Wow wow wow amazing breakfast spot ! I am so glad we found this spot before heading to the new balance championships. They have tons of breakfast sandwich options ( bacon, sausage , turkey and ham) and breads including ( wheat, white, potato, bagel etc ) It's cash only so make sure you have cash before ordering. Nice hidden gem of a food truck. We stopped here for breakfast and got sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel. They also had regular bagels, muffins, and different sandwiches. The amount I got was definitely worth the value I paid for (was able to split between me and my friend). The only issue is to prepare for the long wait in the morning as it took me about 15-20 minutes to get my food after ordering. Whenever I'm in the area, I make it a point to visit Lyn's. These are the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in my life. Not sure if this something to be proud of but I would consider myself a connoisseur of breakfast sandwiches far and wide. I like their Western omelette on a hoagie on the standard menu but I don't think you can go wrong here. Try their specials if they fit within your diet though (some have meat if you're a vegetarian). I had a breakfast sandwich special on a hoagie with hot honey and eggs prepared with coriander and a mix of other herbs that has set my standard for breakfast sandwiches. Ah, Lyn's. That sandwich shall not be forgotten. Seriously though, just make your way here when you're in Philly somehow. An apparent staple of the Penn community, I walked by on an early Wednesday morning where there was perfectly no line for me to try the famous food truck and try to satisfy my stomach. The owners of the food truck were quick to greet and eagerly ready to take my order. With the help of a friend's expertise, I got a long roll sandwich with spinach + eggs, sausage, and cheese cut in half. With nothing but food on my mind at 8:30 am, I quickly scurried home to try it. By far, this is one of the most complete breakfast meals you could want on the go. One bite and I was filled with all the feelings American breakfast foods should provide - comfort, willingness, and warmth. Succeeding at all three, I even added some sriracha to really wake me up from the food coma I was about to arrive in. If the line is short, GET IT. If it's long and you got nothing to do, GET IT. I promise you, better than 90% of the brunch areas in University City are within walking distance between 34th and 40th street. Came here once 4 years ago when my fiancée was still a student at Penn and have been dying to come back. This is probably the food truck I visit the most, about once or twice a week. With low prices, fast (and kind) service, and an extensive menu, it's the perfect place for a student to stop by for lunch. My favorite item is the eggplant spinach parmesan; it's a pretty unique item compared to other sandwich trucks, a super-filling meal for just $3.50 on a pita or short roll, and I can tell myself it's vegetarian and thus healthy even though it's probably not. Their breakfast sandwiches are also a popular choice, allowing for lots of customization, but I stick to a simple egg, spinach, and cheese on a plain bagel. They grill the bagel which is an amazing touch! I also just tried the cheesesteak for the first time, and at only $5, it's a great deal compared to a sit-down place and also just as good. Some tips: Lyn's opens pretty early so it's a perfect spot for an early breakfast when the other trucks are closed, but it also closes early at 3pm so get there before then! Also, if you order something that ends in $0.50 and don't want to deal with change, just get a bag of chips for $0.50 to round it up. read more

Working very close by, Lyn's has become a staple lunch-time item during sunny summer days. Lyn and her husband - who usually works the grill - are so sweet and treat every customer with the utmost respect. Not to mention, Lyn has a crazy memory, she'll remember your face and order among a slough of other customers even if you've only been to the cart a few times! In terms of the food, its as good as it gets - my go to has been the chicken cheesesteak special which comes with mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions all for only $5.75! As a relatively active guy I feel super satiated from a single sandwich; some of my friends order the sandwiches here and have enough for two meals. Eggplant spinach parm pita is delicious, but I give the truck 4 stars because i just don't think it's that "OMG WOW!!" Eggplant is great and tasty, the pita is warm, soft, and fresh, and the tomato sauce is perfect. However, the portion is kinda small, and my friend and i were still hungry afterwards, so we decided to split an egg and cheese sandwich from another food truck lol. What Lyn's does, Lyn's does well. To preface this review, I've only been here a few times for lunch in the recent past. However, my experiences here have been nothing short of amazing. I don't consider myself a huge food truckie, but Lyn's is one of my new favorite food trucks to hit up in Philly. I've had a few things here and there -- the eggplant spinach parm is solid (although the slices of eggplant themselves are pretty thin), the "italian sausage works" works (I like to get parmesan sauce on mine -- is that weird??), and the salads are surprisingly big and filling. The service itself is fantastic. There's always a decent amount of people in line here (which is a good sign), but Lyn works quickly and efficiently, while also remaining super friendly the entire time. Prices are good for what you're getting. Need to try the breakfast here (usually have a hard time getting up in the mornings to begin with, which might be the problem) to get the entire scope of this little spot near the quad. I always tell myself I'm going to get tired of this place, but for some reason, I can't stop myself from coming back. read more

Lyn's was definitely my fave when I lived in the Quad! I got her pizza steaks all the time. I'm not huge on cheese, so I like when the pizza sauce covered it all up. (However, this made much of the menu pretty limiting to me.) Lyn is also very nice and polite, and they're sure not to dirty your food with money-grubbing hands. Cheap, consistent, and convenient!
