Knife chart shows all the parts, blade types etc.

Came in last Saturday morning and met George who worked there and asked if he could help me. I asked him to point me in the direction of the knives and he did and said he would be right over. George was so enthusiastic that we were buying knives and helped us select one that was right for us and we needed his help because we've never bought a pocket knife before. We were buying knives because we took a 4 hour survival skills class in Pasadena the weekend before and were told everyone needs to have a good knife on them. One of my superintendents at work told me to get a knife from military surplus with a compass on the top and that comes with a stone for sharpening the knife. Unfortunately they didn't carry the compass knife but I was able to get a good one for under $30. I have to mention that we learned more from George in 20 minutes than we did in 4 hours at the survival skills class. He's very knowledgeable about knives, outdoor survival and camping gear. Honestly, we were 3 ladies and it's intimidating just walking into a military surplus store, but George made us feel really comfortable and he was really fun to talk to/learn from about knives and survival skills. He let us know we have to get really comfortable with using our knife like it's an extra limb that way we don't freeze up in case of emergency. We told him he needs to teach a class on this and have his own line of knives. I ended up getting a Marine brand knife, a sharpening stone and a whistle with a compass and a flint on it and it was worth it.

My 14 year old son recently asked me to take him to an Army surplus store, and I had to admit to him that the two I knew about had closed along time ago. When I was a kid, my grandfather, who retired from the Navy used to take us down to the Navy store in Long Beach, but I had also not been there in 20 years, and I don't think I could get in anyway, even if it's still there. Good old yelp to the rescue, I found M & I Surplus, read a couple of reviews, and headed out to the truck with my kid. We arrive to a building that was larger than I had expected it to be, painted taxi cab yellow from stem to stern. Just inside the door, I could tell that this was a combination of military surplus, along with some survival and camping gear. With the Covid fear waning, they seem to be blowing out some big things like 55 gallon water barrels, and some other items for survival. A full section of wool socks, and hats, a display of leather belts, MREs, jackets, hi-vis and camo gear, rope, camp stoves... there is a lot of stuff in here! Particularly Cool was a little offshoot on the north side of the store, that had some vintage military gear, and other items. Near the back of the store, there were several military uniforms, hanging on the racks, I learned later that some of these ostensibly were donated by individuals, who served previously, retired, or brought here by their next of kin. This is a very well organized shop, with just about everything you would probably ever want to find at a military surplus store. For my part, I have been back twice for some cold-weather gear, and a couple of items for our trailer - found what I needed both times. Definitely worth checking out. Oh, my kid found a cool canteen, and a couple of other items that he did not need but I suppose he wanted. Spend it on the ones you love, right?

On 01/04/2026, I attempted to contact the company through their website and received no response. After waiting several more days, I followed up via email and still heard nothing. At that point, it had been 21 days since placing the order with zero updates, and I had no way of knowing if or when my order would ship. Due to the lack of communication, I filed a chargeback through my bank. Only after the chargeback was filed did I finally receive a response. While the explanation involved shipping delays, the response that followed was unprofessional and hostile, blaming me for disputing the charge rather than acknowledging the lack of communication that led to it. The tone of that email was completely inappropriate for customer service. I understand delays happen, especially with small businesses, but leaving customers in the dark and then responding rudely when they protect themselves financially is unacceptable. Clear updates and professional communication would have prevented this situation entirely. Based on the lack of communication and the rude response I received, I would not recommend doing business with GTFOverland.

Their…read moreselection for that category was a little limited but honestly it did not matter because Brian completely made the experience. From the start he was super approachable easy to talk to and very non judgmental which I really appreciated especially since I personally know nothing about airsoft guns. Brian took the time to walk us through the models my boyfriend was interested in and even checked which other stores had certain ones in stock when his own store did not. There was zero pressure to buy something that was not the right fit. He explained how different pistols and revolvers work including loading unloading and general handling in a way that was clear and not overwhelming. I never felt talked down to or brushed off even though I was very clearly not the knowledgeable one in the room. Overall Brian was just genuinely helpful and patient and made what could have been an intimidating experience feel easy and comfortable.

Field Experience Review - September 28,2025…read more On September 28, I visited the field and brought along seven friends. For majority of us, it was our first time, and overall, we had an amazing experience, some more than others. One of the referees stood out in particular -- the skater with blonde hair and a great vibe. He clearly loves his job and is extremely knowledgeable about guns and gear. He was very engaged with every player, explaining game modes thoroughly and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. His professionalism and enthusiasm set the tone for the day. Later, a different referee rotated in. I didn't catch his name, but he was a darker-skinned male. Compared to the first referee, he seemed less enthusiastic. At one point, one of my friends was denied entry because he wasn't wearing gloves. After being scanned in, he quickly went back to grab his gloves, but when he returned, the gate had already been locked. He asked another staff member at the chrono station for help, who radioed the referee in the field. The response over the radio was dismissive and unprofessional ("F*** him, he can wait after"), and the game proceeded without allowing my friend back in. This situation left my friend upset, but thankfully, the front receptionist -- the gentleman with the mustache -- handled the matter professionally and apologized on behalf of the staff. We also visited the store and had questions about certain items. When we compared prices with Evike's website, we noticed discrepancies. When we asked about price matching, the staff told us, "We don't price match." This was disappointing, as it seemed unusual for Evike not to match its own website. Ultimately, we decided not to purchase in-store and instead ordered online. On a more positive note, we ordered food during our visit and were very impressed. The service and food were excellent -- the woman behind the bar was incredibly helpful and friendly. I ordered chicken tenders and fries, and both the portion size and taste exceeded expectations. Definitely a highlight of the day. At the end of the day, we noticed an issue with our barcodes: half of our group still had time left while the other half did not. Once again, the receptionist with the mustache stepped in and extended our time so we could finish together as a group. This was a small but very meaningful gesture, and we greatly appreciated his kindness and professionalism. Overall Ratings: * Field: 8/10 * Store: 6/10 * Restaurant: 9/10

I had absolutely no clue as to what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to see the inside of this massive space that was maximized to the T with racks and walls stocked with merchandise. Extra wide shoes - np! Size 14, 13 & women's shoes - yes!! Nice selection. Golf shirts in brilliant colors and styles and up to a 2X - hole in one! Shorts for all in every style and color - Si! Plenty of comfortable seats and try on stations all over the floor- nice!!! No stress take your time shopping with everything spread out- indeed!! All these at fantastic prices!! ( receipt photo). My hats off to cashier Tracie who was so patient and kind. She opened a Dick's account for me and was absolutely thorough, professional and efficient. The folks in front of me had 2 carts full of shoes; I am guessing at least 36 pairs that they picked up. The great thing - there were 2 employees on the floor bringing out more shoes from the back and sticking. Loved it! It is always a beautiful thing to get 2 pairs of new kicks and a nice golf shirt for $55. Christmas cometh early for Ray Ray!!
