They cleaned my nice jacket for about $20, which is reasonable, and had it done in a timely fashion as well. They are very friendly and conveniently located by the hub intersection with ample parking. They are open Saturdays but the 9-5 weekday hours might be tough for some. This is a great family-run business. They are excellent at dry cleaning, laundry, and pressing. And, the tailoring work is expert. Don't let the cluttered appearance of the changing area put you off. This is a neighborhood Mom & Pop operation. I've been using them on and off when I moved to San Anselmo 7 years ago. I mainly use them for alterations (ie: jeans, dresses, etc.) and they do a good job for a reasonable price. If you have high end clothes that need TLC, I wouldn't recommend M & R. Unbelievably great! My mother's group of friends in Marin all agreed that M& R was the best in Marin. However, I had no idea that they would become like family. They go the extra mile -- actually marathon - such as when we need a rush, they find a way. When I have to pick up after hours, they found a way for that, too. They are right at the HUB, and tucked away near a string of gyms, and cleaning is a lost art -- except they never lost it and could not be more helpful, responsive! I can't tell you how many things I've asked them to do for me that seemed impossible and not only did they do it, they did it beautifully, professionally and efficiently; examples; cleaning an impossible to clean rug, repairing puppy chewed throw pillow corners, sleeve shortening of a military jacket with multiple cuff and button placement, hole in my favorite wool blanket (puppy damaged)...aside from a great job on normal dry-cleaning, their repair services are amazing! This is quite simply the best cleaner I have found in Marin County. I own a large collection of vintage designer items that I have collected over the years from various places, including thrift and consignment stores and this is the *only* place I would trust to clean them. They put up with my pickiness, and have won my loyalty for ever and ever. I drive to San Anselmo from Corte Madera to have my husband's shirts and my items cleaned. My experience over the last four years is this: They do not break buttons. They do not 'set' stains. They do not write your last name all over shirts with ink pen. They do not shrink items. They do not remove color along with stained areas. *They do not lose clothing* or try to give you someone else's stuff. Decent alterations too, for minor things. I went in for a basic suit cleaning with a brand new suit seeing only good reviews, when I came back to pick the suit up the jacket had a tear in the sleeve which was most definitely not there before, I had just bought the suit not too long before. I am extremely angry and the worst part is they claimed 0 responsibility and still tried to charge me for the cleaning! Absolutely would NOT recommend!!! read more

Kay, Richard, and Sue are very friendly and helpful whenever we drop off our dry cleaning and laundry at M & R cleaners. They also do a fabulous job of cleaning our clothing, and the order is always ready when promised. They will even replace buttons and do limited tailoring. I'm embarrassed to say that once I thought they had lost an item of clothing. They searched and searched again, and called me at home with an update. They asked me to please check my closets again. They were right. I had hung my freshly dry cleaned item in my son's closet, with his clothes, instead of my own. I can't believe I'm only the 2nd person to review this dry cleaner. They are amazing. I've been using them for 5 months now and they are the best I've ever had. By far. I, too, have clothes that I care very deeply about. Not vintage, but expensive items. They have handled them very well. There are no ugly press marks, no stinky dry cleaning odors, and my dark colors have all stayed looking great. They are courteous and helpful.
