Their business model allows them to run more MRI's in a given hour than a hospital. The hospital scheduling for me was two months, Basha 4 days. Basha was In-Network for my HAP MA. Co pay was $250 same as HAP/Henry Ford hospital would of been. I will get the MRI report via email within 4 business days and my doctor also. I was given the MRI disk since they are not part of a hospital network, to give to my doctor.

Should've known then to go somewhere else when basic business office protocol isn't professional. Then I was called to say the 2:30 appt needs to be changed to 3:30. Ok. No problem. Start my hour drive to get a call asking us to arrive earlier, we can't as we are too far away but should get there at 3:15pm. Then arrive to an overcrowded waiting room and am still sitting here an hour and 1/2 later before finally being called for MRI. Another 40 minutes and finally done. Paid in full though. A little less than $400 for a shoulder.

It was 91* on this August afternoon and the office, waiting and procedure rooms were clean and very cool not warm or hot at all. I paid out of pocket at checkout and $399.00 was my bill. Yes of course United Healthcare denied my coverage with their explanation "it was determined this service is not medically necessary". Why is allowed that some moron sitting behind a cubicle in Minnesota allowed to override my sports dr opinion and treatment? Anyway, the staff here at MRI of Southfield are friendly, explain things as we go along, professional and accommodating. Just FYI, the same MRI at Henry Ford is $415.00 and they were scheduling into October. We will definitely come back for any imaging needed in the future.

After calling around to a few places, I decided to come here, and I'm really glad I did! This specific MRI is mobile! It's parked outside and about the size of a semi truck. Well, it is a semi truck, but it's converted, so its huge. There's also a lobby where you go to check in and fill out paperwork with the lady behind the counter. She was super nice, and I was able to actually print the paperwork off their website. That saved me at least a good 15 minutes. I only had to sign on additional document when I got there, so I was ready to go. After a few minutes of waiting, a really nice man came out and called my name. He was SO COOL. He took me out to the machine and we went up on the ramp inside the truck. He opened the door (it looked like a garage door) and there was a little office with all kinds of equipment in it! It was just like a doctors office. I love it! He talked me through what to expect and I had to take off my jewelry, and a few other things. After a few questions and answers, off to the machine! He whipped out the bed and said that it's A) going to make a ton of noise, and most importantly, B) Don't move! I also got to listen to the radio through headphones while I was there. They also have a curtain area if you need to do a quick change. It's not huge, but if you need a private second like I did, it is there. I will say, the machine is super loud, and I could hear it imaging even with the headphones on. The radio wasn't super good, it sounded more like an AM radio. The noise didn't bother me, and the music was a super nice touch. I also had pillows for my head and underneath my knees, which made it slightly more comfortable. Overall, I really actually enjoyed my time here. Kudos to the two guys working the machine, they really did a super job. Warm, friendly and made my day. The whole thing took a little over 30 minutes or so. It flew by, and I was done before I thought I was going to be. Thank you Oakland MRI. Your staff is wonderful and I will recommend you to my friends. Cool beans!

July 15 marks five years since my father's Whipple surgery…read more We feel incredibly blessed that my dad has reached this important five-year milestone, and we are deeply thankful to God. As always, we attribute this success to an amazing trio: Dr. Raad Toma, who diagnosed the disease and developed the treatment plan. Dr. Michael Jacob, who performed the surgery, closely monitored my dad's recovery, and followed his progress during the first two years after surgery. Dr. Philip Philip, the oncologist who managed his chemotherapy treatment after surgery. I'm recognizing these doctors to express our heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary gift they gave our family--the gift of more time with my father. I also want to share this to remind others that there is hope. Early diagnosis, combined with a dedicated medical team that truly cares, can make all the difference. A few months ago, I read about a promising new drug for treating this disease and several other types of cancer. Based on encouraging clinical trial results, the FDA granted accelerated approval, and it is now being used for certain cancers, especially advanced Stage III and Stage IV cases where survival rates have traditionally been very low. The drug is called Daraxonrasib (formerly known as RMC-6236). Finally, this post is both an update and a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team who saved my dad and gave our family these five beautiful years together. Before I got a word in "Dr. Toma" asked Can I help you?" I asked do you take "United Health Care Insurance?" Dr. Toma didn't say yes or no, But what she did say eurked me. She asked me am I a current client? I said no. She replies by saying "We're not taking additional clients at this time" and so I asked her if she could refer me to a doctor in the area? She says its against doctor code to refer to other doctors? Which we all know is bull. Now mind you their doctor's office is nearly empty all day long, I know because I live nearby and I walk by it everyday! I asked her then when would she begin to start taking new clients again? Her response was "We're not taking any more clients" I told a guy outside what happened and his response was "Man you got the shaft!"
