Been coming here for years. Honestly the only reason I come is that it is cheap and a mile from my house. SEVERAL issues with this place: * Every time it rains the roof leaks and they put buckets down. Uh, how about fixing the roof?? * Many machines are broken. One elliptical machine has been out of order since March 2023 ( it is now February 2024!) and indeed ALL their ellipticals need servicing. Actually, at this point they are all over 20 years old. MAC needs to invest in BRAND NEW Precor (NOT some off brand!!) ellipticals! * The place is DIRTY. Dust accumulates so bad it grows into the size of a Tumbleweed! There is always dirt on the locker room floor and the shower stalls need bleached more often. * GNATS. Ever since I have been here there are GNATS in the showers! At least there is no daily bag limit. * Useless sinks in the locker room. Motion activated taps with cold water. Useless for shaving. * Many lockers torn up and de-laminating with edge banding coming off. * They cater to the Ladies. Several classes for them and a separate side for women. Really just trying to be helpful and give a few subtle hints. They LOVE IT when you leave positive reviews but not so much when you point out the shortcomings!! read more

We joined those gym because it was to suppose to be $50 a month for the both of us to join. Every other month they take out $100 or more. Because we don't know when they are going to take it out we get overdraft fees. Don't join this gym. If you are not already in shape or way less than 150 lbs people stare at you or whisper about you. I've been going to MAC for years and years and have always had a great experience. The staff and instructors are super friendly and I rarely have issues finding a treadmill or weight rack to use (aside from the New Years Resolution rush in January). It's a super affordable option for those of us who want a little bit of everything and don't just want to commit to paying $100 to a yoga studio or crossfit gym. My only slight issue with my years of being a member is how often the group class schedule rotates. I'm always hesitant to get attached to a class because they often switch them around to accommodate new classes. This is great for variety, and I understand they make changes based on attendance, so it's not the end of the world. read more

What a shady business. I wish I had read some of the negative reviews before we joined. My husband and I have been members for over a year and explicitly asked about the cancellation policy when we joined because we knew there was a chance we would be moving before the end of the contract. Staff assured us that if we had proof of our move we could cancel easily without repercussion. Not only does the customer service significantly drop the moment you mention you will be canceling your membership, but even after showing proof of our new home, OVER 35 MILES AWAY, we were still charged a $99 cancellation fee. I told the customer service representative that even if this was the policy I found it a very shady business that this was the ONLY ASPECT of the cancellation policy that was not presented by the sales associate who originally signed us up. Staff responded by ignoring my email for 6 days until I reached out again. As consistent customers at a premium priced gym in the area we expected better customer service. Do yourself a favor and go to Felonious Fitness across the street or Planet Fitness up the road. read more

I figured it was time to get in shape...so...I live about 7 minutes from this joint and I figured it'd be the only way I'd go if it was so close to me. I got a membership for $20 a month...which is pretty awesome for a full on gym membership. They have so many machines inside that I've never had to wait to use anything. Locker rooms. A pool (Which is no being remodeled) So much stuff to do. Also, each machine has it's own tv. So, you don't have to watch one communal TV. You can hook up and watch anything you want. Also, they all have ipod jacks to charge an ipod or iphone while you're working out. Pretty bitching. read more

This is the gym I go to regularly. I don't love it. But, gyms are few and far between out this way, and it's ok. The price worked out to be $20 a month, so that part is SUPER. And, its very clean and there are lot of machines. But that's also kind of one of the things I don't like about it- it's like they are trying to fit in too many people that sometimes its awkward to even walk through because there isn't an easy laid-out path that makes sense. Maybe that's a stupid thing to not like, but I believe in feng shui, and I really need no more obstacles to working out. The other thing that does bother me is the limited hours for lap swimming. During the week, it's mainly in the very early (too early) morning. Outside of that, you can do laps, but there are classes and that never works out well. When I do swim laps, I want it to be remotely relaxing, but also a good work out, but the relaxation part doesn't work out well during the classes. And sometimes, I have to share a lane with another lap swimmer (though in those cases, I quickly end my lap swimming times. Few things are worse in work-out life than sharing a swim lane). So, I mean, it's fine. read more

I go to the MAC for an awesome mix of rigorous cardio workouts and strength training. For cardio, they have group classes and an extensive selection of cardio machines. The MAC has a huge free weight section, along with Olympic lifting weights and platforms. Their Keiser air resistance machines have really helped decrease knee pain. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the facility is extremely clean, and I could not imagine working out anywhere else! read more

Came here for a free work out session. The gym staff was courteous, welcoming and helpful. They offer a wide range of workout equipment ranging from free weights, and treadmills to an indoor swimming pool and yoga room. Gym also includes tanning beds and offers a wide range of fitness classes. The gym and locker rooms are clean and spacious. I really appreciated the warm welcome I received from the trainers. I also want to give a special shout out to Nick at the front desk who not only works to help people get into shape, but also works with them to keep up a healthy lifestyle. I would recommend this gym to a gym rat, yoga enthusiast and to your average joe. read more

All of the staff are very friendly. There is never a wait for a machine when I come I come at lunchtime. Once I get some weight off I would love to venture out and learn how to use more of the weight equipment. The only negative I have is some of the tv's don't always work or the volume is either zero or blaring, in between. I love the music you play though. I do wish daycare hours were longer on Saturdays and available on Sundays so I could come on weekends too after soccer games. But overall a I am happy to be a MAC member. read more

This place is really something special, from having the best equipment, a truly good environment for working out and a great staff, a great gym for a great workout from pressurized machines, to free weights, group classes, a swimming pool, and a fleet of treadmills, cycles, and ellipticals, CrossFit equipment, child care, and even the possibility to see some FC cincy soccer players, this place is an official partner of FC Cincinnati, visit and you'll see it's with good reason, even when busy they have so many machines wait times are non existent because there's always an open machine, I can't put over this place enough, and the environment is imperative in any gym if you feel self conscious you're more likely not to go back, well this place will have you feeling so comfortable there are literally people aged 2-92, everyone's keeping there heads down and putting in work, this place has everything you think you need and what you didn't know you need, from the great machines to the classes they provide almost daily, this place honestly has something for everyone, and if you need support they can help guide your workouts, on a scale of 5 this place is certainly a 10!!! P.s. on top of everything else if you pay a one time $25 fee you can get 24/7 access (they give you an electronic key fob) for people who keep different work hours this is extremely helpful because work shouldn't keep you from working on yourself. read more

I,m in great shape and staff suggested I use the machines that are used in nursing homes and retirement homes and didn't want to give me a schedule for anything but Silversneakers. If you don't have your own workout equipment, this local gym has everything you'd need including a lap pool, showers, free weights, plenty of aerobic equipment, a good array of classes (pilates, spinning, etc...), DAYCARE, and a friendly staff. A relaxed exercise facility with no feeling like you're trying to do a basic workout around a bunch of chemically enhaced, grunting idiots. Its been renamed "Miami Valley Fitness" or something similar for the past few years. Privately owned (now anyway-apparently the original owner just bought it back from a chain) and a better experience than many of the chain gyms. I've setup a complete gym at my house so I'm no longer a member, but I wouldn't hesitate to return if I didn't have everything I need in my basement. Affordable, but no month-to-month plans so make sure you're ready for a long term commitment. read more

I go to MAC for ONE reason......it is less than 1 mile from where I live. These people fix NOTHING. I have been coming for 2 years now and the same machines that were broken 2 years ago are still broken now! When it rains instead of fixing the roof their solution is to put buckets on the floor. They need new cardio equipment badly....their Precor elipticals are at least 7 years old. Frankly I prefer Life Fitness machines and wish they would get those but that is just my opinion. BUT the monthly fee isn't bad. Like they say you get what you pay for. read more

After being told that Miami Athletic Club (MAC) would not allow me to cancel my gym membership (since I would be, and am now studying abroad in Spain), I went to the gym, turned in my key fab, and wrote a check to pay the balance for my gym membership. MAC gladly accepted my key fab and check. That check posted as a successful transaction to my bank account. All of that happened in August of 2014 (last month). Now, MAC is charging me for September dues. I have emailed my bank, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Cincinnati, WCPO news at www.wcpo.com, and I have aired my grievances about this on Facebook. Good gym just needs some changes to make it great. Ceiling fans can't be turned on/off individually creating cold spots. The fountain water needs to be filtered. Sometimes tastes awful. Despite write ups, some machines never get fixed. Not enough kettle balls. Sometimes you can't locate two of the some weight. Locked in CrossFit room? The good: clean, lots of machines and a lot of nice folks work and workout there. read more

The main reason I joined this gym was the daycare and the swim lessons they offer children. The Head Swim instructor was Lori. She was wonderful with the children and my boys loved working with her. Then out of the blue she was let go. I was so upset about this, but I decided to keep on going. But, all my workouts were cut short due to the poor daycare. The daycare itself is a decent facility but the staff there is not very attentive with the children. Their main focus is to make sure no one breaks a leg, but they do not play or interact with the children. They will come and get you and tell you your child has to leave after 15 minutes of crying. I watched one time through the window and the girls just sat there and talked to each other as the older children ran past the smaller children pushing them out of the way. I spoke with the front desk, very nicely, several times about my concerns. The first time they said they would talk with the daycare staff. After that my concerns were met with, "Other kids are fine there." Both my children do many activities and never have problems any where else. My one son has a few delays and his therapist went with him one time to see why he is so upset there, and she also confirmed what I saw. The girls there were very poorly trained, didn't help many of the children, and let the older kids run around and horse play directly next to the younger children. I explained to at least two staff members that since my children can not stay at the daycare for longer than 20 minutes I will not be able to come and workout. I asked if there was a way I could get out of the contract. I again was told that other children are fine there, I signed a contract, and there is nothing they can do. So, I have paid for a two year membership that I could not use. I wasn't going to say anything but I have met two other mothers that ran into the same problem as I did with the daycare. They also had young toddlers and tried to say or request some help and was met with a similar response of "Other children are fine there." Overall it's a gym, if you have any concerns or want help you may be treated with the same attitude I was. Also, if you have a young toddler and plan on using the daycare there, I would rethink joining. read more

I joined this gym because it was a few miles away from my house, and seemed relatively affordable. I signed a one year contract in October of 2015-I would live to regret this decision. The facilities are fine for what I needed, elliptical and an indoor pool to swim laps-relatively clean, but no frills. The steam room was out of order for most of my time with the gym. In July of 2015 I found out that I would be relocating to the east coast. As MAC is a family owned business I was sure that with proof of my new address they would let me out of the rest of my contract. I went to the front desk not once, but 3 times with all the necessary info to cancel. The first guy had me fill out 2 pages of forms and said the office manager would call when they were in. That never happened so I went in again and was told I had to speak with the office manager who again-was not there (i went on a week day during business hours). On my third visit I was informed all I had to do was email the info@ address to cancel (the office manager AGAIN was nowhere to be found), however I would have to pay $100 to cancel, which is more than the $60 in monthly fees left in my contract. At this point I was fed up and had plenty of other things to keep me busy, like a full time job, and packing up my life to move 600 miles away, so I dropped it. I should've read the cancellation portion of my contract more closely before signing and thats on me. What isn't on me is training the front desk employees to give members accurate information the first time. After October 2016 my contract was up and I didn't expect more charges, but they continued. So I emailed the office manager and was told that after December 5th my membership would be cancelled and there would be no more charges. Today is January 5th 2017 and what do I see pull out of my bank account? Membership fee to MAC! I see after reading other reviews that I'm not alone in this. The cancellation process CANNOT be that hard to fix, so it seems fairly intentional and obvious that they hope people just won't notice the charges continuing. STAY AWAY unless you want to be a member permanently. Reporting to the BBB and calling my bank in the morning. read more

This facility is OK. I was a member here for 2 years with no problems. My trouble came when it was time for renewal, I called to ask about adding my son and husband to my membership and find out instructions on how it works along with pricing. I spoke to Terry and her son (?) a couple of times and then my husband had more questions that I hadn't thought of so he called and Terry was so mean to my husband and myself for no reason. She evidently thought we were calling too much. I didn't understand then and I still don't understand why we were treated so horribly for no reason. (we only called 3 times total that day) I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Needless to say we completed my membership and did NOT renew and my son husband and myself got a better membership out in the Fields Ertel Rd area. It was so bad my husband and I thought she was on drugs because the behavior was so irrational. read more

I have a Silver Sneaker's membership and I use the machines and treadmill. My experience has been good except for a few things. Half the time, I can't do my routine in the small exercise room because it's being used by people who want the lights out, which is unsafe and strange for a gym. I also think the music is awful, and I loved the music at Orange Theory! They've recently removed the pool from the SS membership (now $10/mo), and I've never seen more than a couple people using it while I'm there. I've gotten a little disenchanted, but it's still a good gym in my opinion. read more

I wouldn't sign a contract to this place. It is a year long contract and there is no way to get out of it. Even after my year contract ended, they began charging me month to month saying that I had to sign a cancelation document and they could not give me my money back for the month they charged me and my kids even though I hadn't used my membership at all that month (or the 6 months before the contract ended). They could only offer me more time at the club. This place is not worth it! The equipment is super close together, the classes are so full you can barely move and the basically trick you into a binding contract and take your money without remorse. Go to Planet fitness or L.A. Fitness. They have month to month payment and amazing customer service. read more

It is OK, and for the money it is adequate, but it is dated and doesn't compare to clubs in Montgomery, Mason, and Anderson. I also wasn't satisfied with their cancellation policy which did not notify me that they would continue to bill after the 3-year contract ended. This gym is NOT easy to deal with. There is no such thing as the member is always right or we try to accommodate our members. I recently moved far enough away that going to this gym is no longer convenient for me...like 30 miles away. Not only can I not cancel my membership (which I understand), but when my debit card number was recently stolen, I tried to call in with my new card. They will NOT take it any way but in person. In fact, she told me that if they did not have the new number by the end of the month, my card would be rejected and I would not only have to pay the $31.94 for my membership, but an additional $25 fee for it being returned. Now, I NEVER go to Milford anymore. I told her how far away they were and she did not care. I understand policies have to be followed but they should go on a member by member basis when this kind of stuff is invloved. My father is in ICU and may not live, my aunt is very sick, I'm getting divorced and moving again. Getting to Milford is NOT convenient for me, but because they are SO unbending in their rules and not even willing to try to work with me, but in fact, threaten to charge me more if I don't get the payment made, I have to go into the daggone gym and give them my new card. Believe me, I am going to give them a piece of my mind when I get there. read more
