I was immediately greeted by the folks at the middle desk and as I studied I could hear them kindly checking in on others and helping out. They're friendly here, I definitely loved the vibe. I chose a large table in the fiction section where there was a magical looking Hobbit painting and giant windows on the sides. Even on a cloudy day these windows provide a lot of natural light and it's a motivating spot to sit and get work done. You can even sit at the window sill and really enjoy the light. I was happy to find my table had an outlet on the desk for convenience but there are also outlets laid out everywhere. A huge plus! The computer areas are also scattered throughout instead of it being a large area where you have to sit with everyone and I thought that was pretty cool. Another plus for the study room fully equipped! However, online it says they're currently not available but I'm looking forward to it opening back up!

The…read morelibrary abutted the recreational center though there was library-specific parking on the side of the library opposite the recreational center. Tall trees between the parking strips provided shade for the parked vehicles. The entry/exit way of the building was straightforward to navigate and sections in the library were well marked. I was particularly impressed with the non-fiction offerings in the movies section. They were organized by subject with names on movie jacket bindings easy to read. Approximate run times for the titles I checked were not covered by library barcodes. As run time did factor in in to my selection today, I appreciated the run times were not covered. Check-out went smoothly.

They even had a little craft project at the end of class that tied into the book theme. We really enjoyed that. The songs were so fun and interactive and the staff leader was so sweet with the kids. I have looked through the shelves at my local libraries in the King County Library System a number of times, so coming here I was interested to see if I could find something different. As I do not have a Sno-Isle library card I could not check anything out, however I could look and sit and read in library. I utilized street parking for my visit, though there is a parking lot shared with the Anderson Center to the east of the main entrance. Shelving in the library was short stacks with items low/close to the ground. Books were broken into youth and adult sections. There were computer work stations as well as a larger classroom-like work space and a few small study rooms. In the movies section I spotted a 2019 PBS documentary on weasels, a good one as my family and I had a family of long tailed weasels (mustela frenata) in the vicinity of our house a few times over the past years, they are a native species in the area. Perhaps most varied from the libraries I frequent in terms of what I looked over today was the biography section (adult books section). Limiting myself to one that captured my attention, I selected a 2017 book "Being Elvis: A Lonely Life" by Ray Connolly. I had not seen that one before on the shelves in my library system. I put both the movie and book on hold. Exploring the in library sitting/reading options, I found a big comfy/soft chair with a movable table by a recycling area. It was nice that the table beside the table was small and could be moved to make using it more comfortable. Lighting throughout the library was a bit variable, might have been in part due to the tall ceilings.

I had a book to return and found the electronic returns slot easy to use with instructions clearly communicated on the screen above the returns slot/conveyer belt. Which door(s) to use on entrance/exit were also clearly marked. Different sections in the library were labeled with signage. In addition to sections for books, DVDs, audio books, and magazines, there were computer work stations, study room(s)/space(s), and tables with chairs open for use. I looked over some of the books in the non-fiction and biographies sections, opting for a biography on John Muir. On my way towards check out, I found some information about the United States of America naturalization process. I thought that was cool. It also got me thinking about how one would go about learning both about the naturalization process and the history to be tested on for a naturalization test if moving internationally. While I did not get something this time, perhaps a book on the naturalization process logistics would be interesting, generally speaking. Still helpful to have informational flyers/pamphlets with some introductory/resource information available/accessible. Self check out and check out with a librarian stations were located closer to the entrance/exit in the standard KCLS computer set up. The desk/counter the self check out computers were located on was in the theme of a large slab of wood for the counter. Overall enjoyed the feel/ambiance of the library as well as the offerings.

That is totally normal, to come into contact with germs EVERY day. That's how you build up your immune system. Not only does they chemicals they spray onto the keyboard and earphones cause cancer, it deprives humans of coming into contact with GERMS, which is VITAL to build up your immune system.

It's a small place but you can go online and ask them to bring things available in Seattle or elsewhere to Monroe, and then roll in and pick them up. I put myself on the waiting list for the last Game of Thrones season and despite being number 68 on the list, I had it within a week. They have a job club for those searching, and other community activities, lots of magazines, free internet, easy parking, and a free Seattle Times Sunday edition. I have cancelled my Netflix subscription, as I can get pretty much anything I want through them. Yay! $16 a month now in my pocket. I love, love, love this library.
