I was very happy with these guys. My mother used these folks several times and referred me to them when I needed to make my move to Brooklyn. The price was fair and Mitch was very helpful during the whole process. The movers that I had, Esau, Thomas, and Shawn were all incredibly friendly and efficient. In fact, they were the same guys my mother had for her move only 7 months prior! These guys got to my original location early and were careful, as well as intelligent, instead of being the stereotypical yes men that I have seen movers be in the past. For 6 hours of work (the travel time to Brooklyn was the biggest part of the move), everything I packed survived the move. They even put my mother's bed back together prior to them leaving for Brooklyn. That was very nice of them. My realtor recommended them and I am very grateful to her. Mitch, the owner is ethical and his estimates were reasonable including wardrobes, crating etc. He was accessible for questions and performed tedious tasks. The entire team led by Thomas, who is one of the strongest men I have ever met, performed like a well oiled machine; they all prepped a day in advance , loaded into truck storage, and then unloaded 5 days later. I cannot say enough about their polite demeanors, including Shawn and Esau, whose levity brought smiles especially during those stressful moments inherent in moving. Problems were handled and despite the blistering heatwave and humidity they were steady. We have heavy, vintage furniture which required brawn and precision especially for delicate pieces; one required very special crating. They were always careful and caring, as nothing was broken or marred. When they left I felt I had truly been fortunate to entrust my move to this company and their personnel. Three days later, we're still not moved in, thanks to Windsor Moving Co.. By far, the worst people I've ever worked with. Larry, our "head" mover, if you will, spent the majority of the move screaming at both his workers and my family. Moving is a stressful and traumatic experience, and these movers only made it more terrible. They were rough, brash, rude, took breaks every twenty minutes to smoke (and dump their cigarette butts on our lawn and driveway, no less), broke things, brought the wrong size trucks, over charged us after our estimate (estimate was $1600, move ended up costing $3100 - ridiculous.), scuffed all our floors, dragged dirt everywhere, screamed in my face over nothing, and took THREE DAYS to move us from our town house to an apartment 20 minutes down the road. Not to mention, their boss fired our head mover mid-move, who deserted our truck until the head of the company had to come pick it up to finish the move. Then, they unpacked everything ALL OVER the new apartment, leaving no room for walking, and every well-labled box in the wrong place. The worst experience of my life, do NOT hire this company if you can avoid it. They may appear to be cheap, but it's not worth it - spend the extra cash and get a GOOD moving company instead. 0 stars, if applicable. read more

This company came recommended to to me but they have turned out to be a NIGHTMARE! As most shady movers, they "estimate" a nice low price, load all your stuff with no more mention of price or payment and as soon as the truck door locks, the price is 3 times higher. They have all you belonging's hostage but act like the injured party demanding payment. I wanted to store with them for a few months but now just trying to get someone to pick up my things and they won't give a final bill. It's beyond disgusting! read more

Horrible moving company. This company is next to car salesman in rip of. The owner is a crook. This is a company out to fleece every penny of yours. The quoted onsite estimate is a bogus. Despite no additions or changes to original packing, the owner and the supervisor will put addendum, wrong working time, wrong travel hour etc to the final bill. Read the small print and every alphabet in the estimate, how time is calculated, whether basement or second floor. Owners estimate and supervisor final bill do not match, since the owner does not do a good job of initial estimation, he always underestimates then supervisor adds on. I have moved 10 times, had bad experiences but this was something new. read more

Made moving someone who didn't want to move easy. On time, professional, easy to work with. Everything expertly packed so everything arrived in perfect condition and placed in desired location. This is a mixed review.. The employees , the people who actually moved us, were excellent. They were efficient, courteous, a pleasure from beginning to end. The owner of this company is shady, though. One example. When my husband and I signed the contract for the move, we were explicitly told that packing was included in the price. When we received the bill, presented to us by the wonderful supervisor of this moving crew, who was then placed in a very uncomfortable position, $1600 (!!)) had been added to price for packing. Moving is never fun and usually a stressful experience, and it would be nice if moving companies made that easier - not harder! Unfortunately this was not the case with Windsor Moving. For a series of events I found myself having to move an entire furnished apartment cross-state by myself, with no help. I Contacted them months in advance to secure a date and that the move could be done within a day. Two days before this date, the owner contacted me saying they were gonna pack my things one day in advance and then deliver them the next day, causing me a first wave of panic because I wasn't ready. In addition to this, they weren't able to tell me until a few hours before WHEN they were gonna deliver this in the destination town, which was 3 hours away from the origin one, which was crazy because I had to drive there and had nowhere to stay. They arrived late at my origin place to pick up stuff. The highlight of the experience was when they were not able to dismantle a piece of furniture and declared the only solution was to force it and break it, which they did - luckily with minor damage. The whole crew was really rude to me (I'm a woman and as I said I was doing all this alone), and kept on bitching the entire time about how my furniture was bad and I should never have bought it. I spent two days hoping they would finish and leave asap. When they finished, cherry on the cake: the bill was 200$ more than what they had told me the previous day, and when I called the owner (Mitch, who didn't show up on the day of the delivery) he babbled something about having to hire an extra driver because he could not come, which I have no idea what it means because I did not ask for it. I just paid them so that they would leave and I could forget about this nightmare, but I feel like I should warn people: if you want to move with some peace of mind, look elsewhere. read more

This was the third time that our family has used Windsor for a move. Owner Mitch Einstein is very knowledgeable and helpful and easy to reach and to communicate with. The team we have worked with most is supervisor Thomas with John Esaw Jackson Petey and Rick work very hard and very fast. Our moves have been pretty complicated with multiple destinations hard-to-access driveway lots of odd belongings, but the crew is capable, has good judgment, and is careful not to break anything. They are also a pleasure to work with, patient, sense of humor, trying hard to please, even under difficult circumstances. Friendly and professional. Refreshing to finally deal with a local service company that puts the customer first. The person who came out to do my estimate was on time and very knowledgeable. On moving day, the truck was actually at my house early and ready to go. They were very careful with my furniture and fragile items as well as my carpets (which was very important to me)! Just like Chelly S., my review is mixed. I packed and wrapped all my stuff so, there were no surprise on the bill. If I had let them disassemble my son's platform bed and re-assemble it as was stipulated, the moving crew warned me that I would end up paying a lot more. So we did it ourselves. The crew was great. They in fact worked harder than needed because they manually carrie all the furniture to the moving truck!!! The only thing that was put on a wheeled dolly/hand truck was the piano. The manual carry caused screws on 2 dressers and one cabinet to somewhat get lose and a bit out of shape. The crew gets 5 stars in my book. The company gets 3 because the owner didn't equip the cres properly. . read more

Definitely would not use Windsor Moving again. Communication about the move and expected expenses was very poor. I was told that there would be a contract sent which never happened.There were many added expenses that were not disclosed prior to the move.The time they say it takes to drive to locations is not accurate. In addition, there were 3 men but really only one of the movers was pleasant to work with and put forth honest effort.They also work extremely slowly and two pieces of new white furniture were scuffed up.To say the least, we were very disappointed with Windsor Moving. read more

Windsor Movers showed up 2 hrs late on day of move, wasn't until I called them that I was told their truck broke down. I am a senior citizen moving only 2 miles away. Received an estimate from Mitch. On the emailed estimate there was a breakdown for various items - e.g. packing between $260 & $380, # of men, total hours, fuel, etc. On the bottom right was the figure $1385 right next to the words, in big red letters "TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF SERVICES" When the move was completed, I was told that the price came in under the estimate, but was then charged $1785! (I actually expected to get a break on the price because they were so late in showing up) When I questioned this I was told to call Mitch - who told me that the TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF SERVICE wasn't really the total - it didn't include packing charges. Talk about a bait and switch! Also I pointed out that a wooded coat rack was broken - was told that it must have been that way to being with. In the days that followed I noticed that a metal coat rack was bent, and also noticed various dings on other furniture. Would definitely NOT recommend Windsor Movers to anyone! Janice F. read more
