I've been a coming here for dry cleaning and have always been happy with their solid, reliable work. But this was my first time trusting them with alterations--and I'm blown away. I needed an evening dress hemmed before a wedding weekend, and it wasn't a simple job thanks to a tricky slit down the center. They absolutely nailed it. The hem was perfectly even, the slit was preserved beautifully, and the whole dress looked flawless. The price was very reasonable, but the turnaround was even better--fast without cutting corners. Staying int the city on Times Square and needed to get some clothes laundered. Hotel used a service that was crazy expensive (to be expected) so to Yelp we went. Found this place just a short walk from our hotel. They were very accommodating and was fairly priced, Clothes were ready on time. Only knock is the way the packaged our laundered clothes everything came our extremely wrinkled. Not a huge deal but still, please pay attention and bundle/wrap the clothes so they aren't wrinkled. read more

They were fast, affordable, reliable, and super sweet - seemed like they'd been there for generations. Called them after finding them on Yelp (and all their good reviews). I'd been traveling for 1.5 weeks and needed some laundry done, without the high prices from the hotel's service. M&M to the rescue. I called them around 7:00am and they said as long as I had my clothes there within the half hour, I could get same day service. I grabbed by laundry, stuffed the clothes into two of the plastic laundry bags at the hotel, and headed out. I got there on time, and handed everything over to them. They told me I would have by end of day, charged me $11.99 for 11 lbs of clothes, and sure enough, it was done by EOD - on a Saturday! The clothes were returned to me in a white garbage bag, tied securely, and folded perfectly. They were folded so well and compactly that I asked if they could come to my hotel to pack my suitcase. First time using them and they were just lovely. I needed to get my god mothers denim jacket washed (first time doing this since she died 15 years ago). I have always been too afraid to get it washed. The people at this dry cleaners were very reassuring and even gave me a call after leaving to double check with me about what I was wanting. When I first moved to NYC the first thing I did was find someone that could do my laundry as it was dead of winter and I have no washer/dryer. I came upon M&M and for awhile they were good. Then things went REALLY south. If you give them easy stuff like laundry with the note 'do whatever you want,' you'll be fine. If you have specific instructions or expect them to wash laundry like normal people would - forget it. It started out easy, basic laundry. Then we got into the hard stuff: my duvet and matching pillow cases. They were very light colored and gotten discolored quickly. Although nothing out of the ordinary. Sent them in and got them back IN THE SAME CONDITION, but I was about $35 poorer. I took before photos of one of the pillow covers then hand washed it myself and got it clean. After photos were clearly different. I was a little peeved. They gave me my money back because clearly they were not dry cleaned. Then I sent in some laundry with my two favorite t-shirts and also sent in a bottle of my favorite softener because theirs smelled really cheap. In return I got my two favorite shirts back and they were unwearable. I had also sent in a new shirt I'd gotten to be washed and it, too, came back too small. They also kept my softener and put their name on it (see photo) and I didn't see it again until I went in to fix a third (charmed) problem. They used my softener on MY laundry maybe five times (the bottle was 48 loads) and got it back almost empty. Uh. Sent in regular laundry, both color and white and got back a black dress (another favorite - why can't they ruin the stuff I don't care about?) that was almost new with bleach stains all over it. I was livid. They had washed white towels with bleach (thank you for at least doing that thing I asked), folded them a little damp and put this black dress between them. I know, right? When I said I wanted a new dress, not a dyed one (it was three months old) they said that I must have bleached it myself (never mind that they've been doing my laundry weekly for six months). Livid went warp speed to apoplectic. They said once they paid for my dress they didn't want my business anymore. Uh, yeah, no kidding. You weren't getting it. And I recommend you don't give it to them either. TLDR; bad dry cleaning, shrinks clothes, keeps products you send and uses it on everyone else, destroys black dress with bleach, accuses me of doing it read more

I have been using M&M Excellent Cleaners for almost 10 years. The price is the best in the area. I lived in a luxury building a block away and always called them to pick-up and deliver from the doormen. It is one of the best perks in living in luxury buildings. When I actually do step into their shop, it is because they do great alterations at what I assume to be great prices compared to what I hear from friends. M&M offers same day laundry service and almost 10lbs of laundry was done for less than $15, this was the cost of 1-2 items if we did it at the hotel. They were very accommodating to my request of using low heat since most of the clothes I brought required cold wash and low temp dry. Everything was nearly folded and baged so we could carry it back to the hotel. read more

I've been here numerous times to get my shirts and pants dry cleaned, and on a couple occasions, some sewing done. I love this place! A coworker recommended it, and I'm really happy with them. I'm a little neurotic about laundry, so I was really hesitant to send mine out. Then again, the laundry machines in my building are so expensive that sending it out is actually slightly cheaper! It's $0.80/lb, so it's not too bad, with a 7lb minimum. It's really convenient b/c they pick up and delivery for free. I usually leave my laundry with the doorman when I leave for work, I call M&M, and then my clean laundry is waiting for me when I get home in the evening. It's amazing!!! Also, they follow instructions and haven't lost/shrunk/destroyed anything. Sample instructions I have (and trust me, I can tell if they don't follow them.....) -wash whites, lights, darks, sheets, and towels separately -wash whites, sheets, and towels in hot water -fold my clothes facing up (somehow, they know exactly what I mean by that and they fold my clothes exactly how I want!!!) -use the dryer sheets I included Anyway, enough about how neurotic I am about laundry.. I can only speak of their wash and fold service, but this place is great. After doing my own laundry for a couple months since I've moved into the area, I decided to give this place a try. Ever since then, I haven't turned back! For $.80/lb you can't beat that rate around the area! I usually drop my clothes one morning, and they're ready the next. (They're usually done by the afternoon, but I never get out from work in time.) The only reason I can't give them five stars is because I've found a rogue sock and shirt in different batches, and I wonder what socks I may have lost. Other than that, nice work! read more

I've been using M&M for the two years or so they've been open (they used to be run by someone else) and I've been generally happy with their service. I primarily use their services for wash and fold and although I'm usually pleased with their services, at times I have not been. I've lost a few socks and gained others', in fact, I've gotten other people's underwear as well (pretty bad, in my opinion). But I would say in general, their services have been improving. My clothes actually smell like soap these days and surprisingly, my whites are beginning to resemble something like white (they were various shades of gray for years regardless of how much bleach I asked them to use). Plus M&M is most definitely affordable and even though I can't give them 5 stars (rogue underwear and all) I still highly recommend them. read more

Great place to take laundry in the area. Fast, friendly service, and you can't beat $.80/lb. When you consider you own time in a hot, usually creepy, self service laundry, the price gets even better. Get your laundry in in the morning, you can get it after work. They return your clothes sorted, folded, socks paired and all, and every load I have dropped off has come back great. Its run by a couple that speak Cantonese, and English. Its funny listening them talk to each other in Cantonese cuz I understand a little bit. This place is small. Sometimes the line is out the door, because no more than 3 people can stand inside. There are also tons of laundry bags around because they do laundry too. We used M&M for our dry cleaning and wash and fold for several years, and if we hadn't moved to a place with a washer and dryer (and room for a real ironing board), I'd miss them. They're cheap, fast, and friendly. Many times, they'd have laundry done ahead of schedule. They remembered that we didn't want anything scented and didn't want fabric softener used. I even had several buttons and zippers replaced or repaired, and they did a fantastic job for much less than half the price of other places. They did lose one of my favourite sweaters, though I mainly have a grudge against whoever received it in their laundry. Out of ten bags of laundry done, we'd have one or two with items of clothing from other customers. We'd simply bring it back and hope for the best. Sometimes the clothes would smell like a fishy meal, but they'd actually rewash for free if we complained. Oh, and if you go often, they'll ignore their $10 minimum credit card policy. read more

This place was run great for some many years by a nice older woman. Her brother took over a few years ago and he can't handle the job. Clothes are constantly being ruined or coming back dirty. My white undershirts become grey from them washing them. I have used them for about 13 years. Needless to say, I can't trust them anymore. They have increased there prices a bunch of times. They say only one time but it used to be $1.50 to dry clean a shirt. Now they change $2.50. The buttons on the shirts are constantly broken. The delivery guys are good people but the boss at the place isn't a good man. read more

I've seen better laundering. My shirts came back "ok" at best...they were pressed but not as well as they should have been. At $2 a shirt, I want no wrinkles and clean edges. The pants were also just "ok". They weren't really ironed/pressed that well...there are still creases in odd places all over the leg. I did ask for no crease down the middle and they at least followed that request. I probably wouldn't go back here to get my shirts or pants done. From the other reviews they apparently have great laundering of other clothes...but it's just not worth it to try again. read more
