I scheduled a model call appointment for 12:00 PM and unfortunately had to cancel due to a family emergency. I called at 1:20 PM the day before my appointment and left a voicemail because no one answered the phone. In my message, I explained that my aunt had been placed on life support and that I would not be able to make it to my appointment.
Despite providing more than 24 hours' notice and explaining the emergency, I was still charged for the service. What made the situation even more frustrating is that it's extremely difficult to reach anyone directly by phone, as calls typically go to voicemail and you have to wait for a callback.
I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but charging someone who attempted to cancel in advance during a serious family emergency felt very disappointing.
