Normally when I hear the words all you can eat sushi I assume one of two things, either it will cost a ton or the sushi will be horrible. Sushi King blew my assumptions right out of the water, it was well priced and the sushi was delicious. My partner and I went here for lunch right after we moved to the area. The restaurant has different prices for lunch and dinner, but even their lunch menu had a good variety of rolls. Everything I had, from the miso soup to the dessert-like Charlottesville roll was delicious, the fish tasted fresh, the rice had good texture, and omg the unagi tasted great, probably some of the best unagi I've had since I moved away from Boston. 3.5 stars I remember the first time I came here not too long after it opened. The idea of all you can eat sushi at a flat rate sounded amazing. I was addicted to this place and craved it all the time in the beginning. But after some time, the quality and my satisfaction seemed to decrease. I always start off with the shrimp shumai dumplings and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was some of the best I've had at a restaurant because of their perfect balance of crab and cream cheese. Most recently, however, I felt that they weren't as filled as they used to be. Nevertheless the flavors are there. Occasionally I get the beef gyoza dumplings too, which are decent. The dinner menu has a lot more variety and includes my favorite roll: the Hawaii Roll. It was this roll that made me discover how amazing the combination of mango and shrimp tempura is. I also enjoy ordering the Las Vegas Roll (very filling), Volcano Roll, and the Sea Angel Roll. The Las Vegas Roll, though, lacked smoked salmon at my most recent visit. Overall, I think you can really get you money's worth if you order at least 2-3 rolls. It's definitely filling and the Hawaii Roll is still one of my favorite rolls ever but I don't get as excited about eating here as I used to. read more

The sushi was artfully displayed with floral accoutrements and made the process of serving the meal quite decadent. I'm not sure what the names of his rolls were but I did really enjoy my dragon roll and monkey rolls with fried banana. The rolls I ordered came out freshly made and tasted subtly flavorful. I would recommend trying the monkey roll with fried banana if you're looking for something off the beaten path. It was sweet but not overpowering and surprisingly quite good for the strange pairing of ingredients. The salad bar is a mix of desserts, salads, servings of oysters on the half shell, and popular sushi items. The servers are nice and very attentive. Where do I even begin? I had such a great experience here and such great food. Part of me is sad that I'd missed out on Sushi King until today. But the joy that it brought me more than made up for it. Service: it was awesome. Our party of 5 was able to order as much as we wanted (and could finish). We were slightly indecisive and confusing with our orders at some points probably but our server was very friendly and able to keep up. We were able to perfectly gauge how much we could eat which was probably helpful. Salad bar: I was excited to see that our all you can eat dinner came with a salad bar. I was ecstatic to see what it included. There was raw fish, seaweed salad, and other seafood salads. I was in heaven from the start! I got three small plates at the beginning before we even got any of our main food. This was nice because our first batch of food took around 15-20 minutes to come out after we ordered. Hibachi meats: we got the steak and shrimp and two orders of vegetables alone. It was all delicious! The steak was very tender. Sushi: I loved that there were so many specialty rolls to choose from! My favorites were the love roll, crazy monkey, and king rolls. To be honest, I loved every roll that we ordered. The different rolls have different numbers of pieces so if you're worried about being able to finish, just ask to make sure! We also got sushi which was good but I'm not a huge fan of all that rice underneath each piece. I would recommend just trying the rolls! Dessert: I was surprised I even wanted to tackle dessert considering how much other food I ate. But the pineapple ice cream was amazing! Included in the price is all you can eat salad/dessert bar, made to order specialty rolls, sushi, appetizers, entree style dishes (e.g. fried rice, hibachi) and you can order as much as you want - just make sure you don't over-order because you'll be charged extra for excessive leftover food. The specialty rolls and appetizers are the best options on the menu; they're pretty good and come in decent portions. The sushi/nigiri has more rice in proportion to the size of the fish so I wouldn't order too many so you won't get full too fast.
