two plates of salad

This is such a cute place in Port Coquitlam! I love Thai food and this place was recommended by a friend who had been there before. I love that they have so many options on their menu (including some vegan and vegetarian options as well). It's not a super big place but it's got a wonderful ambiance to it. Definitely worth trying it out!

Always in the search for a great authentic Thai spot. We stumbled upon this little gem in Coquitlam and so glad that we did. We've popped in 2 times in the last month and both times we arrived a little after they open. They get busy fast around noon so get there early!! We did see a sign that says that they have a 120 min limit time so if you're wanting to hang out for longer just a heads up. Most of the dishes have 4 spice levels, mild, medium, HOT and Thai HOT. I eat very spicy and opted for Thai HOT for the extra heat. It wasn't spicy enough so I needed to add extra. This is at an extra cost. $.50 (fresh chili), $.50 (chili flakes). The first time I also tried their homemade chili oil for $1.50 it was good but if you're looking for heat it isn't very spicy. The first time we tried their O-Taro and Crispy wontons but apparently it isn't available at lunch time now. Both were delicious!! Our go to dishes are papaya salad, Pe-nang Curry with beef, Spicy Noodle with chicken. We ordered the N1: Kawo Soi, Curry Noodles in soup by accident and it was yummy. I would definitely order again. Service was good, and efficient! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for some great Thai food.

Thai milk tea

This place gets busy closer to 6 pm when the dinner rush starts. There is a good reason too. The food here is good, similar to what you get in Thailand. The Thai iced milk tea is legit except it could be sweeter to be like in Thailand. We shared the tom kha, pad kra pow (basil pork) and red curry chicken. It was too much as the portions were huge, but that explained the higher than average prices. You could do two meals if you are a small eater. Or order more dishes and pack the leftovers so you could try more varieties. You could adjust the spice level according to your preference. The "hot" is not that spicy if you can take the heat. "Medium spice" is mild to me. There is plenty of parking available at the plaza. Same area where Pommes market and TD bank are. Nearer to Coquitlam center than to downtown PoCo area.

Ma Now Thai Kitchen has become - hands down - one of my fav Thai Restaurants. I stumbled upon this restaurant out of chance and I've been back about 4 or 5 times now. Modern and clean, the restaurant serves up some very delicious dishes that I find flavorful and fresh. The spice level for all the entrees can be adjuster based on preference and if you like it spicy, they even have Thai Hot. The one dish I have continuously order is the Kaow Soi Chicken. The gravy broth is unbelievable and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. For appies, I really enjoyed the Crunchy Wonton and O-Taro. Overall, it's on my rotation list of restaurants. The meals come quickly, service is always friendly and there is always ample parking. Nothing to dislike! I highly recommend it! Tip: Seating can be limited and this place can get busy during certain hours, so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time.

Menu & Water

On our way back to BC from Alberta, we stayed overnight in Pitt Meadows as part of our plan, we tried out Ma Now, as we heard so much positive comments from Yelp! And wow, we are so glad we did! Soon as we checked in we drove over for an early dinner, as I was guessing that on a Saturday night the place will be packed. We arrived at around 5:45pm and there are already a few large parties having their dinner, we were shown our table and presented with Menu and water. Food came relatively fast and in good intervals: Tom Yum Goong (Large): this is one of the best TYG, so far this year, the balance of lime & fish sauce is PERFECT!! As we had a choice of spiciness, we went for "Thai Hot" all the way! For the soup the spiciness was just right, but as I will tell you later the other two dishes were really "Thai HOT"! Nam Tok - Thai Beef Salad: The first impression is that the choice of vegetables are very western as it contains baby red & green lettuce, cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce, yellow bell peppers, but once you get to the beef ( they use steak here, grilled to medium rare ), the Thai characteristics of this dish exploded in your mouth! The beef is tossed in lime juice, mint leaves, ground toasted rice, chili powder, fish sauce and other ingredients, after evenly mixing the salad, you can really taste the beef's richness balanced with all the vegetables, a delightful dish! Chicken with Chili Basil: This is a Wok-stir fry dish, the Chef's wok skill is totally shown here! All the vegetables are extremely crispy but well cooked, the chicken breast meat were all very succulent and tender, flavour is a perfect balance of savoury & spice! We paired our dinner with Thai Beer & BC White Wine, and it was a perfect match, as "Thai Hot" means really hot & spicy, so if you want to experience the way it is in Thailand, go for it!! P.S. You may want to keep some room for dessert: The homemade coconut ice cream will help reduce the spiciness!!

Mango sticky rice & Coconut ice cream w/ jackfruit & corn

Love this place and the fact that they have a Vegan/Vegetarian menu. Our favourite is the Tom kha gai - Coconut cream soup, we always get that and add noodles. Super delicious. I've tried almost everything on their Veg menu - the pad Thai wasn't the best I've had. Other veg items were okay, nothing super special but that Coconut cream soup...super good and flavourful. Also, the coconut milk ice cream with corn and jackfruit is super yummy! Order it without the coconut roll biscuit to make it vegan

This place is so Vegan and Vegetarian friendly! I love that they have 2 pages dedicated in their menu just for these options, which really is amazing, I don't often see this anywhere. The food is delicious and very flavourful, I have never been disappointed. The restaurant itself is also very clean and the service is great. Our server had a smile on his face the entire time, which definitely adds to the experience. Prices are good considering the quality and portion size you get. I highly recommend this place for those on a hunt for Thai food in Coquitlam!

We stopped by for lunch over the long weekend. We were seated right away. Menus are available online with a QR code. We all ordered lunch specials as it was the only items available for ordering. My Thai milk tea tasted good as expected. The red curry with chicken tasted average. There was not much chicken but tons of bamboo shoots. The crunchy wonton wrapper was alright. Service was great. Staff wiped down table and chairs prior to us being seated. Food arrived fairly quickly. Covid precautions were in place. Overall, it was a 3.5 star meal.

First time here and wanted to try since they had a good rating. I can see why. Super fresh, decently portioned and fairly priced. Will be back to try the curry dishes then give a final rating. Pad Thai could have had more seasoning as it was a tad bland for me.

We dined in and tried their o-taro, panang curry, kao soi and fried rice. The o-taro appetizer dish is very unique and tasty! The meats in the panang curry and kao soi are more on the dry side. Usually, the kao soi chicken leg is super tender but I didn't find that in mine. Aside from that, the flavours are there and portion sizes are big. pork skewer 4 for $10

Really wanted to give restaurant a 5 star but they just miss the mark. Coming into the restaurant I felt they have really simple, minimalist decor which makes it really homie for a Thai restaurant. "Ma now" means lime - which is the ingredient they use on almost all dishes. We ordered most of our dishes "thai spicy hot" but it seems its not hot enough and end up being dissapointing. But taste wise, the food is delicious. I recommend the pad thai and pad gra pao with the coconut rice. Also the pork skewers are well cooked - eat it with the cilantro provided. Their food is sharable - portion size is decent. $13-15 per portion. Service is quick and attentive. I would give them another star when their food is more refined. More spices, less sugar/salt. Will come back to try other food.

Kaow Soi
Emma L.

Came here to try the Kaow Soi, it was only ok. It was very quiet inside, the staff was having lunch. I guess they only offer select items at lunch time because I was given a menu with a smaller selection. Overall, this is not the first place I would go to for Thai but definitely not a bad choice

Kenneth N.

Over-rated. Average compared to Vancouver so probably a dandy for locals here. Fish cakes oily. Lunch entree average as well, some type of chips all over soaked in curry sauce, barely any chicken. Won't get full here. Customer service could be friendlier. Nice decor though.

The curry I ordered had bell peppers and egg plants in it. It was soooo watery not what I'm looking for in a curry for sure.

Bite after bite, I could not find the zest of flavors that's distinctive of Thai food. It lacks the tamarind, lime, chili and fish sauce in every dish. Very disappointed! *Garlic Wings: tasted so plain, barely marinated *Crispy Fish with Tamarind Sauce: very crispy breading, sauce was too sweet no trace of tanginess *Tom Kha Soup: not spicy, not tangy *Pineapple Fried Rice: very plain *Pad Thai: we chose beef for protein. Beef was not velvety tender although the redeeming factor of this dish is the very al dente noodles *Pad Pak: tasted like any Asian mixed veggies *Durian Sticky Rice: tasted more salty than sweet, the saltiness failed to bring out the sweetness of the durian *Mango Sticky Rice: this dish failed as the three ingredients didn't blend its flavors together.

Restaurant has a very nice ambiance with warm colour tone. The food is very good, we had red curry with pork that comes with a plate of rice. The curry was very good & rich in coconut milk. Lots of pork slices with bell peppers & bamboo shoots. It was total YUM! We had Pad Thai (shrimp) & Pad See Ew (chicken). Great "wok hei" on the noodles, great flavour, I requested for cut fresh chili with fish sauce for the Pad See Ew... it was freshly cut bird eye chili that packed a punch in your taste buds. My friend had stir fry eggplant with chicken, she requested for minimal sauce in her stir fry & they delivered it, she was very pleased & satisfied with her stir fry dish. Service was good, water gets refilled constantly They also have a small convenience stall that carries some Thai products. Great food to be had by all. Go check it out, totally worthwhile!
