Update: 09/10/2024: I see that my review was marked "Not Recommended". I'm extremely disappointed with Yelp. Turned out it is so easy for shady business owners to get rid of unfavorable reviews that I will never be able trust Yelp again. Yelp doesn't provide an option to complain about "Not Recommended" designation or speak with someone. It is not worth my time to fight this. Original review: Me and my wife had a misfortune of hiring M&M movers two years ago. They overcharged us three times the agreed amount. When my wife posted a one-star review describing our experience the owner (Massimo Ferrari) harassed her on her cell phone until she deleted the review. We agreed that after we move out, she'd post her review again to warn others of our experience and of the owner's unacceptable behavior. She posted a new one-star review from a throwaway account recently, which was deleted by Yelp after the owner reported her for using a throwaway account. Turns out it is illegal by Yelp standards to hide one's identity from someone who harasses you before. I hope it is not illegal by Yelp's standards for a husband to share a joint experience with his wife. Me and my wife were given an estimate of $800. M&M movers came on time. There were three of them and they started working really slowly. Only one guy was wrapping furniture while others were standing at the truck and looking at their phones. We were not worried because we had very little furniture and the rest of the household was already packed by us. We assumed they just need to waste a couple of hours to meet quota, so we let them slack. After 6 hours of slacking, they gave us a bill of about $2500. Three times the agreed price. They thought we were rich and wouldn't notice. $700 were for "packing materials". Most of this sum was for about 15 furniture blankets they used to wrap our furniture. They told us we now own these blankets, but they'd take them off out hands to recycle if we don't need them after the move. We were moving out of one place and into the other with them. This was ridiculous. Even U-Haul rents you the blankets, but M&M movers make you buy them. They did not inform us in advance about having to supply our own blankets. On top of everything the blankets were old, dirty, torn, and full of holes. The price the listed was more than the new ones on Amazon. It was clear this is a standard scam they run. My wife wanted to make a scene, but I told her that they have all our stuff in the truck now, and if we make them unhappy who knows what they'd do to it. We paid. When we arrived at the final destination, we did not let any of the movers out or our sight, and not surprisingly it took them less than an hour to unload and unpack. The house we moved out of had an elevator, the house we moved in did not. (We recently moved wit other company. It costed us $800. We got about twice more furniture than two years ago...) We were really upset with experience. When we tried to argue about the price the owner rudely told us on phone something like "you want ME to apologize for blankets they used to protect YOUR furniture!" This was not the point we were arguing, but it was clear complaining would lead nowhere. Shortly after the move, my wife posted a one-start review on Yelp. The owner contacted her, and a very ugly scene unfolded. My wife told me: "First he [the owner] told me that I'm lying and never used his company. So I told him the names of the movers and little by little I disclosed my identity. He then started texting me on my cell saying that I'm "just someone who hates him and his family personally", that "I'm bashing family business with kids at home," and when "his kids are begging on the street" he hopes I'd "buy them McDonald's. And more like these. He used his kids a lot twisting the conversation into me being a monster who hates hard working people like him and wants his kids suffer. It was scary and disgusting. Even more scary because he knew where I lived. So, I deleted the review." When my wife told me this, I told her she should have reported this guy. We till have the texts. In short: He harassed her for complaining that his guys charged us $2500 instead of $800 we were quoted, and run "packing materials" scam on us. All of which (overcharging and packing materials scam) are already mentioned in other reviews on this website. Why posting now? Two years after the experience with M&M movers, we could have forgotten the triple charge and moved on. But we cannot forget the crazy behavior and harassment the owner Massimo Ferrari that he subjected my wife to in order to make her delete her negative review. Saying to her things like "When my kids are begging on the street, I hope you'd buy them McDonald's". This is completely nuts. It pains me to think how many people were also subjected to the same behavior and also deleted their reviews because they were terrified of the guy. M&M Movers are my go-to company moving forward. Best experience ever and I have moved frequently over the years. When I called to get a quote, Natalie was professional, friendly, and answered numerous questions and I must have contacted her at least seven times because I kept adding things to the list. I received the best price after calling several moving companies and they were hundreds of more dollars for a simple 16-mile move. They even include take-down and set-up in the price and I had them assist me with my queen size bed frame. Natalie and her team care about the service they provide and ensure you are happy from the beginning to the end. The movers (Kyle, Javier and Ernesto) showed up first thing in the morning as expected and had everything out of the residence and showed up to the new residence according to schedule. I was moving from a second-floor apt. into a third-floor apartment, and they asked me what my preferences were when we arrived at the new place. The guys were courteous, respectful and never left any debris/messes before or after the move, and they make sure you check the truck and that you are completely satisfied before they sign out for the assignment. Would I use M&M movers again? Absolutely. And when I do, I will ask for the same guys to be the movers. Why mess with a good thing? read more

Overall very pleasant experience in an otherwise very stressful day. Definitely recommend M&M movers and spefically Stepehen and his team. Stephen and his team showed up slightly ahead of our scheduled time. They moved everything from our 2nd floor walk up building and the storage in the basement in about 3 hours (3bed worth of furniture plus 60+ boxes, some of which were very large wardrobe boxes). The interstate move (from NJ to PA) would otherwise be very stressful. Thanks to Stephen and his team's effort, this definitely felt like a local move. They showed up in our new home literally right after we arrived. The unpack was even smoothier. We needed to move part of our stuffs in our new home and part in the detached garage 100 feet away. They were very helpful sorting everything for us to ensure everything goes to the right places. Stephen even offered to stage our new home to make sure each piece of furniture goes to the right room and all the beds (king and queen) were reassembled correctly in time. When it comes to billing, no surprises as everything was black and white - super transparent upfront. Overall, can't be happier with the experience! Moving is one of the most stressful experiences in many's life but thanks the for being helpful and professional to make it a much easier process. read more

M&M movers did a phenomenal job helping us move in to our new home. I was very nervous prior to the move date based of bad experiences with other companies in the past, but Natalie and Brittany kept following up to ensure I was all set and had everything I needed. That was definitely very comforting leading up to the move. On the Move day, M&M was precise on timing, came in scoped everything out, and really made me feel good about everything. Ian, who supervised the move, was courteous and very professional, identified any issues with Furniture prior to packing. Ian along with Pedro and Moe, were extremely careful and meticulous with everything they did. They had to battle with elevator log jams and thunderstorms and still managed to be very close to the original time estimate. we were 1.5 hours away from our destination, and they said they'll be there at 3:30, and they actually arrived at 3:30 exactly. I was extremely satisfied with the move and will absolutely recommend M&M movers to anyone. Very professional company and makes you feel extremely safe and secure with the move. I hired M&M movers for the company I work for and I usually don't take the time to write reviews but they did such a wonderful job that I felt the need to tell everyone how happy I am with the entire company. We got a bunch of estimates but Max at M&M was thorough and extremely helpful when it came to answering all of my questions. The estimate was easy to understand. Once we decided to hire them I spoke to Brittany and Natalie, they were both responsive and answered the many questions I had in a friendly manner. When it came to moving day it was Ian, Abe, Josh, and Jean. We gave Ian the instructions and he followed everything and remembered it all. I was amazed. They were very nice the entire day and it was hard work! They were careful and knowledgeable. They explained the bill/charges and made sure I was happy with everything. It was a long day for them but they were just as nice at the end of the day after working so hard as they were at 9am. I wish every company was this easy to work with. read more

I had a four-man crew. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and straight through the job. It was a two-floor walkup. Melvin and his crew were extremely hard workers. All additional prices for taping blankets on furniture and suggesting to wrap my light-colored couch were discussed upfront - absolutely no surprises! The team was amazing. I was also impressed by the accuracy of my estimate! I arranged a flat rate. After telling Max how many boxes and all the furniture that was to be moved - his estimate was six hours and one hour for travel to and from moving locations and back. The job was done in six hours! Furniture I was concerned about: I had a dining table that needed to be disassembled; a large screen TV; and a somewhat rickety computer desk - everything was moved perfectly. M&M Movers moved me and my family 2 days ago and it was a very pleasant experience. At first I was skeptical because I've lived in my home for over 15 years but after meeting the estimator who is the owner, Mr. Ferrari, I knew I made the right choice. It was important to me that he was knowledgeable of all the questions I had. He himself has over 25 years of experience. He left me his company's folder with their credentials for me to compare to other companies. He wasn't pushy as other estimators were. I called the office and customer service was just as friendly. The movers helped move by Baby Grand piano flawlessly which is very dear to our family. They also helped me finish packing up my kitchen because I didn't have the time with all the running around I had to do. I highly recommend this company. I had an amazing experience with M&M Movers on March 1st! Elvin, Derrick, and Fabrisio went above and beyond to make my move effortless. They cleared out my one-bedroom apartment--including my bed frame, mattress, dresser, and nightstand--in just 30 minutes, then helped me retrieve items from my storage unit before heading to my new home. Once there, they carefully transported everything inside and expertly reassembled my furniture. Not only did they handle my belongings with great care, but they also completed the entire move, including three stops, in just about two hours! Just did my move and fully impressed. Showed up on time (Kyle - one of the moving team -even gave me a courtesy call to let me know exactly when they'd be arriving within the time window of the offer I had signed) They were a team getting my entire place well set up on the truck, and couldn't have been more impressed than by Kyle single-handedly moving entire pieces of furniture out of the apt and down a full flight of stairs out front (I could possibly lift the futon and the rotating club chair... with effort standing in place,, but also carry them through doorways AND down a flight of 8+ stairs... never). I used them recently, and I have to say they were wonderful. Stephen was the foreman, and he was with Nick and Ian. They came exactly on time, and helped us pack and move the items we hadn't gotten to yet. They were quick, as well, when we got to our new home. They moved over 90 boxes of stuff we had, and brought them to the correct rooms as labeled on each box. They were polite and charming as well. You get to know people when you're with them an entire day. We had no problems with them at all. And thanks to Max, Britanny and Natalie in the office who helped arrange the move; even when we had to change the date, they were easy to us. All in all, a perfect move. Thanks guys!!! read more

Let me start out by saying that the move came only 2 days after the hurricane came through. My car got destroyed and I was so stressed out. I was afraid the movers would have to cancel on account of all the flooding. But they came through big time, even after the elevator in the building was not operational. Devine, Anothony, and Juan did an incredible job moving from a second floor apartment to a house an hour away!! They were professional, knowledgeable, and even had a good sense of humor. I Recently needed a moving company got quotes from multiple different companies but M&M stood out to me they were very efficient and well mannered when it came to meeting my needs.Max and Natalie were great at providing me with an estimate as well as good service the movers (Kyle, Ernesto,javier ) were phenomenal they worked 8 hours took all my furniture apart wrapped it and put it back together which although the estimate was 7 hours i understand it's an estimate at the end of the day and didn't mind the extra hour because I saw how hard the movers were working if I ever need to move again I definitely know who I'll be calling Thankyou M&M! read more

By far, THE best movers I have used. This moving company is amazing: price is reasonable, everyone I dealt with - from the agent I spoke with to make arrangements, to the owner, the foreman and the other movers - were all very pleasant, and the move itself went without a hitch. The foreman, plus two other guys arrived a few minutes early and got us out of our old place and moved in within 6.5 hours (including 1.5 hours driving time from our old place to new place). This moving company was amazing. I have already recommended them to three different friends in their upcoming moves. The team got to my apartment 30 mins early, moved everything within 2 hours (we had a lot of stuff), set up our beds in our new place and was professional and friendly the whole time.
