I recently visited the MAC store at Fashion Valley Mall for a complimentary eye makeup appointment and was disappointed with the experience. After the service began, I was informed of a required $60 purchase and directed to a sign outlining the policy. This requirement was not disclosed when I booked the appointment, leaving me feeling pressured to purchase products I did not intend to buy in order to continue the service. I later noticed a sign outside offering a complimentary service, but this was never mentioned to me. When I attempted to address the issue, I was informed that a refund was not available and was offered only an exchange or store credit. Given the lack of prior disclosure, I do not find this resolution acceptable. Had I been informed of the purchase requirement in advance, I would have chosen another retailer offering similar services without an unexpected purchase obligation. Due to the lack of transparency and the pressure to make an unplanned purchase, I respectfully request a full refund to my original form of payment. It's been years since I have used MAC makeup. Decided to give it another try when I saw how pretty my cousins lipstick looked on her. Aly was the one who helped me. She was extremely busy but managed to get my requests done, match my colors and point me in the right direction for lipstick that I was looking for. There were only two staff there and only 1 was able to use the cash register so there were people waiting around. Went to Mac for the match event.. Was the seventh person in line right when they opened. Was greeted as soon as we walked inside. Aly was the makeup artist who assisted us, she was amazing. The store got very busy very quickly and Aly and her other teammate worked the room, and all the customers inside effortlessly. For there to have been so many people there and just two of them, they did great, they were able to assist us & others in a timely manner. My mom, my sister & I got matched with our color, Aly was very patient and informative. Although she did have to leave in between assisting us to assist with others she always checked back and let us know that she was still working with us, but she also had to work the room. We left out with not only samples that matched our skin perfectly, but also a few lighter samples just in case and some serum samples. I had a very concerning experience at this store. An associate added an item to my purchase without my consent, and I was later denied a return based on a policy that was never disclosed at the time of purchase. I was told I could not return my items because I didn't bring back a "free gift," even though there is no such disclaimer on the receipt or website. When I asked where this policy was stated, the supervisor admitted it wasn't disclosed and said it didn't matter because she was telling me after the fact. This is deceptive and fraudulent behavior. If you shop here, check your receipt carefully and get everything in writing. If you experience something similar, I strongly recommend disputing the charge with your credit card company and filing complaints with the BBB and consumer protection agencies. Consumers should not be subjected to undisclosed and retroactive policies. Update: Filed BBB complaint, received a resolution and apology from ELC (MAC) corporate in less than 24hrs. read more

They would just need to look up your purchase on your account. I don't know why this store is the only one with this policy but I spoke to corporate and they verified that you do not need a physical receipt to make a return. Ally was fantastic. Not only did she upsell me with no problem at all but seriously, she offered me a lot of great suggestions and a lot of good ideas. She was very friendly and helpful. She operated with such professionalism. We talked, of course about make up an application and different textures and finishes in products that we use but also we talked about Nails. That is another thing that I have a passion for. We had a great conversation, and although I was spending money left and right, it was worth it for the experience that I had and shared with her. The store was a bit chaotic. There were a number of people needing help, but they're also a number of people who were helping customers by doing make up application whom I have a feeling customers looked at and didn't realize that they were busy and in the middle of helping a client. I went in to get my makeup done for a prom-themed party and was greeted by Frankee. I let her know I had an appointment, and she seated me right away. She explained that she would be doing my makeup but might need to step away occasionally to assist other customers as they came in. To be honest, I truly applaud these ladies for the way they run this store. There were only two of them working at the time, as the third was out to lunch, yet they managed everything seamlessly -- doing makeup, color matching, assisting and greeting customers, and ringing them up. All while maintaining a high-energy, upbeat, and positive attitude. I gave Frankee an inspiration picture, and she did not disappoint! I was thrilled with my final look -- so glamorous! This review is very long overdue, but absolutely necessary. Back on August 23, 2025, I went to the MAC Cosmetics store at Cerritos Mall with my mom to get our makeup done for my niece's wedding. The manager did our makeup, and I truly wish I remembered her name because she deserves all the recognition. I really hope she reads this and knows this review is for her. She did a phenomenal job on both of us, our makeup was absolutely flawless. From start to finish, everything looked beautiful, professional, and perfectly tailored to us. We were so impressed that we ended up purchasing every single product she used. It was just that good. Since this is a store, we completely understood that she had to help other customers while doing our makeup. Luckily, we went right when the store opened, so there were minimal interruptions. I'm a makeup girly, so I already knew how that works and it didn't bother me at all. Timing is really everything. We went early, left with plenty of time, went home, got ready, and made it to the wedding stress-free and feeling confident and beautiful.
