Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy on this occasion, so enjoying their sprawling outdoor area was out of the question. Instead, we grabbed some drinks from the bar and took them over to one of their worn-in leather couches. My first cocktail was the Jalapeno Margarita with its inclusion of blood orange puree. I liked it well enough, but it had a lot of orange flavor, which I was not super into. I preferred my companion's Smoke Signals, which was like a spicy mezcal margarita with pineapple. Secondly, I had their Hot Apple Cider spiked with mezcal, which I enjoyed more, despite (or, rather, in spite of) it being super boozy. From the log cabin-ish vibe to the friendly staff and excellent cocktails, Early Terrible is a creative lounge worth exploring.

The interior bar is cool too - intimate, lodgey - with more of a party atmosphere at night. The staff all seem arty, bohemian and hip. On Fri-Sun, you can order wood-fired pizza from the Mud Club next door (same owner). We had a sausage and shiitake pie and it did not disappoint! The bar nibbles are otherwise quite light and limited, so come prepared to drink and dance but not stuff your face, unless you come on pizza days. Would I be a regular if I were local? Almost certainly yes!

This was a fun venue, definitely outdated on the inside. But a nice apres ski spot as there is…read moreoften live music. Space Bacon was playing when I came here and tickets were very reasonably priced. There is also ample parking here. The inside has a large bar and tables and a repurposed fire pit to sit at. There is an old run down ski ball and basketball machine which would really be fun to use if they were functioning. There is food here mostly hot dogs, fries, and late night bar food at higher prices as well.

    - #TBT REVIEW -…read more Three years ago, as part of a long weekend ski vacation, we visited here with tickets in hand for RUSTED ROOT! Yup, a bar/club that usually sees the likes of smaller cover bands and local DJs managed to lock down Rusted Root! Not only that, but our $25 general admission tickets got us as close as 5 feet away from the stage of this cozy venue. Despite the sellout crowd (thank goodness we bought in advance), the bar wasn't overly packed. We were able to snag reasonably-priced drinks throughout the night and groove back to the dance floor for the three hours they were on stage. Bartenders were overwhelmed but friendly, and drink prices ($5-8) weren't overly "taxed." If you're staying at either the Snow Lake Lodge or the Lodge at Mount Snow, Snow Barn is just a short walk away. If staying elsewhere, you can catch the free MOOver (http://www.moover.com) shuttle, but be warned that their service stops at 5pm. From reading the recent negative reviews, it's a shame to hear that Snow Barn has perhaps gone downhill from the times we visited. Again, we went for the concert, so if you're in the same camp, I'd suggest you check the music calendar (http://mountsnow.com/livemusic) and plan your visit accordingly. At the very least, you can always enjoy a bit of history...The Snow Barn used to be Reuben Snow's barn, who owned the base-area land. After the land was purchased by Walt Schoenknecht in the 50s, it was converted into a ski lodge before being once again converted into the bar/club it is today.

But it was also dead quiet at 4pm on a Saturday, which was ok by me. I had a tuna dish for dinner (see photos) that was pretty tasty. I asked the bartender for a food recommendation and that's what he suggested. He was right. It was good and I'm glad I got something tasty and healthy. Would for sure go back.

Beautiful architecture, dating back hundreds of years. We were impressed by the People's Pub. Pool and darts on the second floor, and bar and dining area on the first. We spent a good amount of time admiring the wood work around the bar and restaurant, as well as the tin ceilings. We ordered more food that we probably should have, but it all sounded so good, that with the winter menu coming to a close, we knew we would likely not have a chance to order it again. We chose to sit at the bar, and enjoyed a whiskey and pisco sours, made with actual eggs. The open kitchen is a nice touch, and it was nice to see the well staffed restaurant handle the Friday night dinner crowd. Portions for most dishes were a generous size, and we enjoyed the variety of choices. We can't wait to come back to try the spring menu, or to come on one of the special nights, such as the live Irish music.
