While visiting family in Rochester, my niece mentioned The Waffle Factory as an option for breakfast. It's a house that has been converted into a restaurant. Because of COVID, there was outside seating. I was okay with that. The ordering was swift, but the breakfast took some time to arrive. At least I knew it wasn't microwaved and ready in under 5 minutes. Plus, the texture was not microwaved tough. I had the banana and caramel waffle with scrambled eggs. The waffle came topped with a heaping of bananas and a caramel drizzle, but underneath that the waffle had been drizzled with a glaze that reminded me of cinnamon role glaze. A friend had mixed berry waffle that didn't require syrup because of the cinnamon role glaze. My niece had the moon cakes that were topped with what looked like chocolate and Nutella. I get the hype. I do. Whenever I get back to Rochester, The Waffle Factory will definitely be an option for breakfast. read more

The BEST waffle that I have ever had. I really admire the owner's drive to excel. It is beyond obvious the amount of time he has spent (and spends) cooking to make his already delicious food even more so using only traditional ingredients from Belgium. I also greatly appreciate all of the attention to detail; especially the quality of the fruit even when it's not in season. Thank you. Furthermore, I love that it's a house. It's quaint and brilliant to start small when starting a new venture. All of the staff was kind and gracious. Thank you again. On a separate note...I am utterly disgusted by the amount of negativity and ugliness in some of these reviews. Yes, we are are all entitled to our opinions. However, when you walk through someone else's front door you are entering the heart and soul of them. It is just sad that some have nothing else to do with their time than to just be negative. Awful Owner asked how I like my meal: I said "very good, but a little slow". This was not rude, or an exaggeration It was good, but took 50 minutes to get our order for 5 people. With many empty tables, and two kids waiting, it may even have been generous to say 50 minutes is a "little slow". This comment was too honest for the owner. He preceded to reprimand me, yelling and saying it was my fault for such a large group (of 5!), and told me to leave. He made my 7 year old cry for seeing this foul treatment. Nothing like waffles helping a child lose faith in humanity. I regret eating here. The waitress was nice. I hope she gets the tip we left. The place is small and quaint so I was prepared to have to wait for a table. We were able to sit down right after placing our order. The waffles are SO good!! They are unique. Don't be expecting your run of the mill slightly dry, thick waffle. They aren't your typical waffle. They are caramelized sort of. It doing a little research they seem to be comparable to a Belgian Liege waffle. They serve them 58 different ways; sweet and savory included. You can also get breakfast sandwiches or a more traditional egg and toast breakfast, but I don't know why you would LOL!! So, so good. I see other reviews complaining about the length of time it took to be served. The restaurant was full today. It did not take a long time at all. Let me just start off by saying how amazed I am by the variety....literally there are over 50 different versions to eat your waffle. It was so hard for me to choose! And it's the cutest little spot ever. I got the RASBOREO'S which had generous amounts of raspberries, strawberries, and Oreos on top of a Belgian waffle (which btw was a great size). I added vanilla ice cream and to me, that was such an amazing combo ($10 total, $2 from the ice cream). Pictures don't do it justice, but that waffle was pretty big! It didn't taste too sweet or play-dough like, which I get from some waffle spots unfortunately. But they are definitely doing it right here! My sister got a side of BACON for an additional $2.99. We did not expect anymore than 3 pieces because it be like that these days lol but we actually got a fair amount with a lot of meat (again, pics do not do it justice!). They have a crazy selection of shakes too that are pretty sweet so I recommend sharing. Doesn't feel like a complete visit without getting one to try! BOTTOM LINE is that this place is good and fairly priced for the amount you're getting. I love the set up here where you pay first, then get seated once there's a table open. I was really excited to come here thinking that maybe they'd made some improvements since the last time I came right after they opened. I'm sorry to say nothing has changed. But the food is good. The waffles are very sweet and filling and they have a variety of sweet and savory toppings to choose from. I got the Benedict waffle. The hollandaise is delicious and homemade and eggs were cooked perfectly. The ham is very thinly sliced and would be nice if it was a bit meatier. The fresh squeeze orange juice is great. A cozy house turned restaurant right in the center of the Village of Webster. Menu had a variety of both sweet and savory options. For my first visit, I had to go sweet. I had the #29 - Belgian Bacon Banana. The waffles had a slight crunch without being too dense. The bacon was crispy. The thin slices of bacon added a soft texture to contrast the crisp of the bacon. The fudge was thick and decadent. I didn't even have to add the syrup that came with it because it was in my opinion sweet enough. Any more and it would have been sugar overload. I also tasted the #27 - Maple Bacon. The bacon was crisp with a dusting of powdered sugar and real maple syrup. The gentleman that took our orders was friendly. Found the Waffle Factory by accident while visiting family in the area. I had no idea what to expect when following the gps directions to WF. Everything is made fresh from scratch after you place your order. The menu is displayed on a screen and it contains about 30 different menu options, the counter displaying the specials of the day. My sister ordered the apple pie, my daughter strawbella, my son the chocolate chip and my brother in law the triple berry with eggs, Bacon and sausage. We tried each plate and we could not decide on a favorite as everything was not only presented in a very artistic way, but each dish combination was perfect. No one ingredient overpowered the other. Delicious! Made an impromptu visit to the Waffle Factory today. Their menu offers a huge selection of waffles. I think I saw at least 30 different options available, but really the sky is the limit when it comes to personalizing your own ingredients. We ordered the #12 Apple Pie Waffle. It was crispy perfection and tasted exactly like apple pie. I loved the apple pie topping. It has a fresh and it did not have a canned taste. This waffle was the highlight of our experience. The atmosphere was very friendly and surprisingly welcome. The restaurant has a youthful vibe, not kiddie, but youthfully bohemian. The young man at the checkout area was very kind and accommodating. Each of the servers / staff were also cool. We also ordered a peanut butter milkshake. It was made with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate syrup and whipped cream with chocolate chips on top. It was a great shake! It had a homemade taste, not too sweet or over processed like some of the ice cream joints around town. It, too, was good. I finally visited The Waffle Factory today after wanting to for a while. I first found out about them through Instagram and was instantly enchanted by their fancy waffles! The building is a small-ish blue house that's been remodeled into a restaurant. The seating areas are small but I went on a Saturday at around 12:30 and it wasn't too busy (but I could see how it could get cramped quick during their busier hours). When you walk in you'll see the counter and you place your order and pay there then sit wherever you want. There's an AC unit in one of the sitting sections so I recommend trying to get a table near that on a hot day. The food is then brought out to you. I ordered the S'mores and Cookie Monster waffles ($6 each) with the Happy Birthday milkshake ($8) and my brother got the S'mores and a Peanut Butter Pretzel milkshake ($7). Honestly, the waffles looked great but I was mostly in it for the milkshakes! They are pricier but they're so worth it because they're big and topped with tons of whipped cream and sauce. Your typical hipster milkshake but a lot of fun! They both tasted great. The Birthday Cake had lots of sprinkles and the Peanut Butter Pretzel had a very good, strong peanut butter flavor. I've seen other reviews where some said they felt the waffles were too small for the price, but I think they're decently sized and very filling. I ended up taking the Cookie Monster to go because I was so full from the first waffle and milkshake. They're topped with lots of good stuff, too, so I think they're worth the price. You can also get sides of sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. for cheap. Our bill was $42.11 altogether, but you can easily just go and get a waffle for $4-$7. I really enjoyed The Waffle Factory and I will definitely be back to try more waffles and milkshakes! A few more notes: - We bought water bottles for $1 because we didn't realize there was a free water canteen to the right of the registers. Gauging from the people around us who ordered eggs, I think you need to stick to ordering just the waffle to get the most out of your experience. The eggs didn't look like their specialty. But we loved our waffles with the fun toppings. I got the baklawaf and my boyfriend got the turtle waffle. There's a lot of toppings. Syrup is extra, but I didn't feel it was necessary given that my waffle was covered in sweet honey. They have a menu of pre selected combos for waffles and toppings or you can choose from a long list of toppings and make your own combination. The waffle combos are over the top. I would suggest not going heavy on the toppings because the waffle itself is good. I got a combo with Nutella and bananas and it was way sweeter than I imagined. I had to scrape most of the nutella off. They have a bunch of a la carte options that were bigger than expected to add to your meal. Things like eggs for a dollar or other side dishes. They give you a small pile of bacon when you order it. They have a machine that freshly squeezes your orange juice for you. I haven't seen something like that before. One friend recently described this place as her "most favorite place on earth", and that definitely seems fitting. I stopped in here with my teen daughter after a baseball game in Webster right before they closed for the afternoon, and they graciously served us without any hint that we might be cramming their style or schedule. Several things struck me as exceptional here: amazing variety of choices, top notch ingredients, super friendly service. The portion sizes were perfect and the flavor was way beyond at 5 star rating. The menu is extensive, it's mostly sweet options with a few savory options like waffle benedict and bacon etc. Perhaps I should have tried a sweet waffle instead of the lox benedict special, but I was unimpressed, both in the waffle and the egg benedict itself. I expected the waffle to be thicker...and bigger, but it was neither. The waffle itself is mildly sweet, but yeah...just not what I expected. The eggs were not cooked well at all. They were overcooked so the yolk was not runny. The hollandaise was flavorless, and there was barely any salmon, so I didn't really taste it. It also came out really fast....accompanying the dish was a pointless cup of fruit, which really doesn't go well with what I ordered. It felt like a space filler to justify for the $12 dish....also the blueberries were clearly frozen and not thawed very well. They have it set up where you order at the counter, find a seat (hopefully) and then they bring your order out to you. I would recommend visiting on a nicer day if possible because they do have extra seating outside. They serve authentic Belgium style waffles (yum!) with an extensive menu of waffles with toppings. If you don't like any of their menu item combinations or just want to create your own you can definitely do so! If you're not a huge fan of waffles they also have eggs, bacon and sausage. Their newest menu additions include ice cream and milkshakes, which are also beyond Instagram worthy. Overall the food here is delicious and certainly something worth experiencing. If you do choose to visit do not be surprised if you have to wait a while for a table. I came here with some friends and their little ones for a delicious dinner. We came as soon as they opened as it is very small in there and we needed to be able to fit 7 of us. As a couple of us looked at the menu the others found some table space we can push together to ensure we all sat together. You order at the counter and then the staff will bring your food to you and clear the table as well. My husband got the original and I got the chocolate chip. The waffles were delicious! There is no doubt about that and this is such an awesome concept but it was just too much for me. I have been told recently that the menu has been expanded to include more breakfast options that aren't waffles (eggs and sides) and that sounds like it would be perfect for me. The waffle was just so heavy and made me feel sick to my stomach. I also left wishing I had something else to eat. I wanted real food for a meal and that just hadn't happened here, I felt like I ate an entire sheet of cake for dinner. Knowing the menu has been expended, I would try it here again, but honestly there are so many amazing restaurants in Rochester that if I want a meal and I am going to go out to pay for it, I would probably pick elsewhere.
