I've never had to make an appointment, but I do recommend making an appointment for make-up as I've gone in for a walk-in and there's been no appointments available. The store is always clean. Honestly, I was not planning on buying any make up OR getting a makeover, but after I decided to stop in I ended up doing all of the above. So after catching a glimpse of myself walking through the mall, when I saw Mac I couldn't help but think, "for the love of God, please let them have some serious concealer, so I can stop looking like a Mombie!!!" An associate quickly identified me as someone who has absolutely no idea what they are doing with makeup, and my Mac journey began. The associate took her time applying a full face of makeup. I had an appointment last Sunday at Estée Lauder in Macy's Pembroke Pines, Fl. at 11:00am to have my make up done. When I arrived at the counter, the attendant told me that she was by herself, that she should not have been in that early and that she could not do my make up. The make up appointment was for my bridal shower. I explained this to the Estée Lauder attendant. She apologized but said she could not assist me. My friend went over to MAC. Precious the attendant was also alone. We explained my predicament. Precious told us that I could come back at noon as a walk in. We did and Precious not only accommodated me but was pleasant professional and my make up was perfect. Thank You Precious for going above and beyond to make my day special. read more

Came into the M.A.C. store inside the Pembroke Lakes Mall to get a lipstick and eyeshadow for myself. The small store was filled with a variety of make-up products for the lips, eyes, and face; as well as brushes & tools (palettes, applicators, containers, and accessories). While looking around, I was approached by a friendly employee who helped me find the right color of lipstick and eyeshadow that complemented my skin tone, and she was very knowledgeable about the products too. Treat others like you would want them to treat you. This is like a golden phrase but too many people haven't learned to apply these principles. I drop in every season to get matched up for foundation. Really strange, but for the past year I have been having changes in my skin - oily to dry and then of course a little darker in the summer months. Don't expect to be greeted when you come in. Just let that go. There are busy helping customers or working on correcting an issue a previous customer caused. If you get a welcome the place must be dead. I use to say the techs were well trained now I have to back up from that statement. They are great with trending items and looks but not so much on the everyday natural wear. I know MAC offers training classes for its employees. Maybe techs should be taking refresher courses. I don't see the need to want to cake every person up. But of course this is great for prom, weddings, and big events where you'll be taking many pictures. Back to customer service... when I have pleasant service everything is awesome. When the service seems cold and/or distant - I'm nosy - so I ask, "how are you?" That normally opens the flood gates to rant about a previous customer and/or a day of difficulty. Makes sense - but if I didn't cause you the issue - I shouldn't be getting the blunt of your apathy. Let that ish go and keep it moving. People buying in store are giving up time and money (I regularly find lipsticks $7 cheaper online) for your service. This places varies between a 3 to 4. read more

Just had my makeup done at Mac for my maternity shoot and had the pleasure of having Steven do my makeup. I must admit, I went in a little nervous seeing that they don't charge for their makeovers. I was totally impressed! Steven was extremely personable and knowledgeable. There was no pressure to purchase anything and although he had to attend to other customers while working with me, he was able to multitask and manage the store and do an amazing job on my makeup. I walked into MAC inside of Macy's Pembroke Lakes Mall and was immediately acknowledged by Maddie. She was super sweet and helpful in finding the perfect shade in the Studio Fix Fluid foundation as well as the Studio Fix Powder. She made sure the shade matched in all the different lighting so I could go home a happy client (since I've been sent home before with the wrong shade). I had a horrible experience the day of my baby shower. I had called and made an appointment weeks in advance and the girl I spoke to clearly told me to be there at 10am when the store opened since my baby shower was at 1pm. I even called 2 days before to confirm. The day of, I get there and there's only one artist who was opening the store. She told me I didn't have an appointment there that it must be at the actual Macy's store. She had a nasty attitude and was doing her own makeup while she told me she was there alone so she couldn't do my makeup. I walked all the way to Macy's (8 months pregnant and short of breath), when I get there they tell me that there's no way I had a 10am appointment because they open at 10 and they never make appts at that time. I panicked because my baby shower was at 1pm and I still needed to do some final prep before my guests showed up at the venue. I begged them to please squeeze me in, I even showed them my call log in my phone where I had called to confirm 2 days prior and they turned me down, said there was nothing that they could do. I was so upset I started crying because I was on a time crunch and not to mention my pregnancy hormones. They had no compassion for me nor did they try to do anything to help me. I had to go find another counter to do my makeup and luckily a really nice girl from Lancôme offered to do it for me. In the end I was glad I went with her because she did a great job. But I'm very disappointed in Mac and I will never buy anything or do my makeup at that location. read more

I love MAC lip sticks and thought I would try buying in store vs usually purchasing online. Big mistake the employees ignore you and push right on by. So I thought okay maybe it's me ... I told my sister who was also with me to go and see if anyone would help her. Of course like I thought nobody did. It's really frustrating when theirs a tiny display of lipsticks that one person at a time really can access. I spend a great amount of money on their products yet the company I GUESS can't spend time training the employees on customer service and quality. Wow is all I have to say!! MAC at Pembroke Lakes is amazing because of Star. First she was so sweet and kind to everyone who came up to her and as soon as I walked up she greeted me. I told her I was just looking for a lipstick and I left with a full face look. I've been shopping at other makeup places for years to include other MAC stores but was never really satisfied due to bad customer service. The worst MAC store!.. I even gave this particular store a second try. My first visit was not that great, but I thought ok maybe it's just a one time thing. But same thing again when I revisited this store for the second time with my friend... no one greeted us and just ignored us.. two employees were behind the counter talking and one of the employee had her back turned fixing the lipsticks and I asked her about the Mac for trade and she just points and said right here... but doesn't move away for me to pick my shades. I didn't have a lot of time to look around so I gave the artist a list of products I normally use. She then gave recommendations to enhance the look I was going for and I bought all of it lol! The artists seem great when they are working on an individual client, but when it comes to walk in customer service this location is seriously lacking. They can't handle a high volume amount of people and some of the associates are rude. If Mac wants to compete with other makeup brands then they should at least hire people with basic elementary customer service skills. read more

I had the best experience in the world on Tuesday, 8/22 at 4:00PM at the MAC in Macy's!! My makeup artist was Michelle and she really made me feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. She gave me a really great look with little to no direction from me. I received so many compliments at the concert. As she applied makeup to my face (flawlessly, of course) she filled me in on so much beauty secrets. I think she is a Tier 2 makeup artist, if I'm not mistaken, but she definitely deserves to be on the highest tier possible. She was fun and she reminded why I love makeup. She was honest and patient, those are qualities that you don't often find in stores like that. She is definitely a gem and an asset to the MAC family. I could go on and on about how great she was to me but I would rather show it by continuing to go to her to get my makeup done. As an FYI, I am referring to the MAC located in the Macy's store. I did not catch the manager's name that was working that day but she was nice as well. I think you guys have a great team with MAC at Macy's store. I really hope you see this, Michelle.
