We were really excited to learn that this restaurant was reopening. Have been there twice under the new management. Let's start with the positives. Service is fast and portions are generous. Now for the suggestions for improvement. First, it needs a good cleaning. The windows are gross with food stick on them and dirty. The floor needs a good cleaning . Finally it would be nice to eat without having to listen to the yelling coming from the cooking area. Hoping for some improvements because I do like the food. read more

In a rush for dinner, we stopped here before popping over to AMC for a movie night. We were seated within five minutes of arriving. The servers and hostess were all friendly and sweet -- definitely nailed the family diner vibe. Nothing fancy, just classic diner to a T, including all the basics like breakfast platters and club sandwiches. For our entrees, we had the patty melt, which I will order again! Make sure to ask for a side of thousand island dressing as it didn't come on the sandwich. The burger was cooked to our liking, topped with lots of melty swiss and the essential buttery, toasty marble rye. We also split the fish fry, which is a good portion, but I thought the batter lacked flavor, salt and came off too fishy. I did like the coleslaw that came on the side. The unfortunate part of the meal was the fact that we were absolutely freezing cold the whole time. We had to eat with our jackets on because if you're seated next to the window (we were in the back corner booth along the front window), there's a terrible draft. It took away from the experience and forced us to rush in and out of there. Loving this place! i've been wanting to try a new diner cause i'm a huge fan of them and this place is perfect to go to after or before a movie which is right across the street. This diner is very inviting just because it's so cute on the outside and inside. when you first walk in it does seem small cause well it is so if theres a wait just know its worth it. there is a table bar when you first walk in, but also a waitress to seat you at any table if available. while you wait you can look at the menu. we were sat right away with other people ahead of us because we were only two people. We let the waitress know we had a movie to attend in about an hour and she had no problem and glad to help with the rush; so nice to hear! I got the breakfast sandwich with hash browns and have no complaint at all with any of it. it was perfect because it wasn't that greasy if thats what you are looking for. my boyfriend got a special which was the avocado benny, i of course tried it and it was delicious! apparently it was huge hit when we told the cashier when we left. we got our check quick and able to go right to the cashier to pay. can't wait to return! read more

The 50s style diner feel is alive and well at Maa's Diner. Cozy setting with classic breakfast options and a very unique menu of different pancakes. I tried the chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes that would satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. I got the eggs over easy with Polish sausage cut in half and grilled with hash browns. The sausage was juicy and hash was crunchy. The staff was very friendly and even moved our party to a larger table as it was 5 of us and we shared a booth as that was only available until a bigger table opened up. No room to really wait for a table so either you have to wait outside or cram in the entry way which was claustrophobic. That aside, you get a lot of food for low prices. This is a small diner across the street from the AMC theaters in Webster. I stopped in for breakfast this morning and all I can say is .... Wow! Walking in - it doesn't look like much, but as soon as you open the door - everything changes. You are greeted by whoever is behind the counter. Everyone there is really friendly. It looks like they have a lot of regulars, and I can see why. Was in Webster with my mother this afternoon and decided to stop by and get a couple of sandwiches to take home. I got the 1/2 sandwich & soup special for $5.99- the sandwich was HUGE and the turkey was delicious. My mother got a club sandwich and could only eat a 1/4 of it because if its size! This place is a great little diner. My BF and I stumbled across it one day and decided to give it a try. We've been back twice now with my kids, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and each time the waitress (Lisa) remembered us, greeted us warmly, gave my daughter high-fives, and was just super. The food is spot-on, too. The polish sausage on the breakfast menu is fantastic, as is the (clearly-homemade) corned beef hash. The bread they use for toast is thick-cut and delicious. You know how the toast that comes with most diner breakfasts is like an afterthought -- thin, barely toasted, often cold? Not so here. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Even as I was eating my corned beef hash, though, I was eyeing the pancakes at another table, which looked so fluffy that I wanted to lean over and ask the gentlemen for a bite. Next time, I'm trying a pancake, for sure. Our lunch was also really good. I had the Reuben, which was a great choice. More of that thick-cut rye, with tender corned beef and melty gooey cheese and tangy sauerkraut. My kids loved their food (chicken fingers and hamburger, respectively) and the BF's large Greek salad did not disappoint. I'm anxious to come here for a hamburger myself -- the real test, along with eggs, of a good diner -- and also want to check out their fish fry. And their hot turkey sandwich. And pretty much everything else on the menu. I love the atmosphere! This was my first time here and it had a nice vibe, I loved the decor. We were seated very fast which I was surprised because it was so busy which I definitely am not complaining about! My friend had the NY Strip, eggs , and home fries. He ordered his steak MR and although it was cooked more medium it was still delicious. After all, it wasn't overcooked to well done so that's acceptable. This was a fairly quiet place. At first they seemed to be understaffed. A couple groups can in after my wife and I. The waitress did her best job and refilled drinks and asked questions where needed. Resting on top was a big fried dill pickle spear. I was disappointed to find out that the Mac and Cheese was a fist sized, breaded, deep fried mass on top of the burger, which was definitely not illustrated by the description on the menu. It was unbelievably hot, and nearly impossible to eat, but did taste pretty good once I get past the near physical impossibility of the whole thing. This place is right up the road from us so we've been here quite a few times. It's great, fast, and close. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. My daughter loves the soups there. This is a gem of a small family diner in Webster. We walked in 15 minutes before their posted closing, but the waitress was happy to seat us and was very pleasant, cheerful and helpful. I ordered braised sirloin special which looked like a full 16oz prime rib smothered in mushrooms. It came out perfectly prepared and there was no way I could eat that much beef. There was some chewiness to the meat but the flavor was good and the value was undeniable. My wife had a Shepherd's pie special that was well prepared, generous in portion and tasty. Also ended up taking half that home. We were back for breakfast 2 days later and not disappointed with the huge kit-kat pancake (fortunately did not order a double stack-couldn't finish the short stack) or the Omlet special with yummy crispy home fried potatoes that were heads over tails better than Denny's hash browns. I have been to Maa's a couple of times before when they first opened and every trip here keeps getting better. It is home style cooking and it is good. This place sits right across the street from the movie theaters on Empire Blvd. They have a cool, laid back, diner atmosphere, and a menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This time around we hit there about 11:30 a.m. on MLK Day and things were hopping. We got the last table that was left before people had to start waiting. I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently the wait staff turned the tables over. They were getting people fed and out in a professional and organized manor and everybody was happy. My wife and I both opted for a late brunch. She hit them up for the strawberry pancakes that were perfectly cooked and were so big they could have fed half the diner. I went for a omelet with hash browns and a English muffin and I decided to get crazy and try the homemade corn beef hash. Everything was cooked to perfection and the corn beef hash was outstanding. I have been on a bad streak with some bad experiences and Yelp reviews over the last month. I am so glad to be back on track and to give Maa's diner of Webster N.Y. 4 glimmering Yelp stars. read more
