The grounds are kept pristine, I always see someone working on the property doing something, whether it's cleaning out the walkways for the spring, touching up the landscaping (which is very beautiful) maintaining the parking lot, or cleaning the pool. It's clear management cares very much not just for the property for the tenants too. I've been checked in on several times since I have moved in. Leasing was very helpful getting me situated since I was moving for work it was a very stressful time trying to arrange everything, and this was one less thing I had to worry about in the process. I only ever had one small maintenance issue and it was addressed the next day. A definite recommend.

A two bedroom, 2 bath in Christopher Wren is $1200/month. Here, its $1590 (+ gas, electric, water & sewage, which they estimate at about $250). Both apartments have the exact same amenities: new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, and (in-unit) washer & dryer. Here, the washer and dryer are one unit, the dryer being above the washer. I used to sell major appliances for Sears. These rarely sold, and frequently were returned, because they just didn't clean/dry well, and the (top loader) washer door barely opened because of the dryer. The dryer was too high for short/petite people, and you couldn't see inside well to be sure no laundry was left behind. Christopher Wren has big, energy efficient, front-load washers & dryers in a bigger laundry room with more storage. Additionally, Christopher Wren's bathrooms both have full tubs. Here, one bathroom has a stall shower, which you have to walk through to reach the walk in closet. Not so at Christopher Wren. I called and set an appointment. I arrived early, walking around to find the rental office. I called (Cara), only to find out they have another apartment building located in Baldwin with the same name. When I booked the appointment, she didn't ask me which location I wanted. She apologized, borrowed her sister's car and drive right over to meet me. The down side is they are across the street from St. Ann's R C. school, which, when they hold their week-long annual carnival, you'll get lots if noise and traffic. The other negative is the view. One side overlooks St. Ann's cemetery. On the plus side, at least you'll have quiet "neighbors"...

We knew this was a dog-friendly complex and so expected the usual dog bark here and there, instead, we were faced with daily and constant dog barking, scratching and yelping from many dogs around the complex. Complaints about noise in the corridors are heard between tenants. They have a system to deal with those dog owners that leave their dogs poop on the grounds, and yet I have seen poop along the walking grounds, even inside the building along the corridors. We are also very dissatisfied with the new package system the management has implemented, often packages are not reported/scanned in correctly, and sometimes our mail is not delivered on time due to problems receiving the access code required to enter the mail room near the leasing office. Its a hassle. Its unfortunate our stay was cut short because of the reasons stated above, we were hoping this was going to be a much more peaceful apt complex considering the rental rates.

I was going to just finish out my time here and just be DONE with this horrendous place, but I…read morerealized I would have liked somebody to warn me before renting here, so consider this your warning if you're presently considering... This place is garbage. To give a quick list of issues: 1. RATS. You will see them almost every time you walk outside. In fact, if you park on Anderson, you will often see them scurrying in and around the trash, in an alarming number. There was one week where no less than FIVE dead rats were within three yards of the back door. 2. TRASH. The street where you'll need to park is lined with it. If you park parallel to the building, you will often be stepping out into it. 3. SMELL. The hallways smell terrible. Smoke, weed, sweat, sometimes even pee. It's an ancient building that has never been 100% properly maintained. It smells like years of decay adding slowly up, hidden under layers and layers of paint and carpet. Sometimes it seeps into your apartment. I hold my breath every time I walk down the hallway. 4. SHOWER. An annoying issue. The water never stays at a constant temperature. I've been literally scalded (to the point my upper back was red) and then had a blast of arctic temperature water come roaring out seconds after. This happens at least once a shower. Sometimes it doesn't fade and you need to literally jump out to turn it off. 5. APARTMENT CLEANLINESS. It's just gross, dude. You walk in on day one and your apartment has clearly never been actively cared for by the management company. Splattering on the kitchen walls. Scratches on the cabinets. Decay in some areas of the floors, especially around the dusty, ancient heaters. Any paint on the walls is just layered year after year, often times the walls were clearly not cleaned before painting. It's clear they've always just skated by with the bare minimum, and it's starting to add up. 6. NOTHING IS UPDATED. This isn't a huge one, but it continues in the same vein of not giving a crap about the quality of product Mozart is providing. The kitchens are gross. The bathroom is equally dismal. The door locks all around the building are always troublesome. 7. MAIL. Oh boy. This is a big one. I have all of my packages sent to a friends house. Mail is just strewn about the lobby with no rhyme or reason, often not getting sorted for hours or days. Packages will often be found sitting outside in the entry way, easily accessible to anyone passing by. After I lost one in the first month, I knew I was playing with fire. 8. PETS. If you have a pet, especially a dog, do NOT live here. With all the garbage and rats, most of your walk is spent trying to keep them away from stuff that can get them sick. On top of that, there are NO garbage cans you can use anywhere in a four block radius of the building. There was a trash can on Alderson that residents were using since it was easily accessible and cleaned out on a weekly basis, but a maintenance man threw a fit at me for using it and proceeded to cuss me out. He threw the whole can out and made a whole scene, because heaven forbid Mozart make there residents lives 5% better and easier. The garbage room is very hard to access, especially with a dog in toe, and a bag of poop, so expect an uptick of people just throwing their dogs crap on Alderson. One more thing to look forward to for future residents! RENT ANYWHERE ELSE. In fact, RENT WITH ANY OTHER MANAGEMENT COMPANY. It's clear from my experience that Mozart doesn't care about their residents, and they certainly don't care about the quality of their buildings and apartments. I hope this stops someone from making the bad decision I made.

Attack Pit Bulls are allowed in these Apartments! BEWARE!!!…read moreAlthough the lease clearly states that aggressive breeds including PitBulls, Rotweilers, Chows and German Shepherds are restricted, our sweet, gentle, loving Golden Retriever was attacked in the common area! The Pitbull lunged and clamped his jaw on the golden's ear and would not let go. We were afraid his entire ear was going to be bitten off. He was crying out in pain a horrifying sound! He would not release with his owner trying to get his jaws off the ear. The owner's dog bit the owner as well when he unclamped and then clamped down again. Both our dog and the owners hand was bit and bloodied! Spent 7 hours Sunday night at the AVET animal urgent care hospital where pup was given stitches and medication. It was TRAUMATIC for both the dog and the owner to go through such a horrific experience. It was brought to the attention of Hot Metal Flats Mgmt. Monday morning. We were told that it would be a difficult conversation with the Pitbull owner - but they would be given the option to either remove/ re-home the Pitbull OR they would have to move. They informed us they were able to move in with the dog because they lied and listed the Pitbull as a "Terrier"! We thought the situation was resolved. That did not happen! . Waited 4 days for and was notified that "the President" of the company had decided to amend the restricted pet rule of the lease we signed - and the Pitbull would remain at Hot Metal! Certainly all of the other resident pet owners would like to know this information, and they should be made aware. They signed the same lease that we did - that this was a safe place to live and aggressive dog breeds were restricted. If this was a smaller dog or even worse a small child, this vicious Pitbull may have seriously injured or even killed someone! This company is aware they have a vicious Pitbull that attacked and they have chosen to allow it to remain!!! We are looking for a new place to live as soon as possible! How can they possibly jeopardize the safety of the residents and their pets! Do NOT consider moving here if you want to keep your dog safe! See pics of our poor golden - bloodied after the attack heading up the elevator - and after stitches and with a cone on this head. He will never feel safe around other dogs thanks to this vicious Pitbull. They would not even give us the Pitbull owners name. It is all about protecting them! The owner took zero responsibility - no apology - no offer to pay for the Vet bill - nothing! A horrible selfish person. Clearly an apartment management that has no ethics or caring to do the right thing! Sadly, it's just a matter of time beforeomeone else WILL get hurt and they are going to be liable. If your dog gets bitten - contact us and we will support you. They are knowledgable and responsible! We are hopeful this posting will save another dog from injury and from going through such a traumatic experience.
