such a bad experience when I went there yesterday. I've been going there for a few months but after this time, I'll be looking for another salon nearby. They must have been in a bad mood and Lynn did not do a good job on my manicure. I watched as Ann and Lynn bickered about something, then she hastily finished my nails quickly. I could see smudges and when I asked to get them redone. She seemed so mad and said something under her breath. I've never had such bad customer service. I will never go back. I really do not know how this place was rated 5 stars to begin with. SMH I was in need of a mani and decided to try this place out since it's not to far from home. I walked in and was greeted by an older lady, she asked what I needed and told me to pick a color and have a seat. She quickly told the lady upstairs what I needed. Shortly after the lady upstairs started vacuuming, I waited about 10 minutes for her to finish, and then proceeded upstairs. I sat on the fist chair and was stunned at the fact that the lady did not say a word and began to take off my polish. Soon after she reached for her cell phone which I didn't mind but lady you are cutting off my cuticles and yapping away. I went for shellac which I've done in the past. She took out this black OPI UV dryer which I had never seen or used, I was told by her to go under the dryer twice but when I did so she began huffing and puffing and yelling at me not to go under the dryer. I was confused, but did not confront her about what she had told me earlier, i tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and just took her nasty attitude. When she applied the second coat of color she told me again to alternate and go under the dryer twice. When she was ready to use the top coat, she yelled at me AGAIN! at that point I was fed up with her nastiness so I told her that I had never used that machine before and that she was the nail tech not me! did I leave out that she painted my nails as if I had them painted for over a week? I could see my white mind you I got a black onyx color UGH meanwhile I am looking at her nails and they are painted perfectly. After the second day my color is chipping! why did I pay for shellac to have them chip in 2 days?Once done I asked her how much I owed, she replied 25 I left her a $2.00 said thank you and she did not even respond. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER GO BACK or recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been coming to this salon for about two years now solely based off of the unbelievable service I have received from Jenny and Tina on my eyelash extensions. They will go above and beyond to help fulfill your needs, at times they have come into this shop early and closed late for several customers just to make sure we got what we needed done. When I called the other day to set up an appointment with Jenny to refill my eyelashes, I was told she doesn't work there anymore. Luckily, I have her personal phone number and she informed me that Tina and herself have moved to a different location. I am so happy for them! I know this place has a lot of glowing reviews so I feel obligated to chime in with my less than glow-y review although I did not actually have a bad manicure or pedicure there. This afternoon my 4.5 year old decided she needed to have her first manicure and pedicure. Actually, she didn't really want a real mani/pedi - she just wanted to go with me and have someone paint her nails. ANyway, given that my little one would be tagging along I called first to ask about how busy they were and if we'd have to wait too long. the woman who answered said to come right down no problem. We got there about 20 in later and there were five people crowded in to the little waiting area and pretty much very station occupied. Now it's a busy saturday afternoon so I totally get that - but when i asked the woman who greeted us how long it would be she just said - pick a color. When i realized all the women sitting around were waiting I decided to head further into Dot to my real favorite nail salon where they always can take you right away. SO, I did not have bad service there, but it was really busy on Sat afternoon and unlike another yelper, I found that they did not give an honest assessment of expected wait time. I will probably stick with my tried and true salon even though this one is closer to my house. read more
