Today was my first time trying Village Bakery, and to be honest it's good. My girlfriend always mentions the tuna melt so we got. It is really good. Balanced flavor and the bread is soft. My only issue is I ordered a Build your own egg sandwich. Sounded good and built one. I ordered a BYO Egg Sandwich. I used Baguette and added another fried egg, cheddar, bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce and pesto. Sounded good. The problem is when I got home and went to eat it I opened the box to an empty baguette with two eggs. That's it. Which sucks because my girlfriend says she never checks because nothings ever wrong. But missing everything is pretty bad. Especially a lot of my add ons are charged add ons. It's a Sunday and they are closed now so just have to take that loss. Sucks. But again that tuna melt is good. And I ordered an iced latte and was pretty good. But wow terrible impression. read more

I was recommended to go here while I was visiting Rochester for work. I will recommend it to others now! It got really busy after I showed up.. but the fresh baked breads looked so good so I bought a loaf of sourdough. I got a breakfast sandwich that was HUGE!! Cute cafe. The pastries were delicious, coffee too. The young lady at the register could have been a little quicker. When I got in line, there was one customer in front of me and no one behind me. She began a REALLY LONG conversation with the lady in front of me. Like "catching up/haven't seen you in a long time/how's the family" type stuff. She stood there talking to her like there was no one else in line. People started coming in. The line grew. Now it's to the door and she's STILL chitchatting! I went to the village bakery in Webster- as the breakfast never disappoints . The sore is open and clean, the choices focused and intentional to offer space for anyone and any dietary needs.. the counter service folks must be trained in hospitality as they are all so friendly. Food was pretty good, some better than others. Macaroon didn't meet even us expectations, and not even close to French standard. Quiche was pretty good, but definitely not the best I've had. Basil chicken sandwich was quite tasty. Also, the almond croissant was pretty close to French standards for just the croissant ... the almond filling was just ok and was a little gritty. Service was so-so ... cashier was pleasant but made a few minor errors, including (after asking twice) if what they had was ice water ... but it wasn't it was luke warm tap water ... fortunately the barista provided a cup with ice when I requested it. Silverware and napkins are available to pick up ... however, even though they deliver food at your table, they don't deliver it with silverware. I thought that was strange. Lastly, and this is quite disappointing ... the quiche was delivered with no garnishments (there should have been at least something to make the presentation nicer, eg a sliced orange or one strawberry or a piece of mesculin lettuce) and very poor presentation, including the crust, which must have broken off, was carelessly placed on top of the quiche. Stopped by Village Bakery in Webster on a Wednesday afternoon around 12:45, and the place was bustling--wonderful to see such energy! I was happy to find they still had their white peppermint mocha available. I ordered mine less sweet, and it was absolutely fantastic. We love this place. Food is always good. It's clean, the servers are very nice and the line moves fast. I brought my grandkids, the baby loved the cake pop. We shared the grilled cheese as the portion is huge. Our only problem was the bees. They are attracted to the sweet drinks. It won't stop us from visiting. read more

Stopped in to meet a friend for coffee. Very spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered an iced matcha and was able to customize it with seasonal gingerbread syrup. You know those convenience store sandwiches that are loaded in the middle and cut in half so that the cross-section looks great, but the rest of the sandwich is just bread? Well didn't expect that here, but I got the B.A.L.T with turkey and it was extremely pathetic. For the price and the 45 minute wait, it's not even close to worth it. We had lunch at your Webster location today [Friday] at around 2:15. It's rare to encounter a person with such an absence of personality as the young woman [black frizzy hair, tattoos] who took our order at the front counter. Nary a smile nor a glimpse of any human connection came from this woman. I spoke to her again when I asked for a take out box, and once again at the bussing area. Trying to make small talk fell on her deaf ears. I can say that there are not many things worse than feeling completely invisible to another person. For Pete's sakes put some people at the front counter who can -- even if they have to fake it-- put out some kind of welcoming smile. "I'm glad you're here, how can I help you", would go a long way. There are many places around here that we could go for a luncheon. You need to make people feel like they matter. read more

Ordered basic breakfast yesterday, eggs, bacon, home fries, toast. Paid extra for 4 eggs and asked for soft bacon. Food came out room temperature, overdone bacon and two eggs. I asked if everything was made to order and was told of course. I also asked for the two additional eggs that I paid for and they were brought to me in less than a minute again at room temperature. Clearly made well in advance and barely eatable. My brother was treating so I didn't want to make a fuss and did my best to pretend that everything was good. Soooooooo slooooooowww... my daughter and I ordered two breakfast items, then proceeded to stand next to the counter for 30 minutes waiting for our food. It appears there are 2 staff members who spend the day swiping back and forth on the iPad behind the counter, while the kitchen is severely understaffed. It's time for a new manager. I can't I haven't left a review for my favorite café. Village Bakery in Pittsford Village is simply an awesome place. Not only because of their baked goods or meal selections, but also because it is a place where you can meet neighbors and make friends. Earlier today, as my friend and were sitting and talking and having coffee and chai, this young man joined our table. We introduced each other, had a great conversation and exchanged contact information ... just like that we made a wonderful friend. Back to the food and the baked goods: great selection even for one on restricted diet. The other day I had arugula salad and it was really good. Their baguettes are the best even what is left for a second day, I do have two wishes. 1. I wish I wouldn't have to wait for breads to come in at 10am - that really doesn't make sense because if you want to have fresh bread for breakfast, it is just not possible. 2. The second wish is unlikely to be realized as I wish Jean Claude, their French Bakery Chef would not have retired. Their Kouige Amanns and almond Croissants are just not the same since he left. read more

I placed my order online for pick up. When you first enter there are decals on the window directing you left or right depending on if you ordered ahead or not Once you go through the right or left doors there really isn't further direction, if you are ordering in person it's pretty obvious to go towards the counter. If you order online you would look for a pick up sign. There is a big sign directly in your line of sight when you walk in that says pick up but that's not for online orders.... online orders are actually tucked immediately to your left on a shelf rack, like opposite way of how the door opens so you wouldn't necessarily see it when you walk through that door. I think they couldn't have placed it better or provided better signage directing you to the correct spot. I waited by the large hanging pick up spot for a while until I asked about my order, plenty of employees were standing there and didn't think to ask me if I needed help which was kind of annoying. I ordered the southwest salad and the cheese danish. The salad comes with the dressing already on it which I do like because I feel like it's fully and evenly covered when they toss is but it's also a lot of dressing now out of hour control, so pros and cons. Overall the salad was good but the danish was way better. The danish was nice and flaky and the cheese filling was really good and creamy. read more

My daughter, granddaughter and I had brunch here recently. The food was good,the coffee great and the service was very friendly. I noticed other patrons enjoying chatting off in another area, some others sitting alone texting and reading emails. The really nice part was that this was an age range from young to very old. I'm a huge fan of this new location! It's so big and bright and beautiful. The space is conducive to working and meetings. There's a lot of seating - primarily tables and bar seating throughout as well. You'll be fueled from coffee to breakfast to lunch. They have all my faves like the farm table salad (add a scoop of tuna!), the Alex and any build-your-own breakfast sandwiches. I'm also a fan of their lemonade or if I need caffeine, I'll get an americano. Snag a baguette on your way out, or my pick, the olive loaf for dinner or to pair with cheese later than night. read more

The new Village Bakery location in Webster is just what the village needed! It's my new go-to for cold brew, freshly baked bread, or breakfast goodies. The house made granola, pastries, and breakfast sammie's are to die for! The Village Bakery is what we've come to expect from the local chain, keeping a similar wide open, bright style of its locations in Pittsford, Eastview, and the TRATA building. They aren't reinventing the trendy coffee shop wheel here, but they don't need to! The bakery has consistently high quality food, drinks, and staffing. It is a great place to grab a quick coffee, or to sit and chat with a friend over light lunch. Family friendly too. The cafe is centrally located just behind the shops on Main St. in Webster, with a nice-sized, easily accessible lot to park. They share a building with Roc and Soul Fitness. Disappointed at the customer service, as we ordered two coffees, waited a long time, as the barista was yelling the wrong name, and only made one drink, as the cashier had apparently only charged for one. By then the line was long and it seems fit that the correct thing to do would be for the barista to make us the missing drink complimentary. read more

It's been a stretch before a Latte and an Egg sandwich augered a lousy side of me. I watched an inexperienced short or server struggle filling orders. Not easy at all for the petite Miss too short to even see what the regular serving dishes had on them. She moved sideways from one ticket to the next and back again. Twenty-five minutes had passed before my plate moved to the pickup table. What a disappointment to then hear of someone else name called. I then froze and waited another ten minutes before the cashier asked if I was being helped. I paused and with unsettling vocals, said my name and complaining asked for another sandwich. The egg is spooned onto the sandwich from a warmer, I guess I thought it would be cooked to order, it takes about 90 seconds to make fresh. It was pretty flavorless. Since Village Bakery is one of my favorites I was delighted to see to see it come to my old stomping grounds in Webster. This location is set up similar to the others, however when I visited on a Saturday early afternoon we were lucky to spot a table. I ordered an ice coffee and oatmeal with berries, which did not fail my expectations. This is such a great space to get work done or meet up with some friends! The only downfall I noticed was the garbage area. For the amount of people and food being served, the garbage area where you set your trays, silverware etc. was kind of a hot mess. They probably need to set up a better system or have an employee keep a closer eye on it. Overall I will definitely be back! read more

I had the Mikayla, which was a poached egg, bacon, and avocado sandwich, and they let me swap out the roll for a biscuit. The egg was cooked perfectly. The Lucy, with sausage, was also delicious. I also had a cup of the cream of mushroom soup, and it was a pretty generous portion. The quiche is also really good, although somewhat small.
