Parking was packed on my visit to Lynnwood Library this afternoon, Wednesday 2 July 2025. The library abutted the recreational center though there was library-specific parking on the side of the library opposite the recreational center. Tall trees between the parking strips provided shade for the parked vehicles. The entry/exit way of the building was straightforward to navigate and sections in the library were well marked. I was particularly impressed with the non-fiction offerings in the movies section. They were organized by subject with names on movie jacket bindings easy to read. Approximate run times for the titles I checked were not covered by library barcodes. As run time did factor in in to my selection today, I appreciated the run times were not covered. Check-out went smoothly. read more

I always have a positive experience here. They offer many resources for the community. There's group classes, events for family and children held regularly. I typically come and use the computers or printing services. Sno-Isles is generous and offers $7.00 of free printing per week. They recently updated their print system and remote printing is now available. The book selection here is better than most. They also have a lenient return policy and will not charge you for returning books late. Overall, the library environment is friendly and the staff are willing to help. I enjoy watching the fish in the saltwater aquarium tank :) read more

Back to the Lynnwood Library. Recently one of our family members gifted another a newer used compact SUV, minus the owner's manual. Off to the library to use their generous print/copy services for patrons for an online PDF version of the missing owner's manual. This was a confusing process, but Adriana in Tech Services was generous with her assistance and also kind and pleasant during the process. When she was thanked for her exemplary customer support, she replied, That's what we're her for. A shoutout to a really nice lady, and a smart one too. read more

I haven't been to the library in a while and had to fill out a form online at one of their tables. It was quick and easy. I went to the front desk to get my card. They have a variety of choices to fit your personality. One card for your key ring, one for your wallet. I didn't check any books out today, but bought 2 hard backs for cheap at the "books for sale" display. read more

This is one of the better libraries in the area located behind the Fred Meyers on 44th Ave W. The library is spacious and quiet. What makes this place great is the parking lot, which has plenty of trees to provide shading for your car during those sweltering summer days. The library staff are also very helpful with whatever questions the patrons have. read more

Since my life changed dramatically in 2019, I've been relying on the library more and more. I used to buy (mostly used) books like crazy (seriously, at times it felt like an addiction or something) and I had a huge collection, but when I moved to a much smaller home, I completely downsized and now own very few books. Fortunately the library has a surprisingly huge collection of material that I no longer need to buy books. The only time I do so now is if I can't find them in the Sno-Isle catalog and REALLY want to read the book. Aside from the ongoing construction on 196th (which thankfully has gotten better), the Lynnwood Library is really convenient and easy to get to. I wish there were more parking spaces closer to the front, but usually I don't have much trouble finding a place if I go later in the day. The library itself is huge and I love that I can go online and put things on hold and then come pick them up when I get an email notice. I also really appreciate the fact that cardholders can print up to $7 worth of documents per week because I currently don't have my printer hooked up so it's been a lifesaver. The website is great and there is so much good information on it. Probably one of the best sites I've seen. Call me crazy, but I have spent hours just searching through the catalog (especially the "On Order") section. The staff are really helpful and things are easy to find. They've done some rearranging and brought back their Book Sale, which, although I probably won't buy anything anytime soon, it's nice to know that it's returned. Speaking of returns... Wow... I cannot believe that they don't charge at all for returning materials late. I rarely return things late, but I almost feel like I should do something to thank them. Hopefully this review will suffice. Now for the not so good... There is a two minute parking space in front of the library where you can park and take your materials to the book drop. Unfortunately there is a bench nearby and over half the time, there is someone sitting or sleeping on it which really makes me feel uncomfortable. There have been times when I have parked somewhere else and gone into the library to return my material if the library is open and someone is sitting/laying there. Several months ago I started going to the Edmonds Library due to the construction but more because they have a freestanding drop box just outside the library where I can quickly drive up and return my materials. The library itself is not as convenient as Lynnwood, but it makes me feel safer to return materials at night. I REALLY, REALLY wish that Lynnwood would either do something about the people who sleep or sit on that bench all day or else install one of those drop boxes near the library like the one in Edmonds. That being said, I love the library and I hope they can make changes to make getting in and out of the library safer at night. read more

Let's take it down a notch. Was closed yesterday (no holiday), opening late today 11am, and closed Monday for President's Day. I probably drive away because of them being closed than actually partake of services. A lot of the books are propagandist. Knowledge books are sparse and vampire girlfriend, magic books abound. Surveillance city should improve it's library system. 1/5 for that. However, librarians here are nice so 3/5. read more

In all honesty, I prefer to study at a boba cafe or bakery over the Lynnwood Library. This library is way too chatty! It's hard to study and get work done here because people don't shut up. There are also quite a few homeless people lurking around at all hours which is a safety issue. The security is quite friendly though and they do walk around patrolling the area. I do like the free printing, though. You get an allowance of 70-something free prints per week. Your computer use is limited to 2 hours a day which is reasonable and allows fair use for all. But I normally just bring my laptop if I need to crank something out in a couple hours. The young man working at the technology station in the afternoons is very pleasant and helpful but I don't see him much anymore. I never really interacted with any of the librarians, except one who was really grouchy. read more

These people are so helpful, I don't have names and don't want to forget anyone. But for covid I see the work they are doing for our community. I really appreciate them. Tracking book, setting up the lobby to have our books ready for pickup or printing virtually. What an effort they move quickly at the front door to help you while answering the door. Mid sized library. Good set up. This library is usually pretty busy. My favority thing about this location is that they always have books for sale for a very reasonable price. A quarter for paperbacks and 50 cents for hardbacks. And they have a huge selection. I come here before every trip, vacation, whatever and stock up. Then I just leave them where ever I finished them. Simply incredible customer service. I emailed because I was having trouble creating an account online. I got a quick response from Laura telling me that they went ahead and created my account manually. Awesome! Then a few days later I had another question, so I emailed again. Again I got a super fast response that was helpful and informative. This is all during the covid-19 shutdown while I'm sure they're getting a ton of new accounts and emails. I had a problem where I kept getting error messages from a website that lets you download books from the library and called the library for help I wish h I had the woman's name who answered the phone but she tried logging in and couldn't either and I thanked her for trying and said that I would call the website support site for help Unfortunately that website only lets you type in a message which could take a couple of days to get an answer To my surprise about two hours later I got a call from the same librarian or volunteer who did some checking on her own and called back to let me know that the error message was fixed and I could now get my book She didnt have to do that at all seeing as I indicated I would deal with the website itself But I am so thankful she did and so impressed with her and the Lynnwood library Thank you! read more

The only redeeming quality about this place is that it's open on Sundays and later on Saturdays than the King County libraries. Aside from that, the place smells bad, the people (patrons and staff included) are loud, and it's dirty. When the librarian is causing most of the noise re-arranging shelves in the quiet study area during the prime hours, then there's really no purpose of creating a quiet area. I only come here because I'm desperate. Pro-tip: Bring noise cancelling headphones. You'll need it. read more

Really great Sno-Isle library location. This location is extremely busy, but for good reason. They have a ton of computers for public use, free b&w printing, and lots of movies and books on the shelves. This may not sound out of the ordinary, but many of the sno-isles library locations have a small selection on the shelves and depend on online requests sent between libraries. Online requests are a great feature for Sno-Isles patrons. It's kind of like netflix for books, cds and movies. You can request items online and when you are first in line, it's sent to the library closest to you (or the library of your choosing). It's pretty sweet. read more

I came here for the first time a few days ago to pick up a lot of books that I put on hold. I was amazed how busy the place was! TONS of people, either sitting at tables, at the computers or just roaming through the aisles of books. There was definitely too much noise and movement for a library. I considered coming here as a home away from home but after seeing how noisy it can be, I don't think so. I will definitely still come to check-out the books I put on hold. And times when I'm too broke to frivolously buy magazines, I will come and read them here... if I can find a seat. read more

This is my favorite library in the area. The selection is great and the staff is always friendly. The kids' area is cute and fun. I also love the free programs they have like baby and toddler story times. It can be busy and noisy at times and therefore hard to study, but I've found that the seating area in the back is usually quieter than the front of the library. read more

Remodeled and purdy! I love what they did to the place. The colors are amazing, and I love the new glassed-in area for the computers - I think they called it something like the creative station - please correct me if I'm wrong. Since we were only coming in to pick up something very quickly, I didn't explore that area too much. I love the multimedia section, and frequently check out dvds (they tend to have an excellent selection of obscure movies and tv series). My son is slowly outgrowing the children's area, but it's such a great place for kids - lots of kid-friendly computers and tons of books in a very open and bright area. I'm so proud to call the Lynnwood Library my home library. read more

this library is bigger than most sno-isle libraries, probably has the most computers available for use and the staff is always friendly. Problem is during the day, the library turns into a playground! Very noisy and kids running around screaming even near the silent study area. The study area is always smelly during the day and the bathrooms are not the cleanest. I would come here to browse and check out books, and maybe to use the computer for printing stuff (they do give you 70 pages free a week) but definitely don't come here if you're looking for a quiet place to study. read more

Love this library. Love these librarians. I take my kids here every ten days or so, and I have been doing that for about eight years now. They treat my kids like royalty - even putting aside books they think they might enjoy. My children are avid readers - this library is part of the reason why. Check it out! read more

Decent library, great location and hours (much better hours than KCLS). It's big with a lot of areas to study. Haven't checked out the books myself, but looks like they have a big selection. They have a lot of community events, such as book readings for kids. One major complaint I have is related to the amount of homeless people who hang out in this library. While they mainly keep to themselves, sometimes they overcrowd this place, especially in the studying corners in the back. The library has an elderly security guard, but he mainly walks around, eyeballs the homeless, and just continues walking or turns the other way. Not much is done to curb the amount of homeless people in this library. Wish this could be fixed! read more

The librarians up front are hit and miss. One was particular rude to me which was uncalled for. I hate the fact that bums smoke right by the door and none of the employees say anything to these individuals. There isn't much noise control in general. I always used to study in the tech center area. But one day, 3 separate group of like teenage kids were all just talking loudly where some others were studying. I thought it was a food court, cuz it wasn't one group talking, but three. I went to ask the employee if there's a rule that it has to be quiet, and the guy said no. So I went to the back area, which is a quiet area. Yeah, there's a lot of homeless people in general, but it makes me happy seeing them. You see people renting laptops and popping in dvds and watching movies. And a lot of old people and what look like poor people using the computers. Looks like our tax dollars are at work. Good to see they have access to resources that might help them get a job or just not be so disconnected from the world in general. Free prints up to 70 sheets per week. That's just dang awesome. I really like it. It's nothing fancy. Just a place to bring your homework, pop in some earphones, and study. Hours are more descent than most other places. Except the weekends... read more

I like this library. It is one of the largest if not the largest library in the SnoIsle system. I usually visit this library instead of our Edmonds library because it's on my way home from work or shopping. The downside to this library is that it attracts a few homeless folks but they seem to be harmless and where else will they go? For awhile the lobby had a pervasive urine smell but that seems to have gone away. The library meeting room has displays of art and photography from local artists. It's Lynnwood, so get that behind you and enjoy this library. read more

I really like this library. It is a good size and has areas for studying, quiet reading, computer use, and kids. Sno-isle libraries are great because if your local library doesn't have the book you want they can send it over from another Sno-isle library. The only thing about the Lynnwood library that I don't like is that it is a hang out for homeless people. I don't mean to sound discriminatory but it can be a little scary to walk up to the book drop when there are a group of homeless men sitting out front. Also, the bathrooms, even the ladies bathroom, smells strongly of urine. read more

The facility and amenities are great, however the staff do nothing to control the noise, and actually contribute to it. They talk loudly to patrons in the library and on the phone, and don't stop people from making too much noise. There are people with screaming kids walking around and they don't even ask them to leave when there are clearly people here studying quietly, I wish that the computer tables were in a separate room so it would be easier to study. I came here to get away from noise so I could do homework and study, but it wasn't very helpful to do so. read more

This library always has really sketchy people coming to hang out. I don't feel safe coming here to study. The staff members are really grumpy all the time. I am a young student who loves to study in the quiet area. Usually, I'm the youngest in the quiet area. However, the people in the library complained that I was making too much noise, and a staff member suggested that I move. It's a very politically correct area in the most unnecessary way. Never go here. Find a bigger place with way nicer people. read more
