I settled…read moreon the company I had dealt with annually for over a decade thinking our relationship would assure me of a good job. In this world of so many scammers, it is very difficult to find an honest company, let alone one that does excellent work as well. Thanks to the recent historic storms, I developed what I thought were roof leaks. I have since learned that this was caused by ice dams, a very rare event in the south. When I contacted the company that installed my new roof they refused to come out. They said "Let the sun melt it and you'll be fine." So, I thought "They must know what they are talking about." I'm not a roofer and though that didn't fit with my common sense, what could I do? Plus, I had paid for an extra long, extra comprehensive warranty at the time the new roof was installed. I posted about my experience on social media and was contacted by Luke from Old Timers Roofing who advised I should take care of it now to prevent more damage, and that they did that kind of work. I'm always leery of someone who contacts me through social media saying "I can fix that" because you never know if they are the real thing or just someone trying to earn a quick buck who really doesn't have the experience and knowledge. I researched the BBB and several other sources that rated them highly. So I decided to give them a chance. Luke informed me that most warranties would not cover ice damage because it was so rare in the south. Strange that my old company didn't mention that but when I called them back they said Luke was right. Luke referred me to the owner, Josh, who immediately sent out TJ to break up the ice dams. All three assured me my roof would be fine but, if I hadn't cleared the ice dams, I could have had serious damage. I couldn't believe someone would even come out in this weather. I feel much better knowing that as a result of their efforts, I won't have more damage. TJ also recommended I have a water mitigation company check for damage though he thought mine was probably slight. I appreciated that advice as this was all new to me. As someone who is not wealthy, I was very concerned about the cost for Old Timers to break up the ice dams but knew it had to be taken care of to avoid even more expensive repairs down the road. I was stunned when Josh refused payment. My only regret is that I didn't hire them to put on the new roof. I always have my roof inspected three times a year to identify problems before they become serious. Despite having a warranty I will now be using Old Timers Roofing as I have lost confidence in the company who put on my new roof. I had been their customer for over a decade. I highly recommend you contact Old Timers Roofing for any roofing needs. They have shown themselves to truly have "Old Timers" values of honesty, hard work and knowledge. I doubt you can find a better roofing company. Thank you Josh, Luke and TJ! God bless you and keep you safe! UPDATE: A month later I had the company that installed the roof to check it, once all snow and ice were gone. Thanks to TJ's work I had NO ice damage, nor water issues inside. I had never filed a claim with my insurer and I was not sure what the process was or how I would get my roof fixed. Your company came recommended from a co-worker and I'm really glad I called you guys. From the moment I called the customer service was 5-Star all the way. Bryon was my service rep and he represented your brand to the highest every time he came by. He initially came out and checked my roof, attic, ceilings, etc. and then he came back the very next day and met with my insurance adjuster to ensure I got a fair review. Once approved, he took the time to go over several samples, colors, and options available to me. He's a friend now and he's welcome to stop by anytime lol. Dave was my on-site rep the day of the roof installation and he and his team showed up on time ready to go to work. When I got home I had a new roof, my driveway was clear and there was not a nail in sight. They did an awesome job. He notified me as needed throughout the day of their progress and I didn't have a thing to worry about. Lastly, Alexis was the voice over the phone that called me and provided updates and confirmations throughout my service. I really appreciated how she stayed on top of everything. It helped confirm that I had chosen a great company. Jordan, I never got to meet you officially, but as a prior serviceman I can say that you have surrounded yourself by a good team and we both know that that's what needed to accomplish any mission.     Update: July 7th. Although I'm undecided on the company I…read morewill move forward with - After I posted this review, The roof expert personally contacted me and apologized in detail. He accepted full responsibility for the missed follow-up, explaining in detail about the disconnect and how he understood how it was perceived. I appreciate that he owned the mistake without making excuses. He explained how exceeding expectations & their reputation are a major part of the RM brand. He did request to earn my business. My original review reflected my experience at the time it was written. While the communication breakdown was frustrating, I also believe it's fair to acknowledge when a company responds professionally and takes accountability. I have updated my review to reflect the complete experience. Original post July 6th I submitted an online inquiry and never received a response. A week later, I emailed and was told they had not received my original inquiry. The inspector arrived early, and the inspection itself was thorough. He took the time to explain the roof, gutters, attic conditions, attic fans, and other findings. I was told the remaining information would be documented after confirming the shingle information with the office. The next morning, I received three photos and was asked about my availability to sign the AOI. I replied that I was flexible. I was told I would receive a call later that day after other appointments. I never received a call, text, or email. As of Monday evening, there has still been no follow-up. While I appreciated the thorough inspection, the lack of communication and failure to follow through on promised updates made it difficult for me to move forward.

    I currently have a significant roof leak in my home which recently led to substantial--10 or more…read moregallons--of water penetration into my guest bedrrom. I work in property management and know all too well how difficult and frustrating it can be to identify the cause/source of a leak. I have spoken with several folks in their office over the past couple days, including the office manager and multiple technicians. Today one of the techinicans--Tucker--visited the property twice, including once with the owner of the company, to help me identify both obvious and easy to overlook, areas of concern that would otherwise be very hard to detect. Meeting with Tucker and Luke today made me feel much more at ease. I'm very confident that if something unexpected comes up before the permanent repairs occur, they'll be on top of it. I can't tell you how impressed I have been over the past couple days with their communication/responsiveness, attention to my issue, respect for my home, and their overall service, including making temporary repairs until the permanent repairs can take place next week. If I call or text them, they either answer the phone or return my message within 10-15 minutes. I'm sure this a small job for them in terms of profit, but it's a big deal to me, and they have treated it that way, and I am very thankful for that.
