I got the Chicken Katsu (fried chicken) Cupbop today which includes fried egg, two dumplings, side of corn, salad, and rice all in a little bento box container. It seems like it's small but there's a good amount of food inside for only $13.50. You get a choice of sauce. I picked Sweet Mayo which is really good with the fried chicken. I used to go here often years ago and decided to give it another shot today - my mistake. Tuna Hoagie I ordered was absolutely awful - texture of a wet diaper and the tuna salad was something you would get in a high school cafeteria. Extremely expensive compared to sandwich shops around it - I started to feel sick about four hours after eating here and could not get the awful taste of the tuna salad out of my mouth. I thought I would be Metropolitan and got a bulgogi cheesesteak. It came on a Toasted Roll. It was a good roll but I think toasting it makes it a little bit better. The meat was good but needed more of it. The heavy soy-based sauce gave his Cheesesteak a lot of flavor. Biting into carrot while eating a cheesesteak always gives an interesting taste sensation. Drop what you're doing and try this place immediately! I was prepping for my trip home and wanted to stop at somewhere unique and tasty and stumbled upon this place while walking through the city! Bodega Style sandwiches and breakfast food are their specialties! I had the Philly cheese steak breakfast quesadilla which includes eggs, cheese, steak, peppers and onions. Doesn't look like much when you walk in but this place is a gem. Its is my go-to deli when I am at work. Best/freshest salad around and I am very fussy about my salads. Produce is incredibly fresh and delicious. A typical garden salad has two kinds of cherry tomatoes, multi-colored carrot slices, cucumber, red cabbage, sliced green peppers and red onion. I normally get tuna salad on top (not overly mayonnaise) but today I got a chef salad. Beautiful presentation. Great prices. Went for breakfast last Saturday. (Take out) Got the eggs with scrapple platter. Scrapple was cooked just the way I like it, and the hash browns were on point as well. I've tried to like this place but I have had two very bad experiences. The first time I came here a couple of months ago, ordered a breakfast sandwich. The place wasn't busy and only a few other people were there. After waiting almost an hour, they told me they "forgot" and had to put the ticket back in. After waiting 20 more minutes, over an hour at this point, I got my food and walked out. As soon as I got to my car outside, and opened the bag, the food was FREEZING COLD, and my order was WRONG!!! I was so annoyed, especially because the place WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL!! I was so frustrated at that point that I went into the Dunkin' directly across the street and got a breakfast sandwich, that came hot and correct, and had a better experience there than Good Day Deli. I decided to try and give this place another shot this past week. Decided to go in and order in person again, and see if maybe it was just a bad day. Nope. I ordered again, a simple breakfast sandwich off their menu, no modifications - waited almost 30 minutes just for someone to keep telling me "it's about to be done". Again, they weren't busy and only had ONE other customer in the entire place. The employees, not the chefs, are rude as well and offered no form of customer service after I dealt with this twice. The younger Asian gentleman specifically was very condescending and had no customer service whatsoever. Don't worry it gets better. I opened up my breakfast sandwich to ketchup on it, I find a NASTY PIECE OF HAIR in my eggs!!! I threw the food in the garbage where it belongs. I will never ever come back. I've talked to other people in my apartment building nearby who have come here recently and also have had very similar experiences. Avoid this place at all costs, it's not worth getting cold soggy food with hair in it. Dunkin is literally 10x better, which is sad. read more

This location was super easy to get to, only a couple blocks from my work. I also like how their awning has the name of their deli very visible (so it is easy to see from far away). The woman behind the counter was nice, I told her I was here to pick up my order, and she had my order bagged up and ready to go on the side. She told me not to forget to grab my canned Pepsi out of the fridge. (I ended up taking a canned Brisk Iced Tea since I did not see that listed as an option online and preferred that). The hoagie was good, I just did not expect there to be lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich (I thought I had to check those off online if I wanted those, which I did not). It wasn't a big deal, I just slid the lettuce and tomato off the hoagie. The hoagie was also a lot larger than I anticipated. I was contemplating saving the other half for later tonight, but then I also ate it. I ordered a honey turkey hoagie with cheddar cheese, oil, salt, and pepper. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries, and the Pepsi (which I changed to Brisk). I thought the sweet potato fries were also good. I would definitely try out this place again. I don't get it. I went here after so many recommendations from coworkers because I was looking for a quick lunch spot. They visit the deli frequently for breakfast and lunch. I was so unimpressed the first time with my fried chicken sandwich and salad that I said it must be a fluke! I gave it another shot and I can't tell you how sorry I am. This is a good old center city Philadelphia deli, that makes terrific breakfast and lunch for a great price. Pretty much everyone can make a pretty decent breakfast in town, but these guys are nice, friendly, clean and courteous, I always feel like I'm part of the neighborhood when I visit this area. Are usually get a pork roll egg and cheese on a roll for under 5 bucks. I have also ordered a cheesesteak there a couple times and they come out great. This is a very modest place do not expect it to be lush and lavish, it's just a regular old Deli, they have seats for eating and the guy is always cleaning the tables, what's most important and stands out to me is friendly service, good price and decent food for breakfast. read more

Here's what you can get for $5.41: Two eggs, two pieces of toast with butter and jelly, home fries, and a large coffee. And no, they don't just throw some butter and jelly packets at you, they put it on there for you. Just a little nice touch that I appreciate. Eggs are cooked well and you can ask for cheese on there as well. Home fries are unique - sliced potatoes instead of cubed - and definitely satisfy the greasy salty craving that often comes along with breakfast. Breakfast is served all day. I can't speak on the other items on the menu, but was very happy with this meal. I've gotten it three times and the quality is consistent. Lastly, the staff is so sweet! They give you as much time as you need to order, I heard them being super nice to another woman about an addition she requested, and when I asked about breakfast all day, the man said: "Sure! For a little neighborhood deli, this place was tops. I tried a bit of the pork roll and burrito and both were savory with really tasty melty cheese. My burger was just perfect. It was on par, I'd say, with a 5 Guys or similar place, but with a little more care put into it. Freshly fried onion rings and the tangy BBQ sauce stepped it up a notch. I've only ever come here for breakfast. And when I say that, I mean I grab a breakfast sandwich and coffee and run out the door as fast as I can so I can get to my office down the block. Based on my particular needs, then, I think this place is awesome! Their breakfast foods are made fresh to order. I usually get bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, which is really hot and melty and gooey and delicious by the time I unwrap it at my desk. The prices are definitely reasonable -- about what you would pay at McDonald's but the food is way, way tastier. Coffee comes with a sandwich. I love the coffee here! It is the Georgia brand, and it is some of the best I have ever tasted. I've never been here for lunch but they do have a number of different sandwiches on their menu. I'll have to try them some day. The staff is quick and efficient, and I prize that much more highly than loquaciousness! This place is definitely a solid Center City breakfast option. read more

Love this place! Was turned on by a friend and so far they haven't let me down! I am now a regular and they always greet me by name. My food is always neatly made, NEVER messy!
