Great service, great food and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I think the change is largely due to the owners being more involved in the front of the house. Everything was hot and juicy. The chicken was so crispy on outside yet moist on inside. Sides were great. My husband had the meatloaf dinner and loved it. He also had the Brussels and choose fries instead of my mash. The meatloaf was a generous portion and filled with yummy flavor. Now waiting for dessert to be added to the menu. We drove 20 minutes off the highway based on the high review. Huge disappointment! Our party of 4 each ordered something different. A Basic breakfast, Bannerman bowl, Biscuits and gravy, and 2 egg breakfast. A blueberry pancake was added as a side. Fried eggs were done correctly, but the scrambled were flavorless and overdone. Biscuits were small and chewy. Gravy was Cisco foods gravy with pepper added. The pancake was cold and chewy with literally a handful of blueberries thrown on top!The butter wouldn't melt on it. The order came out really fast- I think everything was premade and reheated except the fried eggs. The grits were good. The locally sourced patty sausage was just OK and way too lean. Is this REALLY the best breakfast in Tallahassee? I pity you. read more

Well I had to scratch the itch? Ma s Diner caught my eye and I had to check it out. Probably one of the worst breakfast I've ever paid for. Overall it was served cold, and the flavors were bland at best. Sorry for such a bad review but I understand they're expanding soon so evidently some people like it? We wont be back when I could have went through a certain drive through in the same lot, spend much less and receive such better product it is a no brainer. I had a breakfast platter that had 2 eggs (I asked for scrambled), a Bradley's sausage patty, biscuit and grits. The eggs were cooked well. The sausage patty was tasty, I only wish that it wasn't paper thin. The biscuit was also good and I was told it was homemade. The grits, however, were a disappointment. They were tasty, but way too soupy. There was nothing creamy about them, as though they had too much water and were not cooked long enough. Cool little place. They have a sign that says "No WiFi Just Hifi". A record player playing albums sits behind the bar. Our server, Stephanie, was as sweet as she could be. The coffee was delicious and I like that they have cute little reusable creamer containers. Now for the bad news... My scrambled eggs were dry, the toast was too toasted and the cheese grits were too thick. Presentation was very Waffle House-esque- Throw it on a plate with no regard for presentation. But its a diner so I guess that's what they're going for. I'm not sure if I'll return. They were quite busy so that's a good sign. Maybe I should give them another try. read more

We ended up at Ma's Diner on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were in the area and Dunkins was closed for remodeling so we figured we would give it a try. We are so happy we did! We were seated right away and immediately noticed how good it smelled in there. We were ready to eat! I ordered the eggs, Bradley's sausage patty and pancakes. To start with the portion was huge! The sausage patty was griddle cooked which gave it a great crust. The eggs were great and pancakes were very good. I was so happy I would be able to take it home and enjoy later as well because the 3 pancakes were very big! My husband decided on a cheeseburger. Like the sausage patty is was cooked on a flat top,which we prefer. He offered me a bite and I quickly realized why he was humming while he was eating it. It was a delicious burger! Total for both of us came in at $29, which is very reasonable. Ma's Diner doesn't have the crazy extensive menu some other breakfast places in the area have, but they do simple food so well! The cutest little Ma Diner hidden between a wing stop and Marcos Pizza. When I entered, the amazing smell of welcome and relax hit my nose. The coffee and breakfast warmed the air. The staff was incredibly kind. The cleanliness was at the highest level. I ordered the Two Egg Breakfast" which came with two eggs (I did sunny side up), choice of meat: bacon, grits or home fries (I did grits), and toast or biscuit (toast for me). All this cost just $8.95. The food came out fast, hot, and just as I ordered it. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. A delightful locally owned place added to our Bradfordville area. It had a comfortable relaxing "retro" feel. Records were playing on a real turntable. It wasn't loud but just the right volume for comfort. At the time they were playing "Boz Skaggs" Kind of took me back to my childhood going to places like this with my dad. He loved local diners. The place was very clean. The staff was very welcoming and social. And the food was delicious and plentiful. Our wonderful waitress Latoya interacted with us ensuring we were well taken care of. I really enjoyed my visit. Blew off a day at work and went to a local dinner. I ordered the Sunryze Breakfast and coffee. I know this is minimal but they have a very readable menu that isn't overwhelming. This was a benefit for me because my eyes were still dilated from an eye appointment. Man, the coffee was delicious and fresh. Service was excellent. Polite, attentive and not overwhelming. This isn't my first visit and it has always been consistent. I do love a loud jovial crowd on football weekends for.breakfast and have been able to experience this there. This morning was very enjoyable by myself. They've done an excellent job with slowly growing their menu to offer a variety of breakfast dishes, soup, salads and handhelds. I'm sure the lunch options are fantastic, too, but today was sadly the first time I had been there and we went for breakfast. The menu is just the right size as they have obviously focused on quality over quantity. Our meals were timely and flavorful. The eggs, no matter how they were prepared, were cooked perfectly. The waffles were fluffy and all ingredients were fresh. All this said, I still can't compliment the diner enough for the superior service and pleasant, helpful staff. I'm sorry to report that we visited yesterday the 8th of March and my wife wanted to know how the chilli was and asked if she could have a small taste before ordering it. They gentleman that sit us was like Nope we only have the small cup sorry can't help you and walked away. I almost got up and left, but my wife was the better person and just ordered something else. If you want to be the neighborhood breakfast/lunch place you have to be more neighborly. I'm hoping if the owner was there it would have been a completely different experience. Dining here was an "ad hoc" decision my work partner and I made after working a nightshift. Ma's Diner opened promptly at 7 am. The nice employee greeted us with a jovial smile which made me feel right at home. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I decided on the 8 oz steak, eggs, grits, and wheat toast. My food came out rather quickly and was pretty tasty. To be honest, this dish brought back memories of me sharing a similar breakfast with my grandmother (as a child).
