Their food is classic! My family go to whenever we want home cooked breakfast on the go. The family that runs this is second generation in the area and everything is cooked with love. Prices are fair and they serve you as if you are eating in their home. My son always asks for egg and cheese from here. Their rolls are always fresh and the warm corn bread is always on point! Different cheesesteak #1039 in the last four years. It was Tuesday. Drinks and Cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. I thought Happ's was a bar. My bad. We got the small cheesesteak. It was small. They didn't have any change so they charged me $5. I think it is normally $6.50. It was good. If I lived in fishtown I could see eating there again. We ended up at Marriott Courtyard at the Navy Yard. That is one of my new favorite places to eat a cheesesteak. Jason Kelce waved to me. read more

Great for a quick quality bite. I had the hot sausage egg and cheese on a long roll. Ready in a jiffy and they had a couple chairs for patrons to sit and get out of the cold if they didn't want to wait to enjoy their food when they got home. I've lived in fishtown for over 2 years now and have walked past Happ's almost every day and have always wanted to try it and yesterday was finally the day. I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was so great I couldn't stop thinking about it. So much so that I went and got another one today. The croissant is so flaky and perfectly buttery and they melt cheese between the eggs - it's absolutely delicious. The staff is so extremely kind and it's a very clean establishment. This is a solid spot for a sandwich. For me you can always taste the quality of food within an establishment if you order something with steak. I keep coming back for steak egg and cheese in the morning. The prices are Abit above average but I'm sure it's based on the location as well as the quality of the food. It's a perfect spot. No kidding. Years ago it was a few blocks away. It's in new digs. Modem but old school. A few tables and a very limited menu but it's sublime. Just sandwiches and not that many of those. Breakfast sandwich is crazy good. Had a steak egg and cheese. It was huge and perfectly made. Friend had ham egg and cheese on a croissant. But the quality of the food has not changed , this place should be at 5 star... Been going to Happ's for years. I remember his parents running things and cooking everything back in the day. Great people and a great quick sandwich shop. Always friendly and very customer oriented. As soon as they see me coming in they already know what I get. Hot sausage with American cheese, fried onions and crushed red pepper . I always top it off with hot chips. We asked for a hot sausage hoagie on their menu and their version of the sandwich is 4 grilled hotdogs with hot sauce. WTF (?) We also asked for no cheese and no banana peppers. They gave us both cheese and banana peppers. Also had electrical tape covering all the prices. Something ain't right with this place.
