After buying my dress at The White Gown (which was great), I was introduced to Natasha to tailor my dress. Natasha altered it well, and it fit before I left the store - however, upon getting to my wedding and hanging up my dress, we realized the inner most layer of fabric still had about 10 safety pins in it and the hem was never finished. I was constantly stepping on the innermost layer. Also, she had told me she would add to the bustle on the dress to be more secure, which was not done. The bustle broke off the dress, and the back of the dress ended up having to be safety pinned in order for me to dance during the evening. If not for having very crafty friends and family, the poor job Natasha did would have really affected the evening. If given Natasha as a seamstress, ensure everything you've asked for is 100% completed before leaving. read more

The 1st time I booked Natasha was for a bridesmaid dress alteration that I needed to have done last minute, aka 1.5 days before a wedding (long story) - I was worried this would not be possible (even in NYC, or at least without committing your first born) and then I found Natasha. On the phone, she was so pleasant and didn't mind the tight deadline in the slightest! I was thrilled and already put at ease that I found her and I didn't even know yet how amazing she is. All I needed was a slight hem on the length but the dress had many layers and it came out PERFECTLY! Of course I went back to Natasha and have quickly become a loyal customer. Next up was my cousins wedding, with a bridesmaid outfit that had a crop top and long skirt, both of which fit me SO poorly - no shape to the top and a skirt that hung too low (literally looked like box). This she fixed with such precision (that unfortunately others in the bridal party didn't have) and it looked like the piece was made for me - the bodice was taken in and the skirt taken in and hemmed (had "tulip"y layers)- AGAIN it was PERFECT!!! see pic attached, note not wearing shoes yet). First, I have to say Natasha was flexible, nice and did a great job with the hemming of my bridesmaid dress. She had to take about 4+ inches off and was 2 layers but to my knowledge, fairly simple. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the price and lack of clarity on her website. She has a section for brides that does state $50/layer however her link to bridesmaids doesn't work. I assumed (which maybe was my fault) that it would be less. After the shock of the price to alter, $100 total, she kept telling me it was NY prices. She did the work in a few days time however I called to ask if they had plastic garment bag to cover the dress since it had been raining. Completely Ruined multiple garments I gave her to do, I took the garments to other tailors and they laughed at the quality of work. On top of that Natasha didn't offer to redo them correctly. I finally got my dress today and I went five times for fitting! She told me the fitting takes three times in the first meeting. The third time I went she hasn't sewn the seam and did the bustle. She told me I need to go one more time. So at the third time fitting I told her the belly and the back is too tight and needs to be released by showing her the photos and calling her to explain bc she didn't respond my email. The forth time I went she did the back only and didn't do the belly. So disappointing. She should have done both. But I still paid her the balance. Before I asked her if I can pay with credit card she said ok. When I was going to pay the balance she was going charging me $9 more without informing me at all. I caught by myself when I saw her hitting the pad. I told her if you could have told me earlier I would pay you cash. She told me it's ok she will waive it but let me know the company will still charge her $9. So I went the last time today and I feel the belly is better tho I can still see creases there but I don't really want to battle this so I took the dress back. Her charge was a bit high. The service was below average. I will not recommend her. read more
