Dale pointed out a few other items that need to be fixed and never tried to run me up since he said they were non-critical items.

Eagle was aware that it should have arrived, and the shop owner took the initiative to call me to check on the status before closing shop. Thankfully Eagle has a key drop, so the tow arriving after hours was fine. They must have looked my car over immediately the next day, because diagnostics were done quickly and I got a call early that morning. They kept me in the loop about the repair, explained what they were doing and why, answered the phone consistently to answer follow up questions I had, and went even more into detail about the repair when I arrived and asked additional questions about the mechanics of it. Just like a doctor who answers your questions, a mechanic who does the same helps put you at ease. It wasn't cheap (& what transmission work is?), but it was incredibly fast and I had my car back and repaired the same day diagnostics were run. Plus, the parts & labor came with a 1-year/12,000 mile warranty.

I brought my 2011 Ranger in, they were able to diagnose a substantial fluid leak and gave a very reasonable estimate. Not the "you need a new transmission" estimate that I was expecting. There are mechanics... and then there are the tired saints standing at the edge of civilization…read moreholding together the fragile emotional ecosystem known as "people who need their car to start tomorrow." Buddha's Garage is the second one. Dave has the energy of a man who has looked directly into the screaming mechanical abyss of humanity and simply sighed, grabbed a wrench, and fixed it anyway. I swear half the vehicles in that shop arrive after being spiritually wounded somewhere else. Other mechanics will look at your engine like medieval doctors diagnosing ghosts. Dave looks at it once, tilts his head slightly like a jazz musician hearing a wrong note, and suddenly knows your alternator was installed backwards by somebody named Tyler in 2019. And here's the wild part: he's honest. Like deeply, suspiciously honest. The kind of honest that makes you uncomfortable because you forgot businesses could still operate without trying to sell you seventeen imaginary emergencies. Dave will straight up tell you cheaper alternatives, better options, things you can wait on, things you DON'T need. I almost wanted to ask him if he understood capitalism. The customer service feels less like a business and more like your truck wandered into a monastery where everyone took vows of kindness and diagnostic accuracy. Meanwhile other shops are out here playing roulette with socket sets: "Hmmm yes, perhaps your issue is... all of the parts." Then Buddha's Garage fixes it in an afternoon and somehow charges you like they still believe in human dignity. Also -- Dave knows an absolutely terrifying amount about vehicles. Not "guy who watches YouTube tutorials" knowledge. I mean ancient-library-hidden-under-the-desert knowledge. The kind where you start explaining the noise your car makes and he already knows the answer before you finish making the sound effect. At this point I'd trust Buddha's Garage with anything mechanical. My car. My lawn mower. A damaged submarine. If NASA called and said a shuttle was making a weird clicking noise, I'd probably hand them Dave's number. I'm going there no matter what. If I move across the state, I'll crawl back on flaming rims like a pilgrim returning to holy ground.

A warm and friendly greeting was my first impression by the office manager. Amazing service from start to finish. Thorough communication from the technician and owner about the processes and service rendered. Transparency on all prices quoted over the phone and during checkout. Where can I rate them higher than 5?…read more I've been going to these folks for quite a few years now and can't say enough GOOD things about them and their service. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler which is getting increasingly difficult to find proper parts for, even from the dealerships. Recently my jeep had a e-brake issue. Mark hunted everywhere (from the mouth of an associate of his, not himself) for days. When he found "the" part on-line, it was ordered and received only NOT to be "the" part at all. During my time-without-car, I used a loaner from CB..."take it on the toll roads, wherever you need to go. Call us if you have any problems." Then came an "ah-ha" moment, someone at the shop came up with an out-of-the-box solution. It required an additional part, but, the very next day, my dear Jeep was ready to go, back on the road and as good as new. Probably better. They apologized repeatedly for taking such a long time with the repair and thanked me for my patience. Meanwhile I was driving around in their car. These are all GREAT, KIND craftspersons who know what they're doing under the hood and all around the innards of a car. I give them my highest recommendation, and I'm really picky!

Two recent service appointments stand out for me: The first was when an employee tracked mud all over my floor mats during a routine oil change. I keep my car clean and this was just rude. Very hard to clean out. We brought it to their attention and they offered us a free oil change. The second issue was when an inspection revealed an issue with my gas cap. There was no attempt to offer to order this for us or go above and beyond, just a failed inspection notice. It's just a huge contrast to the way this company earned our loyalty when we first moved to Pflugerville. Perhaps times have changed and it's harder to attract and retain good employees. Unfortunately that will trickle down to not retaining good customers, too.
