With all the places available to eat in Patchogue This place is phenomenal. On Thursdays they have a Corned beef dinner special that is amazing. Their egg sandwiches are reasonably priced and everything they serve is hot fresh and seasoned to perfection. The service is great and the owners are good people who know food. I called around 1:30 PM to place an order for three sandwiches, a macaroni salad, and mayonnaise on the side. They close at 3:00 PM, so there was plenty of time to prepare the order. The person who answered the phone was not particularly friendly, which was disappointing from the start. I arrived before closing and, while sitting in my car, checked the order and realized the mayonnaise was missing. I went back inside to ask for it. When I got home--less than five minutes away--I realized the macaroni salad was also missing. I called the deli and asked about it. When I asked if I had been charged for it, I was told, "If it wasn't on the receipt, we didn't charge you." That completely missed the point. I had ordered the macaroni salad and needed it. At no point was I offered the option to come back and pick it up or given any effort to make the situation right. Then, while looking over the receipt, I noticed that one of the sandwiches also did not have the cheese I had specifically ordered. At that point, I had to go to my local grocery store and buy sliced cheese to fix the sandwich myself. So, in one order, I was missing the mayonnaise, missing the macaroni salad, and missing an ingredient I had specifically ordered on one of the sandwiches. More frustrating than the mistakes was the lack of customer service when I called to address them. I understand that mistakes happen, but how a business handles those mistakes matters. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating from beginning to end. These are new owners, and based on this experience, I won't be going back.
