Inside is super cool and funky with lots of eclectic decor and good music being played. We were seated outside immediately and placed orders for wine, beer, oysters on the half shell and bruschetta. The drinks were good and they kept them coming. They have a great drink menu selection! The oysters were juicy and delicious. Unfortunately, the waiter forgot to bring our bruschetta, so I can't speak on that, but from what we saw being served around us, everything looked really tasty and well made. Plenty of bathrooms inside and a large bar inside as well. Can't wait to come back for another brunch!

The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. They ask what you like and don't like, then craft a cocktail specifically for you. The pours are generous and the bar is stocked with top-shelf liquor. It just so happened that it was a short walk from my hotel, so we decided to check it out one night before heading to dinner. The Cloakroom is a speakeasy, nestled behind a hidden door in a men's clothing shop. In the line of being a speakeasy, the space is small - there are only 24 seats but since we got there right at opening we were seated right away. The space is dark and intimate, with the bottles of liquor lit up behind the bar providing an attractive focal point. One of the more unique features of the bar is that there's no menu; we told our server the types of liquors we wanted along with the flavor notes and they crafted a cocktail based on our tastes. We ultimately had two rounds; my first drink was vodka-based and fruity, while I went with something gin-based and dryer. Both were very good - there's little fanfare with presentation; the bartenders let the drinks speak for themselves. Service was great; due to the setup, each patron is given extra attention which really highlighted the experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at The Cloakroom Bar. This was definitely a unique experience with excellent curated drinks. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Montreal.

I would recommend visiting this place ONLY if you buy a bottled product (like a beer or a wine) where you don't have to rely on someone adding alcohol to your drink.
