Yum!!! I always get excited when I find a hibachi takeout spot while on vacation because there aren't many in Philly as they are usually dine in with the full experience for the most part. The shrimp shumai was gummy and typically I'm a huge fan but I wouldn't order these again from here--might try the pan fried option if anything but the steamed weren't great. This is without a doubt my favorite place to get food in Harrisonburg. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. My personal favorite is the rock'n shrimp bento box or the steak hibachi. I always end up leaving with leftovers (and the hibachi will give me 2 days worth of leftovers!). The prices are very good, especially as a broke college student on a budget. Their sushi is very good. I always order the Pink Lady. If you don't like the ginger salad dressing (complimentary salad!!), definitely go for the ranch dressing. I love both dressings! I was actually intending on dining in at Sushi Jako, which is just up the road, but they were closed to prep for dinner. So, naturally, I came here, as I've already tried out Sushi Village. I expected a pretty standard sushi place, but I believe I had something slightly above average for my first visit. I started with a sashimi platter for apps, and it was 7 pieces total including tuna, white tuna and yellowtail. Tasted pretty fresh, especially the white tuna, in bigger chunks than usual. I also ordered a standard spicy salmon roll and the Colorful Roll, which is one of the special rolls. Really nice flavor on the salmon, except there was something hard that I was biting into on every roll. Unsure exactly what it was, but I still enjoyed it. The real kicker was the special roll. Finally!! After trying a bunch of Asian restaurants in Harrisonburg, I've found good Asian food!! I made an order for takeout, and my food was ready for pickup within 30 minutes! Upon entering the restaurant, it was completely packed at every table on a Friday night which is always a good sign. The woman at the counter was very friendly and attentive to everyone walking in the door. This must be the only good General Tso's in Harrisonburg! I've tried most of the Chinese restaurants in the area, and Sakura's is by far the best. Everything was very fresh. The food was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and I could barely finish there was so much food (not super big into large portions, but I was impressed!). Takes the cake for terrible experiences. This was not our first time at Sakura 10 in Harrisonburg, VA but is very likely our last. Our daughter is a student at JMU and visit regularly. It was apparently our server's first night working there. And it was JMU's Family weekend on a Friday night, so it was predictably busy. The number of issues we experience go beyond both of those facts. New server forgot to place my daughter's sushi order My wife's order was wrong My wife removed far more dishes from our table than our server. My Tempura chicken was room temp Another table that arrived well after us (+45min) received their orders before us (same server) Had to get our own chop sticks and to-go boxes New server never followed up or checked in with us, refill waters or drinks, notify us status of orders, apologize for the delay, literally NOTHING! Fried rice was very bland An experienced, second server stepped in and pretty much did the best he could. He was tipped due to how he got things done. When checking out, told the manager and staff of our experience and how they're inadequate training of their new employees reflects poorly on their business. Another hostess/manager said under her breathe sarcastically "it's not like we're not busy" that my wife heard (who has worked extensively in the restaurant industry), to which my wife replied: 'You can still provide good customer service when you're busy and short staffed. It's very obvious our server was not sufficiently trained or ready for what was known to be a busy night. She did not even check on us once even refill our water." They then proceeded to make other excuses. The manager apologized and took 20% off our bill. Honestly, they probably should have just comp'd the entire bill given the number of issues experienced, maybe then we'd be more open to returning. We were not the only customers complaining that we could hear. Sakura management really needs to evaluate how they train their new employees. Putting them on the floor solo on an extremely busy night should obviously be avoided. If you're understaffed or overwhelmed, then limit the number of tables being seated and communicate to your customers that things will take a little longer. We were thankful for the seasoned server who pretty much took over our table as best he could. That server demonstrated exemplary customer service as compared to any of the managers. read more

There is no option to cancel your order online. The email says to call them to change or cancel your order. I've called 6 times now and no answer. I understand they were very busy. If they had let me cancel my order at the store when I had asked and BEFORE they even started my food, I definitely would have. Everything that we had here was amazing... except for the Sashimi. We had Asparagus Roll, Avocado & Mango Roll, TNT Roll, Harrisonburg Roll, Crispy Vegetable Spring Roll, Grilled Mussels, Egg Sushi, and a bunch of Salmon Sashimi. The mussels were hands down the best I've ever had in a sushi restaurant. They were perfect. My boyfriend also said the Spring Rolls were the best he'd ever had. All of the rolls that we chose were SO GOOD. The only disappointing thing is that my favorite item on any sushi menu is Salmon Sashimi. Good, fresh salmon melts in your mouth like butter, it's so tender and delicious. But this salmon tasted a little old and was disappointing. It wasn't the worst I've had and was edible, but it just didn't taste fresh. I wish I hadn't ordered so much of it, it's usually my favorite and I think I was overexcited. I'll hold off on judgment, maybe it was just an unlucky day to order salmon and they had too much they needed to get rid of. I'm a little bummed because it was expensive and at that price I really want it to be fresh. But honestly everything else was so delicious that I'd say overall, this is the best sushi restaurant in Harrisonburg. We will definitely be coming back again and again. Service is very fast and the food comes out VERY fast. First thing I noticed is thay the serving size is very generous, which is very welcoming. I ordered the Sushi Boat (Lover boat for 2) which comes with 7 pcs sushi, 15 pcs sashimi, and any 2 special rolls. This is the biggest thing on their menu so far I think. We got the Kobe roll and the VA roll. Both rolls were really good. The sashimi on the other hand was still partially frozen. Nevertheless, the taste was really good. There was Red tuna (Maguro), Yellowtail, salmon, tilapia, shrimp. The Kobe roll came with kobe beef on top of the roll, the VA roll had a shrimp tempura in the middle. The staff came to our table to ask how everything was and was very polite. After we finished the sushi, the server brought me a ice cream with tempura shell. It was actually pretty good. They changed the songs on their playlist to a Happy birthday song and I was like "wow" they changed the song to match the moment! Price was good for what you get. Because they don't clean the surface of the grill after each use so they are cooking different types of fish where they cook your chicken without cleaning it.
