Modern Plumbing Supply

Modern Plumbing Supply

Modern Plumbing (Berlin) associate in Parts department doesn't wear COVID-19 face mask. And, the…read moreparts pricing is outrageously high. I needed an HVAC part for my boiler, and went to their parts department. The customers in the area were all wearing COVID masks, but the associate behind the desk did not wear any mask. This is Feb 2021, when the pandemic infection rates are staggeringly high. Since I had no heat, it was Saturday afternoon, and a snowstorm was coming in, I really needed to get that part. It cost $330; whereas it was $208 at the normal place I shop (unavailable Sat). Although I knew in advance I would be paying a premium at Modern Plumbing - at least they should follow the pandemic protocols and have the associate wear a COVID mask.

We remodeled our bathroom and purchased all our fixtures from Modern. We purchased all higher end…read moreitems as we wanted quality products. We ended up with poor quality and higher plumbing bills instead. The $700 Toto toilet refused to stop running and pulsing the water so the house shook. Modern gave us a new flow valve to replace this first one and this one did not work either. The plumber replaced it with a home depot valve and it worked..2 extra visits from the plumber for this. The vanity had blemishes on in the wood that marred the front of the cabinet. We called and emailed and they said they would work on it. The day prior to the plumber coming to install it we still had not heard from Modern so we called and they said to go ahead and have the plumber install it and that they would replace the door with the marred wood. It has been 2 months now and no door and no response. The expensive faucet for the sink had a plastic nut to hold the drain on the bottom of the sink. This broke when the plumber installed it and leaked all over the new vanity and flooring. Modern gave me a replacement nut, also plastic. Again the plumber had to come back. To add insult to injury the stopper for the drain does not stop the water from flowing out when engaged. I changed the top of the drain plug with the replacement Modern gave me and it still does not stop the water from draining out. The shower fixtures were also high end and the shower head is made of plastic and the water dribbles out regardless of the setting. I replaced it with a cheap home depot head and the pressure and flow are fantastic. We spend $4,000 on fixtures at Modern for a small bathroom and the plumber costs us over $2,000 extra for the multiple visits that the shoddy quality caused..and we still have a blemished vanity in our brand new bathroom. I would tell each and everyone of you to stay away from Modern unless you want to pay a premium for poor quality and poor service.

Great experience from start to finish. The sweet young lady…read morethat took the call was very informative and efficient. They put in a service call for next morning. ( non emergency) . The gentleman who showed up ( on time) was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was later joined by another employee who was just as nice and they got the job done quickly without fuss and made sure they didn't leave a mess. Gave us some tips so we wouldn't have the same problem again hopefully. Came recommended and I would pass along that recommendation.

Disappointing Experience: Overpriced…read more I recently hired JMB to install a faucet and a garbage disposal in my condo. The recommendation came from the contractor who handled my countertop and backsplash installation, so I trusted their judgment. Unfortunately, my experience with JMB left much to be desired. The installation itself was carried out by an apprentice and another worker, who spent around 45 minutes completing the job. Everything seemed to be in working order, so I didn't anticipate any issues until I received the bill. To my shock, I was charged a whopping $1229 for what should have been a routine installation. When I reached out to JMB to address my concerns, I was met with a series of dismissive responses: Missing Quote: They claimed to have sent me a quote, which I never received. Lack of Communication: They deflected responsibility onto the contractor who recommended them, despite my assumption that pricing would be fair and reasonable. Unjustifiable Pricing: Their insistence on charging a flat rate without considering labor costs left me feeling taken advantage of, especially when other plumbers confirmed that the job should have cost significantly less. Unresponsive Owner: In my business, I would be speaking to the customer about a situation like this - never heard a word In an attempt to rectify the situation, JMB offered me a mere $100 credit toward future services, which did little to address my dissatisfaction. Ultimately, my trust in JMB was misplaced, and I regret not seeking multiple quotes before proceeding with the installation. I've since learned that this company bids on services through our town municipality, and I'll be sharing my experience with the superintendent of facilities for further review. In conclusion, while I can't dictate others' choices, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with JMB as a cautionary tale. Proceed with caution and consider exploring other options before entrusting them with your plumbing needs. Note: I anticipate an answer claiming the cost of the 3/4 Horsepower Insinkerator with 7 year warranty was much higher than the ones I found on line and calling plumbing supply companies ($220) - My math shows that even if the disposal was marked up 100% the labor is still over $800/hour

Within the first 6 months one of the shelves in our large cabinet developed a bend in the middle. We have two large quiet close drawers or whatever they're called. One developed an annoying squeak/grinding noise and now doesn't close all the way anymore. The other drawer has developed the squeak and I expect it to stop working soon WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

We had a contractor to help us with our "unexpected costs," apparently was left in the notes in the profile after a new salesperson reached out to me. But it was not unexpected, as we had our own contractor to do the work before Wren "installed" the kitchen. We really anticipated "Wren Kitchen" could install a simple sink properly (with plumbing) or in this case, a grandiose sink $$$. Unless the installation policies have changed, we will not be seeking Wren now nor in the future. The total turn off for us was when the manager and him both told us that we'd have to hire a contractor or pay them extra money to install a sink fitted to the existing plumbing, that just doesn't make sense to me as Wren is a kitchen installer and every kitchen has a sink.... Also we were told we'd have to pay an extra fee to hire a contractor from Wren to plug in the stove and fridge into the existing power outlets and plumbing. How can a company install a kitchen "apparently," but not plug in a range and fridge? Don't even get me started on the sink, what kitchen doesn't have a sink? I surely hope Wren Kitchen outside of HD is different, prove me wrong.
