After signing, we were informed that the move-in would instead occur immediately, with the rent prorated into the following month. That change had not been discussed or authorized by us. During our subsequent review, we also realized the arrangement was a sublease and that we had not received written confirmation regarding the underlying landlord's authorization for the proposed use or whether the intended use was permitted under applicable city requirements. The communication surrounding payment also became uncomfortable very quickly while our internal review was still taking place. In the subsequent response, several of my own statements were repeated back to me in a way that I felt was unnecessary rather than addressing the underlying concerns. We ultimately withdrew before making payment or taking possession, and the company did confirm that our withdrawal was processed. I wish them well, but based on my experience, I would recommend that prospective tenants conduct thorough due diligence and get all necessary approvals and terms confirmed in writing before signing or making any payment.
