Car repair is never going to be cheap, so while the cost was more than I would have liked, I'm hopeful the fix will hold up. I brought in my 2008 Prius because of a grinding noise at higher speeds, and they diagnosed a bad wheel bearing. They explained the issue clearly before starting and had it fixed within a few hours. The estimate matched the final price, no surprise fees, and the staff was professional without being pushy. The car has been running smoothly since the repair, and the noise is completely gone. Just a heads-up: get there right when they open to minimize your wait time. The waiting room is far from deluxe, basic chairs and a coffee maker, but it's clean enough. The free soda they used to have seems to be gone, unfortunately. Overall, I'd recommend them if you're looking for honest service and solid work, and you don't mind skipping the fancy extras.

These guys are great! I had to get my car inspected and was pretty nervous walking in that they would be like any other garage that would "find" something that has to be fixed before they would pass me but there was no issue at all. They had me in and out in 20 minutes and they were reasonably price. i will definitely be back.

Waiting room is always kept neat and plenty of drinks while you wait.

Austin Auto Techs continue to provide great service! I recently came in for a minor emergency repair and Allen kept me informed during the whole process with time frames and options. It's really nice knowing we have good trustworthy mechanics we can rely on for any vehicle issues. I definitely recommend these guys 10/10. (I drove I 35 during rush hour, that's how much I like these guys!)

It's hard to find a shop that will communicate as well as these guys. They listen to you and give an honest assessment.

When I arrived at 6 PM, right at closing, Mark still took the time to explain the issue and how it was fixed. Thank you for your excellent service! I'll be recommending you to everyone. And who among us has not felt they were taken advantage of when the bill arrives? Yup, unless you're mechanically inclined, it can be tough to know if the repairs are legitimate. After getting suspiciously high repair estimate from my friendly local dealer (whose name I won't mention to protect the guilty), I looked for a second opinion and found All Tune on Yelp. They were busy but were able to get me into the shop a week later. Well, it took all of 15 minutes to determine that I didn't need any of the recommended repairs. All Tune took the time to show me the parts in question and treated me respectfully. They also looked up my service schedule and let me know when I would really need to perform maintenance. Even more, they didn't charge me for their time. I'll be bringing my car back to All Tune when I need service. These guys are the real deal, the bomb. Thank you All Tune! Highly highly recommended.

Once I was moving, I only made it down the street before all power failed in my car and I had to coast to a stop. It is to my great luck and joy that I coasted to a stop in the parking lot of Oak Knoll Automotive. When I walked in, I was greeted by Bobby, who spoke to me like I was his friend and communicated clearly what he thought the issue might be, how long it would take and approximate cost. There were techs buzzing around the bays hard at work, so instead of making me wait forever, Bobby went out and took a look at my car himself and got it into the garage out of the 100+ heat. I ended up spending a couple hours in the waiting room (which was thoughtfully decorated and had plenty to read or watch) before Bobby told me they needed to keep the car overnight. This morning, I got a call from Bobby first thing where he told me the plan for the day and when I should expect to hear back from him. Like clockwork, he called me back to let me know my car was ready and gave me a price breakdown of the repair work done. All-in-all, this place was wildly helpful, communicated clearly about the work done, and priced fairly. Going into an auto shop as a woman by yourself can be intimidating, but this shop defies that expectation and rises to make for a terrific experience for all. I would recommend this place to my friends and family any day!

My car had died, and based on my understanding, I believed the battery was the issue. I had purchased the battery from this shop about a year ago and was told it had a 3-year warranty, so I came in expecting to have the battery replaced under warranty. Instead, I was told there was nothing wrong with my battery. The situation then turned into an issue with my alternator. I was initially quoted $1,500 for a new alternator, then $1,200, and eventually told Randy's "homeboy" could do it for $500 cash. I told him I didn't have $500, and he asked, "What do you have?" He eventually agreed to $200 cash. When I came back for clarification, I was told I was getting a brand-new alternator. However, when I returned, the same alternator was still on my car. I was then told that the positive wire on the alternator had been fixed and the alternator had been cleaned, and that was what the $200 was for. I was given a $0 receipt for the warranty battery, but no itemized receipt explaining the $200 cash charge. I left extremely confused and feeling like I had been misled about what work was actually being done. I don't know a lot about cars, but customers deserve honesty, clear communication, and documentation of what they are paying for. I personally feel like I was taken advantage of. Be aware of Randy and make sure you get everything in writing before paying for additional work.

Buddha's Garage is the second one. Dave has the energy of a man who has looked directly into the screaming mechanical abyss of humanity and simply sighed, grabbed a wrench, and fixed it anyway. I swear half the vehicles in that shop arrive after being spiritually wounded somewhere else. Other mechanics will look at your engine like medieval doctors diagnosing ghosts. Dave looks at it once, tilts his head slightly like a jazz musician hearing a wrong note, and suddenly knows your alternator was installed backwards by somebody named Tyler in 2019. And here's the wild part: he's honest. Like deeply, suspiciously honest. The kind of honest that makes you uncomfortable because you forgot businesses could still operate without trying to sell you seventeen imaginary emergencies. Dave will straight up tell you cheaper alternatives, better options, things you can wait on, things you DON'T need. I almost wanted to ask him if he understood capitalism. The customer service feels less like a business and more like your truck wandered into a monastery where everyone took vows of kindness and diagnostic accuracy. Meanwhile other shops are out here playing roulette with socket sets: "Hmmm yes, perhaps your issue is... all of the parts." Then Buddha's Garage fixes it in an afternoon and somehow charges you like they still believe in human dignity. Also -- Dave knows an absolutely terrifying amount about vehicles. Not "guy who watches YouTube tutorials" knowledge. I mean ancient-library-hidden-under-the-desert knowledge. The kind where you start explaining the noise your car makes and he already knows the answer before you finish making the sound effect. At this point I'd trust Buddha's Garage with anything mechanical. My car. My lawn mower. A damaged submarine. If NASA called and said a shuttle was making a weird clicking noise, I'd probably hand them Dave's number. I'm going there no matter what. If I move across the state, I'll crawl back on flaming rims like a pilgrim returning to holy ground.

The staff knows their stuff and, more importantly, knows what they don't do, what they won't do, and what is within and what is outside of their capabilities. Again, It's based on your mileage and your vehicle's maintenance schedule, not some random sales pitch. As soon as I arrived, a tall employee with long hair and a beard approached me and told me the oil change would cost around $109, but because of my car it would end up being about $165. I already thought that was expensive, but I needed the service done. His attitude was very rude from the beginning, and he told me to get out of my car and wait in the waiting room. I told him I was comfortable waiting inside my car while it was turned off. A younger employee and an older employee worked on my car, and the service took about 10 minutes. In the end, I paid $135 and left. While driving from Anderson Lane and Mopac toward Mopac and 71 during heavy 4 PM traffic, my car suddenly started acting strange. The engine sounded terrible, and the check engine light came on. I had to carefully pull into a parking lot for safety. At 4:33 PM, I immediately called the location and spoke with manager Ronald R. He said he would come check my car. I ended up waiting almost 2 hours until he finally arrived around 6:15 PM. When he inspected the car, he discovered the oil filter ring had been installed incorrectly. After fixing the filter, he then added approximately 5 liters of oil to my engine because it was dangerously low. This experience was completely unacceptable. An oil change is the main service this company provides, and despite having 3 employees working on my vehicle, they still made a serious mistake that could have damaged my engine or caused an accident in traffic. After fixing the issue, the manager simply said, "Everything is good now, thank you," and left. No apology, no accountability, and no concern for the inconvenience, stress, or potential damage caused. After reading the Yelp reviews for this location, I now understand why so many customers have had bad experiences here. I will not be returning.
