just now I was recommended to M-Tech by several other riders. Dropped my bik off for fork seal repair. Had a call two hours later (after shop hours) that the bike was done . Picked up the bike rode home (2 miles). Went out of town for a week. Went for a 100 Mile ride. 30 miles into the trip I went to stop and the forks went soft. Limped back home. Called Sage and brought the bike back in. Once again dropped it off and it was done two hours later. They had the wrong spec on the oil level. Initial service was speedy. They got me back up and riding and admitted to the error. That means a lot in Bend anymore. 46 year native. This is like the old school shops. I'll be taking my bike back. CST read more

Overall I am extremely disappointed with the quality of work that I received @ M-Tech. The craftsmanship was not that of what you expect from a professional shop. When I returned the bike, I provided pictures showing what I'd originally expected to be done before ordering the bars like you and I had discussed. I ended up paying an additional $500 in labor and still have wires exposed and clipped together with zip ties. This is extremely disappointing spending $1250 in labor and not getting the job completed. For these reasons, I'm unable to continue doing business with you or recommend any of my coworkers or friends to have work done on their bikes at M-Tech. read more

M-Tech saved me a couple years ago on a cross country ride. Unbelievably responsive. The two owners arranged a tow truck to get me 100+ miles away and they were waiting for me at 7PM. Who does that? They have sent me parts here in Idaho a couple of times. I called up today for a part, an oil filter wrench, and before I could finish my request the guy said we don't sell or rent tools and we do the oil change along with "I have customers waiting". My daughter (20) bought her first bike and brought it to M Tech for some repairs. It was stolen from the shop while parked out in front. The key was left in the ignition. They had her talk to the police, but did not offer any other assistance, or make any statement about covering for the loss. I talked with my daughter and we decided to wait to see how M Tech would handle the situation. The never reached out to my daughter. A few days later, my daughter called them, and they hadn't even contacted their insurance company about it yet. I am restoring 8 Marine Corps KLR 650s (M1030B1). I've used M-Tech on several occasions when I get stuck on something. They've rebuilt a engine, pressed on bearings, extracted several broken bolts, and spent 30 minutes helping me get out a rusted swing arm pivot bolt. Numerous times I wasn't even charged. At first I thought their labor rates were about the same as their competitors but they've always completed the work faster then three other shops I tried first. This means that not only do they perform top notch work but it's the same price or less then their competitors. It's the only shop I use now when I need help. read more

I went there with my motorcycle for leaking fork fluids. Labour was $120 and I forgot their rate, but I suspect this was about 1.5 hours worth of work. They had it for two weeks. I asked for a discount since they had it so long, and they said they'd take off the "disposal of hazardous material". Turns out that was only $3. I asked the person doing the billing if they remembered to give me the discount and they said yes. I go home look at the bill, and the $3 was not even on the bill after all that. While they did apologize for keeping it so long (mechanic went on vacation) they shouldn't tell me they're giving a discount, and then not give it. Plus, $3 is really weak anyway (1%). Had i known they would take that long, there's no way I would have had them work on it. Lame. Aside from this, they were pleasant and it looked like a nice shop. Update: December 17, 2016 Wow, five years to respond to my original review above. I'm guessing the pricing info has changed since then too. Furthermore, peak seasons in August? I said the mechanic went on vacation. Would be a bad idea to take a vacation during peak season, no? Why are you even trying to speculate what happened five years ago? Derp. read more

Great customer service. They got new tires and wheel bearings ordered and installed within 48 hrs, which is awesome because I have new tires to ride with my wife on her birthday this Sunday. Got a text right when they were done and when i got there, the bike was sitting out front like it was valet parked for my arrival. Price was fair, shop was clean and organized, and overall it was a wonderful first experience with M Tech and I'll be returning to them for my next services. Totally reccomend! read more

A month before my appointment, I contacted M-tech about remapping my 2016 Honda Africa Twin and consequently purchased the aftermarket parts they said I needed to do the job. When I delivered the bike they appeared very competent but as the day progressed it was evident my bike was their first DCT Africa Twin they'd ever seen. After 3 hrs of trial and error they informed me that they were not able to program the bike but were only going to charge me for 1/2 the time it was on their dyno machine. Despite my disappointment with the outcome, I did receive a sincere written explanation from the owner justifying his rational for the charges and I respect that he took the time to address my grievances. read more

I rolled into Bend Oregon half way through a 1500 mile trip on a Friday, late afternoon in the rain just before 5pm with a slow leak in my rear tire that I had plugged earlier in the day. I stopped at a dealer who couldn't help me and they pointed me to M-Tech. So glad they did! You would think, no chance at closing time on a Friday. Wrong, they had a tire in stock that I requested, installed quickly and I was out the door within an hour. Absolutely first rate service, very reasonable price and great guys! read more

I've brought a variety of bikes to M-Tech over the last year and they've always turned them around promptly and serviced according to my request. What's prompted me to write this 5-star review is that yesterday, just before M-Tech quitting time, I called because my Beemer had just lost all electrics while on the road. Sage, their Service Manager, answered and said he'd be there to pick me up promptly. True to his word he was there with M-Tech's enclosed trailer within 40 minutes. How do you beat that for Customer Service??? I'm looking forward to picking up my repaired moto and will be bringing along a case of beer as a thank-you for the last minute rescue. read more

This is, by far, my favorite motorcycle repair and service department in Bend. No, they are not the cheapest, nor are they always the fastest. But one look at their service bay and you'll know two things. First, they run a very clean and very organized garage - that speaks volumes about how they work. And second, one look at the customer bikes that are waiting for service will convince you that everybody in Bend with a nice motorcycle is obviously taking it to M-Tech for service. I've had them do all the work on my Aprilia, Yamaha, and Kawasaki over the last few years and have been very happy. Downsides? Sometimes their labor costs more than I was expecting. (But sometimes it's much less). And their main service writer, Dean, is always weird. (But always incredibly helpful, and entertaining. And handsome. If you're into weird guys). read more

Had a rear shock for a motocross bike that had a leaking seal. Called m-tech and they said $90. I get there to pick it up and the guy rings me up for $140! I asked how in the world could you tell me $90 and charge me $140 and he goes "oh it's 90 plus parts and labor" ok then what's the $90 cover? Any normal place doesnt charge $140 even for a complete rebuild and re-valve. I guess these guys just felt they could take advantage of me. Took my XR650R in for carb work and to rebuild the top end. Sage provided advice and coordinated logistics...overnight parts delivery, etc., while Matt did most of the mechanical work. They're both super knowledgeable and make a great team...they went out of their way to make it all happen and I don't see how I could have asked for more. Very reasonable price too. This was my first time there, so going in I was a little concerned about the one star reviews. While there I saw a customer come in who had brought electronics with him that turned out to be incompatible with his bike. If he'd just told them what he wanted to accomplish from the beginning, Sage would have gotten the right part and everyone would have been happy. Instead of taking responsibility for his mistake, the guy blamed the guys at M-Tech. I have a better sense now of how one star reviews can happen for a top notch shop...it's only one side of the story. read more
