The remodeled shopping center looks great. Visually lots of upgrades and some much needed stores. The grocery store is particularly appreciated for nearby residents. I know certain neighborhoods can become food deserts where fast food junk is the only option. Security guards are around which is great. I've never had any issues with my cars while parked and at Bingo but I know a friend who has. I'm convinced it has to do with his fancy flashy car - a Camaro - it is just asking for attention. Sometimes attention can be good. Sometimes attention can be bad. Under some circumstances its best to be invisible. I think there is a Ross and a Devita blood dialysis place there. All places that are great to have in a mostly residential neighborhood.

I used to shop at the various stores here on a regular basis without any problem. Being an older…read moredisabled person it takes me longer to do my shopping and I often have to take breaks in my vehicle between visiting the different stores. This hadn't been a problem in the past. However, recently the property management has taken a turn for the worse with parking enforcement now routinely banging on my vehicle and telling me there's a 2 hour time limit, even though there are no signs posted saying such. I do drive a larger vehicle because my disability requires me to lay down and take a break when needed. This may be the reason I'm targeted, because I might appear outwardly to be a financially struggling "homeless" person. I've seen numerous other "regular" looking vehicles parked for hours on end and they aren't subjected to the same harassment. It's a shame because I used to shop here frequently - even if it took me half a day to get all my shopping done. I guess they're harassment tactics and targeting of those who appeared to be financially disadvantaged is designed to help them reach some appearance proper middle class social status. And though my inclination is probably what they want, to just take my business elsewhere, I think I may still come here to shop while putting my disabled placard in the window and letting them knock their knuckles to their hearts content.

I come here mainly for clothes, they also sized my watches for me very quickly. Lots of folks are in the jewelry sections here when I come. There's also a Fitness Center here along with FoodMaxx. As you can see my piercings are uneven. When I brought this to the guy's attention he began yelling at me and stating he can take the piercing out, all while he was trying to aggressively grab the jewelry out of my ear. The service I received was not professional and I do not recommend anyone else goes here to get any piercings done.

There's variety of tenants, such as: - CVS - Peets Coffee - UPS - Lincoln Sq Liquors - Jamba, Red Boy Pizza, and a Chinese Restaurant - dry cleaners, dentist, and salon The upper level has lots of outdoor seating and tables. Nice ramp for people who don't like stairs. This shopping center has a roving security guard. I know this because I was parked next to his car. He gets out at the top of the hour, walks around, than gets back in his car. I guess he watches the whole place from inside his car. I think i will come back and visit the CVS when it's not raining.

Update: after coming to the Village Shopping Center additional times since my above comment had been notarized, there are days or perhaps certain times of the day where the parking lot appears empty and it is easy to find parking, while on the majority of times / days I have been - they are usually packed with hardly any parking avail. Sometimes I have been lucky to snag a spot where someone was just about to back out. The spaces are kind of tight and narrow pathways, drive slowly! There are a lot of businesses that have remained here since I was a child and student at CVHS. Lots of new fronts and name changes to others. I haven't taken a stroll around the entire center, but there's a drug store, ice cream parlor, discounted home goods, apparel stores, fitness businesses, specialty goods and boutiques, bakeries, coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, the bowling alley is still here, nail salons, juicers, and more. Since its the holiday time, they had a tree lighting ceremony advertised. I thought that was a nice community event that might bring people and families together, though I questioned where the tree was going to be due to the tight space. I would want this center to continue to have a lot of business - good businesses here. I want to see CV's downtown area become an area that I would like to frequent or go to vs. driving to Danville or Walnut Creek or San Ramon. I hope there would be ways to create more parking around the area while increasing the businesses or being strategic in which new businesses should open to create a thriving atmosphere.
